I happen to have a CT-90 motor sitting on a shelf in my garage. No carb or exhaust, and missing a few trim pieces, but it wasn't locked up when I put it there 20 years ago. You can have it for free if you pay the shipping. It should give you the parts you need to put the engine together.
I'm 63 so I can give you a little history on the CT 90 and why it didn't do so well as far as being accepted . Honda was making leaps and bounds in their smaller bikes in those days . The very early Honda 60's were almost a moped with plastic fenders , horrible shocks and wire wheels . Then came the Mini Trail 50's with their mag like rims and fat little tires . They had adjustable seats ( great idea ) and they could carry an adult . This was a full on WINNER and my cousin had one . This was our learner bike and all four of us put it through hell ! It was made tough , just fast enough , had an automatic clutch and would ride for hours on that little bitty tank . Then came the 70 and was bigger faster but still had the fat tires and still had the tough little rims .I'm telling you the things were indestructable ! When the 90 came out with it's bigger frame and a motor that couldn't fill it up . wire wheels that made it look wimpy , slimmer tires it just didn't look like it could take the punishment the 50 and 70 took . So Honda came out with the XR 75 and it was A WINNER ! It had a regular looking engine , a clutch , a motocross look and it just felt faster . Honda wisely adapted it's colors to their CR motocross line and if you didn't know hired Jeff Ward ( the flying freckle ) to race one professionally ! Jeff Ward became our instant hero . First off he could ride like no kid you've ever seen and was unbeatable and in the original " On Any Sunday " movie wheelied his Mini Trail 50 for what seemed like a mile . Honda was brilliant with their Mini Bike development that earned them Major Bucks . Every kid in America was saving their paper route money for a Honda Mini trail or an XR 75 ! The Honda 90 Mini should have been built like an XR 75 and they would of flew out of the stores ! The XR 75 and Mini Trails had the other brands scrambling to catch up ... The Suzuki Grasshoper had a dumb name and looked weird . The little Yamaha's tried but failed then became part of the Motocross MX's and DT's and did great . Kawasaki missed that boat completely so badly the KX didn't come out with motocross bikes until nearly 1978 . Kawasaki wanted the street bike money . Didn't mean to talk your leg off but I saw it all develop and I thought you might find it interesting . There's even more to the story but I didn't want to write a book . PK
I had a trail 70 as a kid in the early 90s and I stopped riding it cuz everyone else had 125s and it wasn’t cool anymore. Adult in my 40s with tons of toys and all I want is that trail 70 back.
Throw a knobby or two at that thing- makes a world of difference. I have a Z50A w/a Chinese 4-speed on it w/a 16 or 17 tooth front sprocket and a boat trailer tire on the back. But once those leaves come down, the knobbies go on. Just no grip in the woods/trails. I'm almost 60 and falling hurts! Love your channel and content, keep up those great videos.
I grew up with a lot of these honda bikes in the neighborhood , brings back a lot of memories 🤤 that things stupid fast ! To fast for leaves, need a leaf blower, That'll be good on the road passin a Grom 😮☮️
My family actually inherited a 1969 Honda ST-90 when I was a kid in the mid 80's that had belonged originally to my great grandfather. I grew up riding it around in the field behind my house. Unfortunately, in the 90's my dad randomly decided to sell it to my uncle because it was taking up space in his garage. Ours was the bright green and in almost perfect condition when he sold it. I knew then he made a massive mistake and that it would eventually be worth a lot of money to collectors in the future.
Thanks C&C, these CT's being back memories! My buddy and I found a couple old broken down ct50s at his grandpa's. He said they'd never start, so 15yo me gets em both running and brakes working on one and barely the other. We 'borrowed' em and somehow made it from our outskirt of town to my place, then to another buddy's. I'll never forget pulling up to his house and my dad was already there... just standing at the back of the truck with his arms crossed... Yeah got our asses whooped and I don't remember what all my dad yelled but we had both burnt the hell off our legs in shorts on that damn exhaust. Still have that scar. RIP Chris
My dad has a 73 st90 this brings back memories of riding it as a kid. He has been talking about getting it going again. I'm going to show him this video and maybe it will give him the nudge he needs!
