Interesting. I have a perfectly good motor, but I discovered through your help that my centrifugal switch lever, a piece of plastic that probably cost 5 cents, has worn off and is too short to engage when the motor is off. That means that the motor control is stuck in run and therefore the motor cannot start. The internals of the switch that you didn't open look perfect in mine. It's just a worn lever. I wonder if a bead of JB weld will fix it?
Anyway, my motor is only 17 years old, but I guess this dryer had been turned on and off a lot. I hope I can fix mine because it's $200 on Amazon, I saw some used for half that, and I don't see any centrifugal switches or controllers.
