Not a Falcons fan or Washington fan but I said the whole draft process Penix will probably be the best or second best QB in this draft class. Was it dumb to draft him after signing Kirk? Yes, but it will end up working out for ATL in the long run.

Since 2018 (in the NFL), Kirk is 4th in TDs, has THE highest comp%, 5th highest rate, 7th lowest INT%, and a pro bowler for half his starting career. You think Kirk is going to get beat out by a rookie? Not a chance in hell, Penix is not that good, yet. He will at least understand why he is holding the clipboard when things really get going in camp.
No. If serious about winning with the best team on the field, then OPEN COMPETETION. Across the board, EVERY position. Penix beats Kirk out, so be it. Let the best man win.