I started watching on my birthday in 2019. I LOVED the dynamic of John and Ike and was worried when Charles joined. Odd man out so to speak. Recently I went back and watched earlier vids from before Charles and its hard to watch without him. Charles has added so so much that i can no longer watch Cars and Cameras without him. Love the 3 of you and love what you are doing.
It will definitely be fine. I love you guys. I had a 73 ST 90 and never had more fun on a motorized vehicle in my life. Mine felt a tad underpowered but I could ride it anywhere and it was FUN...You guys are so good at what you do, I will be watching your vids til the day I die. More more more.....P.S. the drag rail, more please !
Just a suggestion, but since you more than likely have a zero turn lawn mower out there, run it over the course before making a lap with all the leaves and tall grass. You can go slow and raise the deck a step or 2 in the leaves and it will work as a leave mulcher and blower.
I got my first mini bike in 1968 for Christmas when I was seven. My mom got a mini trail 70 the same Christmas and it wasn't but less than one year before I was writing hers. I couldn't touch the ground but I had to pull up to a box or stump so I wouldn't tip over😂
She’s a ripper! Y’all turned some trash into treasure. This is giving me the old school vibes when y’all would resurrect a lost cause and bring it back to life! This is one of the best videos in a long time!
oh yes i love all your st50/70/90 Honda Mini Bike series sooooo much...... now you know how the Zongshen 212cc is doing, next step is the Daytona Anima 4V 212cc 😈😈😈 i bet you will love it guys
Contact a cycle suspension shop for suggestions for re valving and re springing the forks and get some better shocks. Looks like the bike has the power, just needs a ferret suspension so it can be ridden fast. Really needs some good knobbies too.
Hey, you can fix that swiss cheese by blocking the holes on the outside with a thin layer of fuel tank putty and then use "POR16" on the inside to coat it generously. Once the coatings dry then remove the fuel tank putty from the outside and put the frame together and enjoy.
i told u this day would come...... 2 yrs back at least...i said, someones gonna get bit on that creek turn.... atc u boys had , i told ya 140 gone woop ya.... 212?????????????? mannnnn ! great build boys great build..... yeww!, love videos of old hondas and things normal folk have around home that can be restored..
You could get a new sleeve pressed into your 90cc jug. Any reputable engine machine shop could do it, for a price. Cast iron sleeves come in most metric, and imperial sizes, and, you'd just have to bore out the cracked sleeve, cut the replacement to length, press it in, check deck height to make sure the sleeve is level with the fire deck, and hone it, to fit the piston. It IS a viable option, if a replacement can't be found. I've worked for companies that would do ALL the work, and hand you a good as new part, ready to be bolted on. You guys will be entering true builder territory, good luck, hope this helps.
I bought one of these in 1987 from a bootsale (in the uk it cost me £22 i had the best fun on it rideing round feilds i blew up the engine and put a honda trike engine in it 110 cc it didnt fit the mounts so i made some adaptors for it in school (i was 14 at the time )i had a honda mtx front end on it renthal bars alloy wheels and a cammo paint job ,it was one of the first bikes i built as a teen and it took me a few days to work out my frankenstein bike and find parts that kinda fitted but i loved every minuite of it .
Having the hand controls in line with or behind the axis of the front forks will MASSIVELY help stability and turning feel. Every real motorcycle does that, I am honestly amazed vertical bars are a thing on minibikes, its so squirrely. Awesome build and video as usual, Ike is a trooper and that 212 is an absolute beast
Get some tires on that thing and you guys need to do an overlanding camping video with it and two of the 70s… camping, fishing, cooking, and motorbikin’…
Dudes, y'all could totally market and sell those engine upgrade mounting brackets,....with a safety disclaimer, of course. 😆 LOL Keep doing what you are doing fellas.
