@@YA_LUNNAYA_PONI Agree. I was reflecting more about the speaker scandalised about Russias behavior. The USA has lessons to provide on invading another country. Having said that I don’t approve Russia’s (Puttins) behavior either. All that talk about Russia being threatened by Nato is overdone. Russia’s real concern is to incorporate 40 million Ukrainians in order to become a world power again. However, thanks to the advice Russia got from the USA consultans from 1991 onward, it has become irreversibly corrupt and poor, poorer than during the soviet union. So poor, that even Gorbatchov had to humiliate himself in making an advertisement for pizza hut. China, has chosen another path. As unsettling as it may be to watch millionaires asking a billionaire questions about geopolitics, one has to find hope in Mr. Browders humanity and compassion. Especially notable is his emphasis on being nations of laws - which reflects both his values and his actions. Considering recent colossal financial sector scandals and bank collapses, we need to remain ever conscious of how our values should inform our actions, and that those actions reflect our values.
Russia has to sell its oil at a large discount due to the EU price cap (irrespective of the country buying). Also, it's not cheap and easy to ship the oil to India and China. So Russia is making only marginal profit out of the oil sales. Their production cost is quite high. It's surprising that Bill didn't mention this.

Thanks for posting. Mr. Browder's long history with finance, Russia and Russia's endemic corruption gives him a unique, detailed perspective on Putin, the oligarchs, sanctions, and proper responses to Putin's war. His efforts to pass the Magnitsky act formed a good baseline for the much more extensive sanctions following the invasion of Ukraine. The most disturbing comment was that about trump, It was bad enough when trump won the 2016 presidency through electoral gerrymandering. But even the thought of him winning in 2024 (it would have to again be via. electoral manipulations, not by the popular vote) is deeply upsetting.

Dear Mr Bill Browder, I admire you and are so proud of the difficult but wonderful tasks you undertake to help get rid of the russian regime and the bad ruskies, and at the same time help the ones in need! Thank You Sir!
Everything ends eventually. Europe has seen wars last a century but I doubt that Russia will survive as it is for another 5 years and if it starts to fall apart then the war in Ukraine will be over very quickly.
I never heard of BB before ( my bad) but wow, how educating was that ? Glad we’ve got people like that on our side. I do feel though that the further we live from Russia then the less likely we are to get informed. There are also many companies still doing business with Russia and I think that should be stopped completely, even if it means losing jobs in the west, but we somehow turn a blind eye. Slava Ukraine.
I admire and respect Bill Browder immensely. I have learned a great deal from him in recent years. I will listen to Robert Amsterdam’s perspective but I already know who I appreciate more.
Browder is a very, very wealthy financier, not a politician or normal person who suffers with a 30 % increase in power and general inflation of 8-9 %. Saying we should stop Russian supply of gas and oil is fine with him. It’s pocket money impact for him. He needs interviewers who hit him hard with reality.
Mr. Browder showed a distinct lack of compassion for Russians who are keeping a low profile in these turbulent times. It made me think. Much is said about how Putin has de-politicised the Russian population. This view of things promotes a sense of sympathy regarding the predicament of a people under the authoritarian thumb. Mr. Browder's take on it struck me. I don't like drawing parallels between Nazi Germany and any modern situation, but sometimes the similarities are too similar to ignore. The Russian people's blind eye vis-a-vis what's happening in Ukraine is identical to German apathy to the holocaust under Hitler!
Do you really compare the scale of the atrocities that were committed by Nazi Germany (and I emphasize that it's not just the Holocaust, even more people were killed on the territory of the USSR) with the conflict, where a little less than 10,000 civilians died in a year and a half?
Summary: Bill Browder, a former investor in Russia, discusses the future of the country after recent events. He highlights the vulnerability of Vladimir Putin's regime following a coup attempt and the ease with which a group of mercenaries took over cities without resistance. Browder believes that Putin's grip on power may weaken, leading to potential disintegration or a ruthless purge. He emphasizes that Russia despises weakness and respects strength. Browder's current focus is on two main activities: advocating for the release of Russian opposition activist Vladimir Kara-Murza and campaigning to change the law to use frozen Russian assets to rebuild Ukraine. He argues that sanctions have been effective in pressuring Putin and weakening Russia financially, although there are concerns about unintended consequences. Highlights: 💣 Recent coup attempt in Russia is a significant blow to Vladimir Putin's regime, undermining his image of strength and instilling fear among the populace. 💰 Bill Browder is campaigning for the release of Russian activist Vladimir Kara-Murza and advocating for changing the law to use frozen Russian assets for rebuilding Ukraine. 🌍 Sanctions, such as the Magnitsky Act, have been instrumental in pressuring Putin and freezing Russian assets, impacting oligarchs and limiting Russia's access to international capital markets. 🛢 Browder suggests banning oil imports from Russia to further financially weaken Putin and bring an end to the war in Ukraine. ❌ Browder rejects the argument that sanctions will push Russia towards alternative currencies or drive global South countries to cooperate against the West. 🌐 Developed economies have shown unprecedented cooperation in imposing sanctions on Russia, contrary to previous individualistic economic interests.
I don’t think that this question exists at all. Way too much monstrosity and destruction from RuZZia. There is only one winner here and it’s not Pootin and his evil regime!
@@silviadunderdale9400 You are naive. Only one possible winner? . Does Ukraine win if half the country is contaminated with nuclear contamination? . The purpose of Putin’s double is to avoid assassination and escape.
Russia will never be allowed to win this war because Russia 's victory would bring World War III. The geostrategic goal of Moscow is to rule the whole world, not just to occupy Ukraine and live happily and peacefully ever after. Russia is the Nazi Germany of the 21st century.
Bill Browder knows more about this stuff than just about anyone and to anyone reading this, I highly recommend both of his books 'Red Notice' and 'Freezing Order' (starting with Red Notice). Both read like real-life spy thrillers and offer an exceptional view into the brutal nature of Putin's criminal regime told from the perspective of Putin's #1 most hated enemy, Mr. Bill Browder.
It's so refreshing that Spear's Magazine and the interviewer are completely open and transparent about voicing the concerns of Putin's friends and supporters in Londongrad and The City. Finally someone is sticking up for the folks who've made millions or billions helping out Putin's regime and his cronies.

