- It's always nice to fish your honey holes, but sometimes you have to go out and find those hidden urban creeks that no one else thinks to fish. These creeks may seem void of life, trashy, and even smelly to most people, but that doesn't mean there's not fish! In this video we found a tiny creek jammed between a highway and a shopping center and decided to give it a try! 7 species in just over two and a half hours is a good day in my book!
Gear used:
Rod- Ugly Stik Elite 6' Medium Light
Reel- Shimano Sedona 2500 HG
Line- Leland Lure's S.O.S Trout Line 2lb monofilament
Lure- Leland Lure's Trout Magnet
Hooks- Owner Half Moon Tanago Hooks
Hey man, just stumbled on your channel and I love your scientific approach, and the ID pictures right after the catch is great. Keep it up!
Appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Nice job Nate! I checked Inat since I thought I knew where you were, and low and behold, it is a tributary of my local creek. There is so much diversity...been fishing there since 2019 and have a few more yet to be caught lifers! Quillback, Longnose dace, shield darter and a baby snakehead are all sightings yet to be caught!
Thank you! I knew I was gonna be nearing your neck of the woods when I was heading there. The Quillback observation is what peaked my interest in heading here. I’ll have to check it out in the spring and see if I see anything different.
Great work !
Thank you!
Bluntnose Minnows are very nice fish! They are very easy to breed!
Makes sense, because whenever I find them I find them in bulk! Hahah