Don't forget to put some paint on the adaptor plate for the motor. Rattle can job matt black.... Oh and you should get some "Steelit" paint that you can weld through, would make your life much easier on big build projects...
Have the same bad habit here in Michigan all the tables and benchs are covered with tools and random stuff so I end up working on the floor or the driveway or the grass, If I clean off the tables the bois at the shop cry about it .
Ike identifies as the Postal Service... cause all he does is *SEND IT*!! That launch for your first lap... Chef kiss... Beautiful! In all seriousness, glad you're okay from the little spill!
I have one. My favorite bike. Im 15 but I've done waiting for years to see the day where you guys mess with one. Its here. Awesome video, and well done Cars & Cameras
Do you guys remember the ruckus that you all got running again? What if you took a 420 predator and a Colman rear wheel and made a rear section to bolt in. Or maybe silver wing swap the ruckus
The engine is perfect. A few tweaks, and defo some fatter tires, and it's one of the fastest minibikes you guys have. That one is worth putting some work into.
I think the wheel alignment is out it's easy to check and if it helps ride straight well worth a look .great fun guys promise us you won't grow up any time soon 😜👍
I think part of the rear end slipping out is the play in the swing arm. Also I would inspect how good the rear shocks are. Just a thought. Love the build. Bring new life to an awesome piece of history.
When I was a kid, Busch Gardens in Williamsburg had a fleet of Honda Trail 90s, but they were the step-through CT90 model. I didn't realize that they made a Trail 90 so similar to the Trail 70.
HEY John you guys would probably benefit huge if you got a small medium sized vinyl printer......then you can reprint graphics that were original but make em new or make your own custom graphics/livery Would be awesome!
Had this bike when I was a kid. Been looking for one for years, although everybody tells me that they didn't make a trail 90. I knew it was a 90, cuz it ripped past my buddy on his 70, It was faster than my other buddy's YZ80. Now I know it' was an ST90. Oh the memories of my mom shrieking as I flew past the kitchen window at full speed.
Nice score finding an st90! They really don’t get built as often as the ct70’s and z50’s do and I think a lot of that has to do with the different motor mounts, leaving motor swaps options limited without adapters like you made. They are really a unique parts bin engineered bike. Stamped monocoque frame from the ct70, suspension and wheels from the sl70 and the engine from the ct90 minus the dual range gearbox.
Hey from New Brunswick Canada you guys should put motocross tires on it and take it for a lap it will cut a ton off ur laps and keep to the Honda motocross heritage
used to have a CT70; went to sleepover camp one summer and the groundskeeper would bust around the place on a ST90. Had to do a doubletake; frame looks damn close to the 70 just with taller wheels
yes tires n tubes are needed - scrambler min type or knobby as the exhaust pipe shows a scramble trail look.. Do a street run too with mph showing from a gps speed o view want to see more...
I would love to see what you guys could do with a Honda Gyro! I used to work at a moped rental in Branson Mo and we had several of them. That was the only place I ever saw them. They were trikes that pivoted behind the seat in front of the engine and drive train. They were a ton of fun.
Just so happen to think that that is one Lil spicy bike an hope to much more on it! Hope to see more resto on that frame a Lil bit to make her look a bit better for yourselves safely wise. Deff some matching new tires an tubes if needed. Over all glad yall are safe an hope to see this bike in many more videos.
The st90 is a hard model to find in the honda minibike world. They hold there value and ones in nice condition go for high prices. That nice oem exhaust is worth several hundred bucks.Sweet
I was a honda kid back in the 80s an 90s that rode alot of trial 70s an a 90 model but it didnt have the big wheels like this does. I never know they made one with big wheels. I had a sl70 with same wheels and forks almost as this, but it was a regular dirtbike frame. Awsome score.❤
Ike, laid down, in a pile of leaves, in the woods, between scrub brush and on a classic mini bike saying "i wanna go again" is the most Ike-esque Ike-ism ever.