Так что пусть западные правохоанительные органы отбирают у них все деньги и выбрасывают на улицу из их домов. Российский народ им за это только спасибо скажет.
2:30 I love Browder but, "Putin rules Russia through fear." I think he rules most of the people just by giving them an increasing standard of living, which wasn't true in post-Soviet, pre-Putin Russia. They're mostly happy to go along to get along. They're not afraid of Putin, really. They know that crossing Putin is bad but they're not motivated to cross Putin. They're just good Russians doing what their czar says and trying to enjoy life. To be clear, the standard of living is purely due to selling natural resources and not to Putin's credit. I'm not supporting Putin in any way shape or form, only trying to describe why apolitical Russians actually are pretty happy with him.
Yes, the sanctions are working. The ruble is worth less than before, but you should know that the ruble is not trading freely on the on the global exchanges. It's real value is unknown. What we do know is the ruble is in a down-trend. Russia's profit from oil as gas has also slumped due to the sanctions.
Bill Browder lost a court case in the UK ,and the judge stated that his testimony was not creditable, ( a legal and overtly nice way of saying he's as liar)

Browder totally dropped the ball in addressing the “what about Iraq” question at 44:00. He flubs and avoids the “what aboutism” aspect of it. And nobody was talking about 1991 Gulf War.
The incredible anti-Western help Saudi Arabia toasts Russia by reducing oil production and thereby raising its price totally in favor of Russia's reduced oil sales is never mentioned.
America is capable of producing more oil than the gulf these days so there really isn't much threat. If it came to it, the Democrats would get over their distaste and produce more oil. The Republicans certainly will which will drive down the price of oil. Oh macro economics isn't simple, is it?
Good interview - rich in important details. But didn’t handle the question on the US invasion of Iraq very well. It was a disaster and he should’ve left it at that.
The end has been determined almost ummediately after February 24, 2022. The sanctions and departure of over 1200 major global corporations will inevitably result in the total deindustrialization of Russia in every sector of its economy. There isnt a single area that will escape. It's just a matter ofvtime before machines break down and can't be repaired or replaced. Russia was entirely dependent on outside technical support.

