  • 🇵🇰I have always wanted to travel to mysterious Kafiristan which is nestled in a couple of small valleys in the north of Pakistan. However to reach the northern mountains I would first need to pass through Balochistan, a region of the country that had been fought over for millennia but never quite conquered. In fact just the day before i arrived Iran bombed it. So let's just say, things didn't quite go as expected when I met the Pakistani military...Join me as we cruise the streets of Quetta.

Edit: it seems Alexander the Great didn’t go through the Bolan Pass as I thought 😂 Ffs!

I want to tell you guys a story. I got so inspired by Bald to travel the way he does and took an impromptu trip to Nepal and Bhutan last July. I went without booking a return ticket and traveled by land from Nepal to Bhutan via India. I spoke with many many folks on the way (this was never my way to travel previously) and I have some 20 new friends now!
I don't want to bore you with a long story, so I'll just mention the highlight of my trip. I met two guys - Nishchal and Bijay on a bus from Kathmandu and Pokhara. They are still very good friends and we keep pinging each other from time to time. I checked on them when there was an earthquake in Nepal, and they did the same when Chennai was flooded in December. I was in Pokhara for a week, and Nishchal would come every evening to my hotel to pick me up to show me new places or introduce me to more of his friends. Among the many people I met, I also learned about what they were doing in their lives, careers, etc., and connected unrelated people with each other based on their mutual interests. Bijay is an environmental engineer, and I introduced him to a guy whose mission is to keep the water bodies of Nepal safe (nobody pays him to do that, he samples the water quality and stuff on his own). I am reminded of that incident when Bald introduces Kolya to another lonely villager who lives nearby.
I think I've unlocked some inner superpower by suppressing that awkwardness while meeting and talking to new people. Even Nishchal and Bijay told me that although they've made the journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara countless times, they've never spoken to a stranger before. Thank you Bald, here's to a long, healthy, peaceful, and prosperous life mate 🍻

when you step outside into the unknown, all you will find is more of yourself. you are not just a human, your entire being has 2 parts, you and your higher self. Your higher self is extreamly good at syncronisation and timing. It can use this unknown window to fill your reality full of exciting events, highly advanced organsing princples beyond our imagination. So let me tell you know, your higher self is super happy that you took the leap of faith and im sure it wants you to continue, and hold positive beliefs about yourself and your environment. If you continue to be passionate then your higher self will continue to be exciting. Because that is what your excitement is.... your higher-selfs resonant frequency. Excitement is not an emotion, its spiritual resonanace. Hope you dont mind me sharing metaphysical principles with you. Unproven but when you apply it, its obviously true.

Hey bald parts of Pakistan you visited were next to border with afghanistan and iran as expected to be rough being border cities like detroit near canadian border or hamilton of canada.i am also surprise as to no visit or showing cities like lahore islamabad skardu hunza valley and only country in world with most 8000 plus meters high peaks and biggest glacier outside antartic region. No mughal history and how British colonialized and oppressed people of this region. This was not complete and actual picture of pakistan. Even this was Ben's third visit to Pakistan, he got so much love in pakistan and probably have dozens of videos showing the beauty and hospitality of this land. On the other hand communism seems to inspire you and what it did to the people during that time. World know about Stalins barbaric era. Before partition pakistan india being one country were very prosperous and wealthy however when British came over to trade but then backstabbed bringing military and colonized india. During more then 100 years under colonialism British seems to gutted this region by trillions of dollars in today's wealth. One more thing if you Google Dharavi in Mumbai india is the biggest slum of Asia. Also want to mention how British responsible of millions of death during partition by providing no security and backpacking entire resources before partition causing bloodshed and anarchy. Till this day Pakistan and india suffering over Kashmir, thanks to hard working British people who divided this country. Also want to mention that thanks to your country that whole world is dealing with issue of Hamas Palestine and Israel. Please do not glorify colonialism and communism.

Bald doesn’t know how important this video is for so many Sindhis across the world who will never ever be able to physically see Sindh because of political reasons. This route had huge historical significance and Ofcourse a lot of sad stories of people suffering and losing their homeland and becoming refugees.
P.S being a Brit,Bald could be more proud and aware of British history. He keeps talking about going via “Sukkur “ . The Lansdowne Bridge over the Indus at Sukkur was one of the great engineering feats of the 19th century. The longest cantilever bridge ever built, it had to support the load of heavy steam locomotives. The bridge was inaugurated in 1889 and show’s British engineering genius even 150 years back- still standing-bald missed the opportunity to show it!
My own family for centuries and beyond were staying on the banks of Indus in Sukkur where this bridge was built.

If I heard correctly (and it's very possible I didn't) the fella at 28:40 said he spoke Brahui? If so, that's an interesting language. It's related to the languages of south India, and its the furthest flung of all the languages of the Dravidian groups of languages. Pre history is very mysterious, but many people believe that this language is the last remnant of the languages spoken in the Indus valley or Harappan civilisation still in that region, before Sanskrit entered the region.