Guys I have this exact bike, same color and everything! I love it! I taught my fiance how to ride on it! I have a request.....more of a beg! Please please make some copies of the fabricated brackets needed for the engine conversion and put it on your March sight! Please!!! I need more power than the almost 50 year 90cc 3sp motor can give! 🙏 P.S. I love your channel! I live in Washington State....if you make those brackets available, I promise I will find a way to get out there with my 90 to Mini Mayhem! 👍
Wow, l am happy for C & C to find an ST-90. If l ever get the chance to get one it is on my list as well. Got a CT-90 a while back and really like that bike. This year l found a 1978 Yammy XT500. Loads of fun from those two. Congrats.
Sweet little bike totally agree that the st90 should have run longer than 3 yrs it's a wicked little Honda. Definitely needs a redemption video. Would be cool to see it on the road
So awesome to see this build. I currently am trying to revive my original stock 1974 ST90 (burnt orange too) from when I was a kid. Original motor has some head problems so I've been trying to figure out what engine replacement would be a good swap. Looking forward to seeing how yours handles the pavement.
Reminds me of the summer in the mid 60's. A friend of mine was riding a Honda I think it was a 70 trail. He ran over something and it pitched him into a barbed wire fence! He slid down the fence ! He was cut up really bad, but out of the hospital in record time. He was riding the next day!
When Ike was on his last rip across the fields,I was thinking that the motor would be Awesome in a gocart shaped like an Odessey, and then you snuck a glance for us at such.I think a long travel cart you set down into, for balance, would do for those engines justice.
Another great episode, I had to head over and order myself my first ornaments, missed our on the dragster ornament. Just had oral surgery and was treating myself an early gift.
Hello. Nice moped. If you use an exhaust with a manifold with a diameter of at least 30 mm, the 212 will also have the right performance. Thank you for the video and best regards from Germany.
Hey guys, we now sell pit bike engine adapter brackets for the Honda ST90! Check them out on our website, I have a link in the video description.
Im going to look into buying one just because you guys making life easier for us thank you!
I happen to have a CT-90 motor sitting on a shelf in my garage. No carb or exhaust, and missing a few trim pieces, but it wasn't locked up when I put it there 20 years ago. You can have it for free if you pay the shipping. It should give you the parts you need to put the engine together.
Good on ya, hope they see this! Maybe it would be a good project for a full build!
Would be cool if they seen this but they don't read their comments or at least they don't listen to them
@carsandcameras! Read this guys comment
Hope they see this
Maybe email them?

me too
you boys should seriously invest in a leaf blower

Been riding bikes over 40 years. Worst bike accident ever had was on an ST 90.Brings back nightmares.😂

Now theres a Mission no one seems to do on RUclips, Make your own plate steel chassis. That would be a so cool.
Im a member of the Honda ST90 enthusiast group on FB, while not as many members as the CT group, we do have a fair sized group
Take a leaf blower out there and clear the leaves. Minutes the track is leaf free.
You guys should sell those engine adapter plates. I’ll bet they would work on the CL90 and the CT90 too!
Just a suggestion, but since you more than likely have a zero turn lawn mower out there, run it over the course before making a lap with all the leaves and tall grass.
You can go slow and raise the deck a step or 2 in the leaves and it will work as a leave mulcher and blower.
Leaf mulcher. Singular for leaves is leaf
I really, really like these longer videos. I just need something to watch, even if it's just goofing around. Love the team 🤩
oh yes i love all your st50/70/90 Honda Mini Bike series sooooo much...... now you know how the Zongshen 212cc is doing, next step is the Daytona Anima 4V 212cc 😈😈😈 i bet you will love it guys
Used to lay it down and jump up to finish the lap...now we just lay there and contemplate our decisions! Love them old Honda's
Scrape the paint off the edge of each fin, add a lil visual interest
Contact a cycle suspension shop for suggestions for re valving and re springing the forks and get some better shocks. Looks like the bike has the power, just needs a ferret suspension so it can be ridden fast. Really needs some good knobbies too.