Browder convinced ordinary peasants that those shares were worthless, and purchased them for himself via shell cos that he set up with his acctnt Magnitsky, Browder calls Magnitsky a lawyer -- he was not a lawyer. The Napoleonic Wars resulted in the deaths of approximately three to six million civilians and soldiers, with Napoleon Bonaparte playing a significant role. Similarly, Adolf Hitler, an infamous Nazi leader and mass murderer, was responsible for the death of millions during World War II. Conservative estimates suggest that the war caused casualties ranging from 70 to 85 million, comprising around 3 to 4 percent of the global population. Another example is Joseph Stalin, who deliberately caused the deaths of about six million individuals. Considering foreseeable deaths resulting from his policies, the number rises to around nine million. Likewise, Vladimir Putin, listed as a war criminal by the ICC, initiated airstrikes in Syria in late 2015. The Russian army's invasion has indiscriminately targeted heavily populated civilian areas, resulting in a horrific loss of life. The final casualty count, including casualties from several other countries, is yet to be determined. In the Ukrainian war alone, the estimated number of injured and deaths is at least 500,000. Reflecting on war, past and present, it is evident that we have not learned enough. Such atrocities must cease, as individuals like Putin exhibit psychopathic tendencies and disregard human life.

I mean, you are sort of correct tho? maybe you don't remember, or don't even know that, but the heavy hitting (consumer faced) sanctions started hitting roughly after 2 weeks of the war. so apparently if everything went according to plan (aka taking Kyiv in 3 days) Russia might not have faced nearly as much flak as it did.
But ig you kick someone when they're down
@@YA_LUNNAYA_PONI Agree.

Suggest you read his two autobiographical books - Red Notice and Freezing Order - easy read and page turners.

You mean Ukraine should surrender?
I admire and respect Bill Browder immensely. I have learned a great deal from him in recent years. I will listen to Robert Amsterdam’s perspective but I already know who I appreciate more.
Browder is a very, very wealthy financier, not a politician or normal person who suffers with a 30 % increase in power and general inflation of 8-9 %. Saying we should stop Russian supply of gas and oil is fine with him. It’s pocket money impact for him. He needs interviewers who hit him hard with reality.

what is the price of tolerating Russia's aggression? to not only you and me, the Russian people also.
@@joythought energy prices is one item of hundreds of increased prices of items. Inflation.
Didn’t this guy take part in asset stripping/selling of national assets at massive knockdown prices?
Did he??
I would like to hear the other side of the story.

Summary:
Bill Browder, a former investor in Russia, discusses the future of the country after recent events.
Highlights:
💣 Recent coup attempt in Russia is a significant blow to Vladimir Putin's regime, undermining his image of strength and instilling fear among the populace.
The future of Russia after the war is highly dependent upon who ‘wins’ the war.
RuZZia will fail, ivan
Russia will never be allowed to win this war because Russia 's victory would bring World War III. The geostrategic goal of Moscow is to rule the whole world, not just to occupy Ukraine and live happily and peacefully ever after. Russia is the Nazi Germany of the 21st century.
Go to bed
Good answers and good thoughts Dr. Bill .....

Wonderful video. It should be broadcast everywhere.

Sanctions have worked? How much is the ruble worth today?
Yes, the sanctions are working. The ruble is worth less than before, but you should know that the ruble is not trading freely on the on the global exchanges. It's real value is unknown. What we do know is the ruble is in a down-trend. Russia's profit from oil as gas has also slumped due to the sanctions.

The end has been determined almost ummediately after February 24, 2022. There isnt a single area that will escape. It's just a matter ofvtime before machines break down and can't be repaired or replaced. Russia was entirely dependent on outside technical support.

Yeah, Putin is really a good guy, and Ukraine is run by Nazis. F-wit,
How can you say that there is rule of law in the USA while Julian Assange remains imprisoned?
Bill Browded thank you for information
