Pegasus, you need to do the live version of this song. You will see the hips, voice, girls screaming, interaction with his singers. The whole package in this live version.
This studio version is far superior because he fucked around with the lyrics too much in the live shows, probably because he was high and thought it was funny, but IMO he just ruined the song.
After seeing all of the comments, I just had to go watch the live performance from Vegas. Holy cow, it's unbelievable!! BP, you have to see it, even if just watching without a reaction.
@@AuntK68 It was amazing. O was crazy about Elvis even as a toddler. I cried through the entire 1st concert. The second I was less emotional and could actually see clearly.
Love your reactions! How, How ,How did you not react to the official video of Elvis doing Suspicious Minds live in Vegas 1970. One of the best live performances ever filmed. If you watch it, wear a seatbelt!!!
Freddy mercury wrote Crazy Little Thing Called Love in honor of Elvis Presley that's why he sings like him in the song, there was a reason the called him the king, he has so many great songs you should hear In the Ghetto that's a great song
Piece of trivia…Whitney Houston’s mom sang backup for Elvis….Elvis sang only 3 times outside of the US (all in Canada and early in his career in the 50’s)…..If not for Elvis, chances are there wouldn’t be an Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor. When they ran out of money in building the memorial, Elvis agreed to do a benefit concert, on one condition. All the musicians and anyone working on the concert would not get paid. Everyone had to donate their time. They didn’t call him the King of Rock and Roll for nothing. 🎶🎶🎶♥️🎸🎶🎶
probably my favourite Elvis song. as others have requested, please watch the live version of Elvis singing this in Vegas; maybe check it out with Don. Also a must see is Elvis singing 'An American Trilogy' live in Hawaii ..... goosebumps !
Love anything by Elvis but his lives performances of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “You Gave Me A Mountain” are my two all time favorites. They give him a chance to belt out that voice and he gives his all in what he sings.
I was fortunate enough to have seen Elvis at the Capital Center in Largo Maryland outside of Washington DC in June 1976. Elton John and Lisa Marie were there and Elvis introduced them in the audience. I was 15 years old. Elvis said since this is the bicentennial would everyone stand up and sing America the beautiful with him. It was so great
THE LIVE VERSION !! YOU MUST SEE THE LIVE VERSION OF THIS SONG!! I'm sure you're going to hear this many times as the number of comments grow. But the live version is an iconic performance, and was brilliantly replicated by the young actor Austin Butler in the recent biopic movie about Elvis. But you just got to react to that live performance in Las Vegas. Elvis KILLED it!! Gives me chills just thinking about it. 🎵🎸💃🎶
That tall, skinny guy in the Righteous Brothers is Bill Medley. He was a friend of Elvis's and they played Las Vegas at the same time in the 70s. There's a great interview with Bill where he tells stories about Elvis. He also wrote a wonderful tribute song when Elvis died entitled 'Old Friend'.
This was his 30th and final number one hit from 1969. He had several top 10 hits in the 70s and toured extensively but this was his last number one. The commenters are correct the 1970 live from Las Vegas version is all time video worth a second reaction!
In the '60s ELVIS was invited to appear on "The Frank Sinatra Show". He was just back from the Army and was given an almost ten minutes for two songs, "Fame and Fortune" and another! Ending his performances with a duet with Frank Sinatra himself, one for the history books!
Thank you so much for speaking up for Elvis and for being so open and honest about how much you like him 👍❤ This studio version is great and his voice is amazing as always and, also as always, he puts so much emotion into what he's singing about. However, as others have already said, you really should react to the live version from 1970 in Vegas. It won't matter that you have already heard the song now as his performance will blow you away! 😊
The live version in concert when the slow down part of the song hits Elvis would do his karate crouch down almost doing a split in his tight jumpsuit and he would often sing I hope this suit don’t tear up baby, instead of let’s don’t let a good thing die, you know I’d never lie to you
Please react to Elvis performing this 3:18 live in 1970, as part of That's the way it is. Then you will really see what Elvis is all about. Superb performance.
There IS a Reason why Elvis is known as the King of Rock n Roll! "Kentucky Rain" next please! I remember exactly where I was when they came across the Radio and made the anouncement that Elvis had Passed (August 17,1977)!
If you want to be really amazed by Elvis, check out In the Ghetto and If I Can Dream. Also check out his gospel songs. Most people don't realize that was the only genre that he won Grammy Awards for, not his pop songs. His voice is timeless.
Just because an artist of today is selling a lot of albums/streams or whatever; doesn't make them better. It just shows you that the younger generation don't have a clue about great music.
I actually like this, the radio version better. When he’s live, I watch him. This song is so great. You can hear all the musical components. 1969, a great year for music!
I had the biggest crush on Elvis back when I was about 4 years old…and that was back in the 50’s! Or so my mother told me….lol! Loved his movies in the 60’s!
The Elvis comedy takes he did were pretty funny. "An old friend I know - blow it out your nose" And "honey I never lied to you - ooh, no not much". Lol
A lot of people don't know that one of Elvis' biggest musical influences was Dean Martin. When you compare the two you can hear the similarities, especially on his less rockin' songs.
Elvis is one of the greatest! Every year on my birthday I get to hear Elvis music in commemoration of his death in 1977. (By local radio stations). It’s bittersweet but a blessing as well.
This was a cover and his live version had some of Elvis's best dance moves. Each Elvis song you react to will be fire. Even his live version of Why Me Lord, a gospel song written by Kris Kristofferson.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe Kris Kristofferson also wrote Bobby McGee. I have it in my head that he and Janice were good friends. I also feel like Kris Kristofferson may have written Sunday morning coming down, but I know it as being sung by Johnny Cash who is the freaking goat just like his buddy Chris just like their buddy Janice there is a rock ‘n’ roll heaven with one hell of a band cause unfortunately most of the musicians got burned a lot walking through hell but I see you hear you and feel you as well! I’m trying to redirect the flames so y’all can dance your way out
