This has been SO helpful Mike, thanks. For me, there's a couple of stand-out plugins I never knew existed, but which both will help immeasurably. I use Obsidian to journal in, but it's more free-form than the bullet approach you take. But one of the first things I do is open up RUclips or Tidal and grab some focus music to journal to, so the SoundScape plugin is incredibly helpful. But also, being a relatively new person to Obsidian, I was not even aware of the fact there are different callouts...so now I can visually make a distinction between callouts which are prayers, and callouts which are bible passages, particularly when it comes to creating sermons. So, thanks very much for those plugins. The only frustration for me, is that I don't use a mouse, but I use a Wacom Tablet, and Obsidian currently does not support the pen drivers, so I can't really use Canvas, or else that would be super helpful.
Fun fact, obsidian already has a way to change callout types without having to manually change the syntax. Just right click on a callout and choose the Change callout type option. From the list you can freely switch between the different callouts
A very useful video. I've spent the last several hours trying some of them out. The one that I can't quite figure out is Media Notes, where you go too fast for me to understand what you're doing exactly. The plugin's own documentation is also too scanty. If you were to make a video showing how to use it, I would be very happy! And grateful.
Wow! thanks for sharing all this. If you ever created a more in depth video where you demonstrate some of the more rare gems which dont already have tons of online tutorials on youtube I would be all up for that.
Glad you liked it! I did do this video on some less popular plugins: ruclips.net/video/GcsTvY5Luz0/видео.html But if there’s something specific you’d like to see, let me know 😊
@@MikeSchmitz yes I know. And it’s great! so no need to cover those. But the rest which has not been covered elsewhere or where you have a unique workflow would be really cool to hear about.
Great Idea with Tasks in Canvas. Mononote ist bugged (Outlink Mentions). Share Note is very useful. I didn't know about Soundscapes: Thank you. I tried it and now I am using it all the time. Great Plugin for me. I didn't know Pinboard. I am using Omnivore and I am super happy with it. Great Video. Thank you Mike!
Thank you for the shoutout to Note Toolbar! I'd love to hear if you have ideas for features you would like to see added that would make it even more useful for your use case(s).
Hey @MikeSchimtz, is there a way to integrate MindNode notes into obsidian. I like creating notes in MindNotes, but would like to use search feature in obsidian and bring everything at a single place.
You can’t integrate them, but what I do is export the mind map as both a PDF and Markdown then bring both into Obsidian. Then I can reference the mind map and the text is searchable 🙂
you did an amazing job at covering so many in a single video. kudos to that. i'm working on an obsidian plugin that helps users keep their vault organized, along other ai-powered features, such as templates. we have over 1k users and are growing, but the product is still a bit rough around the edges (especially our automatic organization features). you're quite knowledgeable about a lot of what's currently possible in obsidian. so i was wondering if you'd be open to trying it out? would be happy to send a free license.

Thanks! I didn’t know that 😊 I do still like the visual preview, but this is handy!
Some real gems in here. Thank you!

Monotone was updated and now works fine!
Good work Bro, a lot of inspiration!
Thanks, glad it was helpful 😊
Good job ! I added 3, 4 of them.
Thanks 😊 Glad you found it helpful
Mike you should consider offering a full workshop. I followed the one you made for the sweet setup, but there is more to say and show.
I consider myself as a power user , and I was able to extract some gems :)
Query Control is one of them !
Awesome, glad it was helpful 😊 Query Control was a revelation for me too
Thank you for the shoutout to Note Toolbar!

I’d love to take a look 😊
@@MikeSchmitz awesome. What's the best way to send you the license?
@@different-ai you can send the info to mike at mikeschmitz dot com. Thanks!
I wonder what happens to you if someone ends up deleting your data/cloud/app or are put in a situation without access
Why does the video stop playing in Media Notes when I start typing?
Obsidian finally updated the way they do word count in one of the latest releases.
Awesome! One less plugin I need now, thanks 🙂
I didn't know it would be that stable with that many plugins lol
It’s pretty stable on the desktop, but mobile is a different story. I only have a couple plugins enabled there.
@@MikeSchmitz yeah for the longest time I used obsidian on an iPad Pro… it was a mess to say the least 😂
So useful that it feels illegal to be free!
Ha, thanks 🙂 I do have a product I'm building if you really feel like you need to give me money 😂 practicalpkm.com/lifehq
wow! thanks
You're welcome ☺️ Glad it was helpful
great🎉🎉❤
use least amount of plugin, it will save your life
I 100% agree with your advice! I periodically look for things to trim. Unfortunately, I'm still a ways from being a true Obsidian minimalist 😂
I would highly rec moving away from wordpress. So unstable and slow in my experience. Ghost cms has been a thousand times faster/easier.
Appreciate the nudge towards Ghost. I need to figure that out for sure. Wordpress is getting harder and harder to use for me.
