one week later, they still haven't been able to send either freight trains OR tractor-trailers over that damaged span. They've only been able to send a locomotive over the rail line, and there is currently a 1000 truck backlog to get on ferries. This was NOT a tactical failure. Some analysts believe it could take months to get it freight-worthy again... but we'll see. Also, there's the haunting psychological trauma of 'if they did it once, they can do it again'.

Every major assault on Russia has been conducted from its Western side. Why wouldn't Russia be more protective of its Western border? While the US and Britain were facing 10 German divisions, Russia was facing 200 German divisions in WW2. And now NATO is inching closer to Russian border. Ukraine could've a better future in EU rather than NATO.

Hey, just fyi, Russia saw it coming. Everyone saw it coming. The only question was do you do it now (for the good PR and a favorable news cycle) or do you save it for later when it has more strategic value. It is far from clear that this was smart timing, but it also wasn't a surprise to anyone in Russia. Heck there are oodles of YT uploads on this exact topic!

Rail freight has also not crossed yet either. I believe someone also stated it's not a truck bomb, but here's my explanation.
Though the explosion in the video made it appear as a truck bomb on the surface of the bridge, it's probably unlikely.
If an explosion went off topside, the explosion would appear more spread outwards and less damage would've been done to the underside of the bridge. Realistically, the explosives were probably placed underneath for the bridge to be destroyed the way we've seen the results (railways taken out and bridge pieces fallen downwards into the water).
It's also possible that the explosion could've happened topside (comment if you know anything about this), but I think for that to happen you need heavier ordinance with the ability to blow downwards instead of outwards, but it's the 21st Century, so who knows for certain.

It is extremely unlikely that a truck bomb caused an entire section of the bridge to collapse into the sea. That's the Kremlin's explanation, but not Isaac Newton's. The biggest challenge when constructing a bridge is overcome the pervasive force that wants to take it down: gravity. Bridges require a careful balance of compression and tension to keep the thing from collapsing when weight is added (such as traffic).
So to bring down the bridge would require targeting its support structures, namely the piers holding it up which are UNDER the bridge. The trajectory of energy released by a truck explosion is upwards and outwards, not downwards. There would be a ton of surface damage to the pavement, but would likely not bring down support piers. A truck bomb might work better on a suspension bridge held up by cables.
Whatever the cause, it had to originate from under the bridge. But there is some obscure video evidence it was a maritime drone (unmanned boat) where you can just barely see the bow before it explodes.

And because of this act Russia has scaled up its strikes and changed it from special military operation to anti terror operation which gives Moscow more authorization to use more people and weapons and annexed the eastern part of Ukraine and says it is now sovereign Russian soil and will defend it as such with all means necessary. Things will get more interesting as the battle field is developed further.

Russia does not attack civilians, it attacks only at strategic points, and by the way, Russia has an accurate long-range weapon and it cannot hit houses and gradans, and if there is a risk that it will hit civilians, then they do not launch missiles, and also when this war has just begun, the APU sometimes they themselves sent strikes against their own, confusing them with the Russian military.
