    This guy at 9:14 here deserves a nice tip for this honesty ..... As you can tell, he was told by locals to charge you more because you're a foreigner but he refused. It is nice to see honest ,good people exist even in the poorest areas of this planet.

    Some easy tips in Dhaka (or Bangladesh)-
    1. If you Don't want something -just say No/Na (sounds pretty similar and everyone understands that)
    2. Don't mix rice with curry, smash that curry into your rice and enjoy.
    3. If yoy are not sure then ask around for the price, someone knows English and 400% they will help you. Just ask loud so that many people hear that.
    For Kurt, you have great shots. The way you took that Red Beatle nut Chacha in the frame while taking that Paan, Just wow!

I live in Romania and in my city there are many Bangladeshi immigrants that work in factories for little money, first i didn't understand why they would come here to do this slave work and sleep with 10 guys in one room... but now i see where they come from i understand completely. Bangladesh looks like a nightmare to me, thank God i was born in Europe.

      I used to live in a posh spa town in the UK. I found it very difficult to make friends and the people were very reserved and seems more unhappy than the people of Dhaka, even though 99.9% of them have a lot less than we do here in the UK

      If you don't have anything, you can't lose much more. People don't care to give something; they've simply lost the will to care. Personally, I've found that the more money I have in the bank, the more reserved I am about keeping it that way or making it grow even further. Greed tends to increase over time.

      I think because people in disadvantaged / poor positions often develop inferiority complexes and automatically respect more those who are "better" than them. In fact you wouldn't seem them acting so nice to poorer countrymen.
      Another factor is the inferiority complex towards Europeans, so if you're African I doubt you'll receive the same treatment

    GREAT video! Fact: I have travelled about 100 countries and Bangladeshi are THE nicest population I have ever come across, they have absolutely nothing but they will never try to get one cent of extra out of you. I spent 2 weeks there travelling across the entire country few years back, and it was one of the most tiredning and rewarding trips of my life. You cannot always choose the environment where you are born, but you can choose who you are. I don’t pray but god bless the Bangladeshi people in order to make their lives easier one day because they fucking earn it!

    I met a lot of people from Bangladesh in the Maldives, so I decided to go there, and the experience was much the same....great memories....and great for people to see the real life in the streets of Dhaka.     Grew up praying with Bangladeshi people and its an honor to be praying with them, very sweet and soft spoken people. Even though the country itself is horrible and neglected mostly because of the government and the countries history, I hope the Bengali people get to finally live in a clean and well maintained country one day.

    You do so well at adjusting to new cultures on your travels. Your disposition is (apparently) easy to accept and you assimilate quickly.
    Fascinating documenting your travels and I'm especially curious about your time here in Bangladesh. I've met some Bangladeshi men in South US that owned a liquor store and were somehow able to source some amazing Scotch I could drink among friends.

The part of old dhaka and route you choose by boat are not even visited by local people as that side is known as the dump area for all the garbages of such huge population! And the last area you had visited is known as outer part of old dhaka!

    Im from Germany and I have to say Bangladeshis are very nice People and hard workers aswell. I worked with two bangladeshis at a small beach bar and they were working harder and more effizient than anyone i ever worked with. They could do the work of 3 people at the same time and they were always super friendly although they didnt let anyone fool them. To any Bangladeshis out there, stay the way you are ! greetings from Germany