The original songwriter and singer was Mark James, his version failed to find commercial success. Elvis version of "Suspicious Minds" became successful thanks to his strong vocal performance, energy and the unique arrangement by producer Chips Moman. Elvis made it a major hit by infusing it with his unique vocal style, charismatic performance, and powerful production. Elvis version, released in 1969, featured a dramatic arrangement and an emotionally charged delivery that resonated with audiences, ultimately reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and solidifying its place as one of his signature songs. It wasn't just about the song itself, it was about the delivery. Elvis's unique phrasing, his emotional intensity, and the overall production of his version all combined to create a timeless classic.
@ I don’t know if there’s any truth to it, but I always thought that the inspiration for Alannah Myles Black Velvet was Elvis he embodied the fullness of the story of all of the people of the mighty Mississippi and we mighty Miss him
You don’t get to wear the title and crown of rock and roll unless you are electric in both your body mind, heart spirit, and soul long live the king with the head Turner, who could always make rocks roll. He respected his father and loved his mother, so he was backed by the whole.
@springsoleiluna9090 I completely agree with you! It’s fascinating to think about how Elvis embodied so much of the culture and stories of the people of the mighty Mississippi. His influence is undeniable, and it really adds depth to Alannah Myles’ song "Black Velvet." The connection between them highlights the rich musical history of that region and speaks to the lasting impact of artist like Elvis. We mighty do miss him deeply.
There was no rock n roll like Elvis Presley. With his first performance on tv they only showed him from the belt up because of his hip movements later that same night, I assume of all the women screaming & even fainting the cameras did show his gyrations of his hips & Elvis Presley was a household name.
He learned music from bb king, sammy Davis ect because they were his childhood friends!!!!!! Also they gave him the option to go to army or jail and loose status over his fights for civil rights!! This was my grammas favorite❤
Another great reaction, my friend.. you need to react to the live version of this song you want to see a switch up !! he has the crowd going wild whenever you have a chance check out the live version you won’t be sorry
He isn't the King for no reason! Let's listen to all 30! LOL I've got a couple of one of a kind pictures of him. I won't tell you how because I'm not sure it was legal and I love my Mom. 😁🔥💖
This is one of my favorite Elvis songs. Dwight Yoakam does a great cover of it also. There are a lot of great Elvis songs to get to but I would suggest "In the Getto" and "A Little Less Conversation".
Suspicious Minds by Elvis Presley is a timeless classic due to its emotional depth and powerful vocals. The lyrics explore universal feelings of doubt and mistrust in relationships, creating a deep emotional connection with listeners. Elvis's vocal range is insane.
My mother's favorite song. She loved it for so many years and she used to say it sounded like angels singing in the background and she always wanted to know who sang it. When I told her it was Elvis she almost died. She even grew up with all of Elvis but for whatever reason just never realized this song was his.
According to Casey Kasem of American Top 40, Elvis had between 14 and 17 number one hits on the Billboard Singles Chart. The Beatles lead with 20 number one hits😮😊
BP if you want to dig into #1 songs, Alabama has 40 #1 songs in country music and George Strait has 60 #1 songs in country music. Both are rabbit holes worthy of going down. Alabama- Love In The First Degree and George Strait- Ocean Front Property. Keep on with these great reactions. Thanks BP!
Pegasus, you need to do the live version of this song. You will see the hips, voice, girls screaming, interaction with his singers. The whole package in this live version.
You will feel Elvis not just hear him in the live version of this.
If you do the live version I think the Vegas 1970 one is the best
This studio version is far superior because he fucked around with the lyrics too much in the live shows, probably because he was high and thought it was funny, but IMO he just ruined the song.
YES‼‼‼‼‼‼‼
Yes! You would LOVE the performance he puts on in the live version - it's like a whole other animal!
After seeing all of the comments, I just had to go watch the live performance from Vegas. Holy cow, it's unbelievable!! BP, you have to see it, even if just watching without a reaction.
And I got to see him in concert twice in 1972 as a 10 & 11 year old.
@toodlescae That must have been incredible!
@@toodlescae Me, too!! Only I was 9 years old. 😊
@@AuntK68 It was amazing. O was crazy about Elvis even as a toddler. I cried through the entire 1st concert. The second I was less emotional and could actually see clearly.
Too true. Listen to this person, BP. 👏
Love your reactions! How, How ,How did you not react to the official video of Elvis doing Suspicious Minds live in Vegas 1970. One of the best live performances ever filmed. If you watch it, wear a seatbelt!!!
I just commented the same thing
Because when people request a reaction they likely don't provide the link.
Listen to your audience, we all want the live!!
simmer down, some love the recorded version. Also, due to copywrite he might have to pick and choose versions.
The live version is🔥🔥🔥 Huge fan of Elvis❤️ So many good and heartfelt songs.
Omgg Suspicious minds in Vegas live will blow your mind not just have your head boppin. You will feel it with your whole body ❤
Freddy mercury wrote Crazy Little Thing Called Love in honor of Elvis Presley that's why he sings like him in the song, there was a reason the called him the king, he has so many great songs you should hear In the Ghetto that's a great song
He already reacted to the studio version of in the Ghetto. ❤
Didn’t know that. Makes sense
Yes good music gets your mind into a new zone even if you feel sad I requested In the Ghetto too

