Yeah, a controlled hell hole of a country run by people who think they can do what they want to any human. Sad this day and age these lot live in such a terrible radical country. Saying that once they start to mine the massive Cobalt reserves from underneath this will feed the Taliban into such wealth it will makes this place even worse.
Obviously the Taliban regime is trying to paint a positive picture to the west, which is fair I suppose, although it'd be easier to do so by allowing women to get an education
The raw human interaction in this video is refreshing and needed. The highly produced version of Afghanistan we see in our media makes it feel distant and otherworldly. Well done bald!
As a young child growing up in the 70s we had a afghan man stay on my dad's farm in Australia for a number of months to study farming practices. It was just before the Russians invaded his country. He was a really nice man that showed me & my sisters a card trick and gave my parents an afghan rug. Your videos reminded me of him and whilst I could see your tension, in general it can be seen that the afghan people are a good and kind people trapped in a cycle of disharmony,
It's the USSR not Russia, the ruling Afghanistan communist party govt. had sought the help of USSR to counter the religious parties and groups who want Afghanistan to turn into Sharia law driven Islamic country. West,USA and Pakistan along with the Saudis had started to support the Muslim religious fanatic figures and established them as Mujahideen i.e. religious warriors fighting against non believers. Foreign resistant groups like Laden's Al Qaeda joined them during the 1980s. After the Soviet departure one of a strong ultra religious group out of these Islamic Mujahideen had turned into Taliban and waged war against westranisation as it wants Sharia based society. Progressive and modern elements of Afghan society were killed by US & westerns themselves under the guise of supporting freedom fighters fighting against invaders.

I have a friend that trekked through Afghanistan in the early '60's. One night they stayed in a small village and ontinued down the trail the next morning. They were quite alarmed to see a good number of the villagers following them, chattering excitedly. They feared that the villagers were waiting to get out of sight on the village and would then kill and rob them. They cam around a bend and were confronted with a rope bridge strung out across a deep canyon. The villager crowded around them and they noticed money being flashed and changing hands. They cam to realize the villagers were betting on whether they could cross the bridge without falling off to their death. He and his friend made it across and lived to tell the story.

@@wavell14 So only Miles is allowed to travel to Afghanistan? Nevermind the countless number of youtubers who've done it too, all "copying" Miles
Also Miles' content sucks
Only one thing legt on his to do list: Zaporizia
Not true. Indigo Traveller has been doing this for years.
Myeah nah, there's quite a few travel vloggers doing it recently. Seems almost like some organized PR effort from the taliban.
Not only is he back but he’s back with a classic adventure! What stunning landscapes and what lovely people. More pls Mr Bald
That girl in the market was absolutely adorable! God bless her!
Great video, Bald!
I genuinely thought he would stop posting after his last video. I'm so glad that this isn't the case. I can't wait to see more remote regions of the world through Bald's unique perspective!
Why? He only said he was stopping his soviet adventure never said stopping RUclips
@@domgiblin4280 He did say he'd stop youtube multiple times on instagram back in the day. I guess he changed his mind
@@thepigmaster8193 I think he realized how much more he could explore, he seems to be finding love for the middle east with thee syria and Afghanistan vids. Hoping he goes to Pakistan one day
@@Thomson07 Pakistan is nice
This was one hell of a video. I’ve never ever seen a tourist in Afghanistan. This vlog was done bravely, thoroughly and holding nothing back against the Ts or the Is. 👏👏🙏🏼
