As other comments mentioned, syncing is a crucial part of my setup because I use(d) it with multiple devices and some parts with other people as well. Think, I will set up syncthing on my server and do some syncing magic with that. Thank you for the video, Christian!

Dataview: you can also use it to bring formulas in from other files.
Example: I have one file for each group of formulas I’m using. They rely on several document variables and one imported variable (the calculation). That way I just need to have the values in the frontmatter, read the variable value from the formula document and that’s it. Each time I use the new variable in the document, I get the calculated result. Also works with in-document variables, you just have to prep your formulas accordingly. So you only need to write (and modify) a formula once and keep using it on a whole lot of documents.

Don't know if youre about to mention this. With MacGPT and an OpenAI API Key, you can write a prompt directly into obsidian and also get the response directly to obsidian. Depending on your workflow, this can be amazing.

@@cantisOne counterpoint: Getting that GPT output directly into your current screen can minimize workflow disruptions. You don't need to alt+tab between Chrome and Obsidian as much. The only real value this can add, however, is if you pare down that information and REWRITE it in your own words. Without rewriting the GPT response, you're absolutely right that it won't help to retain information.

Project looks very interesting, and may allow me to use my project key words very flexibly. For example, every project item (note, document, drawing, image, model) will relate to a project activity, a work-breakdown item, a project element, a material, a location, a specification reference. I could use these as meta data and queries about particular project components would be really quick.

Dataview is what convinced me to use obsidian. It pretty much replaced my todo app and notion setup. When I create a document in obsidian I include tasks I need to preform for this document. With dataview I've created a canvas which aggregates all the tasks from thes documents which provides me a total overview of what needs to be done. No more elaborate explainations in a tasks to remind me what I was thinking about. Clicking on the tasks brings me to the relevant context.

If i use obsidian in my windows to create .md's, i got 2 doubts:
    - if there a browser way to just view the md's like a chrome extension or google drive webapp i can right click a .md in google drive and "Open with" ?
    - in my android phone, how can i view .md's in my google drive ?
Seems people using syc programs to sync folders from main computer into devices, but that doesn't work for me since i got GBs of all sort of files on my google drive folder tree (that i would like start converting .txt into .md), including videos, books etc.. so syncing all is nono. Also not interested in splitting and moving out .md files/images out of current folder tree ss i rather have all type of files in same folder tree.
Any suggestions? i tried couple android apps, but most don't connect or able to open .md files in google drive, and the ones supporting google drive are basic and missing .md things like check boxes etc.

The community plugin 'Self-hosted LiveSync' will do that for you if you set up a docker container with CouchDB

Unfortunately, not. Honestly, some of those plugins were giving me a hard time. :D I'm still using it for my tech docs, but for productivity I'm afraid to say I've switched to a different app :(

If you are a little tech-affine, which I naively assume, due to the fact, you are on this channel ;), you could set up _syncthing_ on a server and all your devices and just sync the obsidian folder. I paid for Obsidian Sync for the last year but now that it expired, I hesitated to renew. Will go the DIY route with syncthing now.

Plugins are great but they can quickly become about fiddling with settings rather than publishing work.