Hey, you can fix that swiss cheese by blocking the holes on the outside with a thin layer of fuel tank putty and then use "POR16" on the inside to coat it generously. Once the coatings dry then remove the fuel tank putty from the outside and put the frame together and enjoy.

Definitely want to see this bike get it's fair shot on the Grand Prix! Loved this episode! Old school Cars and Cameras.
Build a moiorized leafblower and put it on a kart.
Maybe a snowplow for the winter.
Having the hand controls in line with or behind the axis of the front forks will MASSIVELY help stability and turning feel. Every real motorcycle does that, I am honestly amazed vertical bars are a thing on minibikes, its so squirrely. Awesome build and video as usual, Ike is a trooper and that 212 is an absolute beast

good job guys my first bike was a ct70 rode for two weeks traded for sl 70 never looked back i am 64 now motorcycles snowmobiles my life
Don't forget to put some paint on the adaptor plate for the motor.
Rattle can job matt black....
Oh and you should get some "Steelit" paint that you can weld through, would make your life much easier on big build projects...
Watching them work on the floor makes want to drive from west Georgia to North Carolina to build them a workbench.
Have the same bad habit here in Michigan all the tables and benchs are covered with tools and random stuff so I end up working on the floor or the driveway or the grass, If I clean off the tables the bois at the shop cry about it .
I loved this episode. I have a 1961 Honda CT110 that I am trying to get a Lifan 107 running on. I would love to see that ST90 with new tires.
You guys always build the cool stuff. I think a good set of tires would be a huge upgrade.
i'd get a set of knobbies and a set of road tires so you could enjoy it both ways. it's a sweet little bike
Ike identifies as the Postal Service... cause all he does is *SEND IT*!!
That launch for your first lap... Chef kiss... Beautiful! In all seriousness, glad you're okay from the little spill!

Great Score on the st90!! I really enjoyed watching you guys clean the bike, was very enjoyable to see it shine up!!!👍👍
The Ike & Charles show would be freakin awesome.
Change the swing arm bushings for taper rollers..
good idea
The engine is perfect. A few tweaks, and defo some fatter tires, and it's one of the fastest minibikes you guys have. That one is worth putting some work into.
Growing up, dad owned a 1972 CT70. Great hearing that little engine again!! Had a blast in the field around our house!!
I think the wheel alignment is out it's easy to check and if it helps ride straight well worth a look .great fun guys promise us you won't grow up any time soon 😜👍
You're NEVER too old to be immature! 🤣 It's great to be a dude!
TBparts sells cylinders for those bikes, big bore etc and they are good quality
I think part of the rear end slipping out is the play in the swing arm. Also I would inspect how good the rear shocks are. Just a thought. Love the build. Bring new life to an awesome piece of history.
The big grin on your face after you took it for the first lap says it all. More power equals more fun.
When I was a kid, Busch Gardens in Williamsburg had a fleet of Honda Trail 90s, but they were the step-through CT90 model. I didn't realize that they made a Trail 90 so similar to the Trail 70.

Thanks to Charlie for our Annual Christmas Ornaments... :) Dang Boys Be CARFUL Nice Bike Restore needs to change the Gear Ratio or Smaller Engine. :)
Omg I love ike. I wanna go again. Momma I'm going fast !!!!!!!😂😅 blow the leaves off the track, let him rip again
yes tires n tubes are needed - scrambler min type or knobby as the exhaust pipe shows a scramble trail look.. Do a street run too with mph showing from a gps speed o view want to see more...

