- No words can explain the heartbreak that comes from losing a child. For Karter’s parents, they refused to let him pass away for no reason; they wanted their tragedy to help others. Karter’s parents donated his brain and tumors to Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) research, and his heart valves were donated to the AHS Comprehensive Tissue Centre. Karter’s heart valves saved two babies who had heart defects.