probably my favourite Elvis song. as others have requested, please watch the live version of Elvis singing this in Vegas; maybe check it out with Don. Also a must see is Elvis singing 'An American Trilogy' live in Hawaii ..... goosebumps !
Speaking of Hawai’i-Elvis donated money to make the USS Arizona a national monument.
Love anything by Elvis but his lives performances of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “You Gave Me A Mountain” are my two all time favorites. They give him a chance to belt out that voice and he gives his all in what he sings.

Just about every live version of Elvis is great!
just like everyone has already written. You have to see Elvis live to fully experience him. His presence alone is magical.

In the '60s ELVIS was invited to appear on "The Frank Sinatra Show".

Kentucky Rain- Elvis. BP this is another #1 amazing song sung by the King. Love to see you react to it!
Agreed
His voice...omg!
OMG, Elvis is like the Beatles, you can listen to every song and each one is a masterpiece.
More people on the planet now so comparing numbers isn't fair. Elvis was a unicorn!
My favorite Elvis song.
Mine too!

You should have done the video version of this song where he shows some dance moves and his sense of humor.
Just because an artist of today is selling a lot of albums/streams or whatever; doesn't make them better. It just shows you that the younger generation don't have a clue about great music.
Also music today reaches millions more people than back in the old days because of the new technology

My hands down favorite Elvis Presley song! I love how it fades in and out at the end!
Need to react to the Live version in Vegas!!!!
Elvis: Mystery Train, is well-worth a listen
Love me some Elvis. Growing up in my day, I would be screaming for him. Great artist and person. He was not Just a musician and a actor.
Elvis is one of the greatest! Every year on my birthday I get to hear Elvis music in commemoration of his death in 1977. (By local radio stations). It’s bittersweet but a blessing as well.
I'm not a huge Elvis fan but this song is fire
Can we give a shout out to whoever the drummer was on this one? Fantastic!

you have only scratched the surface.....and no autotune.
You play the best oldies. But your outro keeps ringing in my ears as "Thank you for being cement. 40 miles and back again..."
I do like Elvis’s songs as my Dad listened to his music when I was growing up. But I like Elvis’s songs Kentucky Rain and In the Ghetto.
He used this song as his close/encore performance. What a voice! Gone too young!
He isn't the King for no reason! Let's listen to all 30! LOL I've got a couple of one of a kind pictures of him. I won't tell you how because I'm not sure it was legal and I love my Mom. 😁🔥💖
I have always loved Elvis. ❤ Loved your reaction, BP!! Elvis gets ya. I hope you'll react to "Kentucky Rain". One of my favorite songs from him. 🤍
“Elvis is the truth” 💯 that beat switch is everything
There will never be another Elvis. I cried when he died. I remember my Mom cried as well.
❤That is why he was called the King. 30 #1 hits as a solo artist.... and probably could have had more....he was away in the Army for two years.

Elvis was the first concert I ever went to. No other concert was better. And I’ve seen some great bands!
Love this song. He was such an amazing entertainer
One of my favorites!
You need to react to the Live version!!!
Favorite song by Elvis!
I remember seeing him perform this in concert. Saw him 3x and each time was magical
Many rate this as one of if not his best songs

When I told her it was Elvis she almost died. She even grew up with all of Elvis but for whatever reason just never realized this song was his.
Another vote for the live version reaction here. You won't regret it and neither will we. His stage presence was unreal.
According to Casey Kasem of American Top 40, Elvis had between 14 and 17 number one hits on the Billboard Singles Chart. The Beatles lead with 20 number one hits😮😊
Billoard failed to count many of Elvis' top hits in the fifties.
Live version of Elvis You Gave me a Mountain ♥️🔥🔥🔥
Watch the live from Vegas version one day. Another level!
The 70s would never have been the Same with out Elvis Presley being a part of the 70s
Thanks BP!
He worked his hips nonstop live singing this. The crowd went wild! You haven't reacted unless you play the Live
You should check out Dwight Yoakams version as well. It's so good!
Hope this is the live one with him dancing fantastically!!
I am loving this channel. ❤️👍
One of my all-time favorite Elvis songs!