😂 Charles waving that flag when Ike laid the Ct down..... I bout fell over laughing. Def want to see the CT190 again
Good video I've watched all yalls videos and learned a lot, I want to see Isaac's triumph 650 bobber with the chain break,
Just so happen to think that that is one Lil spicy bike an hope to much more on it! Hope to see more resto on that frame a Lil bit to make her look a bit better for yourselves safely wise. Deff some matching new tires an tubes if needed. Over all glad yall are safe an hope to see this bike in many more videos.
Johnny boy won't get back on after y'all get it fixed to fast for him he left a brown skid mark after he took his spin on it lol 😂🤣🤣
Got my ornament yesterday!! #19. Thanks guys.
Put a paddle tire on the back and take it to the sand drags
That thing had more power then I thought it was gunna have that's a good save of a old bike
The st90 is a hard model to find in the honda minibike world. They hold there value and ones in nice condition go for high prices. That nice oem exhaust is worth several hundred bucks.Sweet
i have a 1 year only qa50 honda minibike cant wait to ride it again next spring
westport wa.state here. can not wait to see the green rat street model guys.
Looking forward to what 2024 brings!!! Love the channel.
I LOVE THIS BIKE!! We definitely need more SY90 content!!
I had an st 90 as a kid and 3 ct 70s . Was fun to tinker with as a kid.
Isaac really ripped it around the track the first time like a pro. Need to let Charles have a shot at it.
This *NEEDS* to be named the *"Scream-cycle"* like a play on the Cream sickle popsicles.
That thing is wicked. Keep safe and have fun. See you soon.
P.S. I love your channel! I live in Washington State....if you make those brackets available, I promise I will find a way to get out there with my 90 to Mini Mayhem! 👍
Yes I need and would by brackets too. Maybe just post the drawing files. Good stuff!
Wow, l am happy for C & C to find an ST-90. If l ever get the chance to get one it is on my list as well. Got a CT-90 a while back and really like that bike. This year l found a 1978 Yammy XT500. Loads of fun from those two. Congrats.
Finally the return of the Honda minibikes! A breath of fresh air from tillitsons.
And Predators
Sweet little bike totally agree that the st90 should have run longer than 3 yrs it's a wicked little Honda. Definitely needs a redemption video. Would be cool to see it on the road
I’m glad I got to see the 212…
I used the frames top bolt hole an made bracket for the lower back bolt.
Great job on those motor mount builds. That is one crazy 90 bike.
So awesome to see this build. I currently am trying to revive my original stock 1974 ST90 (burnt orange too) from when I was a kid. Original motor has some head problems so I've been trying to figure out what engine replacement would be a good swap. Looking forward to seeing how yours handles the pavement.
big big thumbs up and yes needs another go around👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Reminds me of the summer in the mid 60's. A friend of mine was riding a Honda I think it was a 70 trail. He ran over something and it pitched him into a barbed wire fence! He slid down the fence ! He was cut up really bad, but out of the hospital in record time. He was riding the next day!
When Ike was on his last rip across the fields,I was thinking that the motor would be Awesome in a gocart shaped like an Odessey, and then you snuck a glance for us at such.I think a long travel cart you set down into, for balance, would do for those engines justice.
not gonna like its a nice break from just cart engines :) I love all the content but especially the bike engines :) ty for all the content :)
10:06 Cars & Cameras ASMR, man that's so soothing it could put me to sleep
Nice! My parents had trail 70's that they rode everywhere in 1971.
Yea that thing quick I think looks great but yea I think it would be even better with different tires
Thank you for the video and best regards from Germany.
the 3 scenes in the intro
-Ike laying it down
-Charles doing the "oh crap"
-Ike still on the ground saying "I wanna go again"
was pure commedy gold xD
Y'all got new camera? Don't think it once lost focus and left/right transfers are smooth as butter
Love your enthusiasm! Ever done a high performance electric go-cart? That would be cool.
