Love these videos! I found Kurt's channel only yesterday as youtube suggested it to me. Never watched any travel video before. Kurt has charm, he's good with people and ready to jump into any situation with strangers. I have watched 6 videos so far (Venezuela, Peru, Papua New Guinea, Kenya and 2 Bangladeshi). In this video, though, I can see some uneasyness in him. Don't blame him: Been to Dhaka I know how intense it can be. Shooting a video must make it many times more intense! Madness, Kurt says, a few times. That's what traveling in Dhaka (etc.) feels like: you love it and hate it at the same. And showing this Kurt is good at. But even in Dhaka you can find surprisingly quiet alleys between busy roads. No cars, no rush. But as Kurt is #1 toughest traveler he takes you right into action.

Also reassuring to see someone as well travelled as you are still getting overwhelmed by the chaos that is Bangladesh. Such a wild place, I wish I saw more of it
This is raw footage at its best, the way they gather around you when stop and them some follow you, its like you are a movie star, that is one crowded city, you stay safe in your travels
Yes, because too much money and power over others seems to corrupt by default. It's the western cancer, which we have plenty here. Endless greed and soulless disconnection.
If you don't have anything, you can't lose much more. People don't care to give something; they've simply lost the will to care. Personally, I've found that the more money I have in the bank, the more reserved I am about keeping it that way or making it grow even further. Greed tends to increase over time.
I think because people in disadvantaged / poor positions often develop inferiority complexes and automatically respect more those who are "better" than them. In fact you wouldn't seem them acting so nice to poorer countrymen. Another factor is the inferiority complex towards Europeans, so if you're African I doubt you'll receive the same treatment

This guy deserves all the money he gets from RUclips. He’s literally saved me tens of thousands of dollars by visiting all these different cities such as this one and ensured my savings by guaranteeing I will never ever visit said places.
Thank you Kurt!
The people are so friendly. I mean, just dozens of people happy to see a guest in their country.
Im sure they are very friendly, absolutely no doubt, but frankly these living conditions are so squalid that I would be afraid to eat anything with any real enjoyment.
I gotta say the people here really seem to be generally good. No one harassed and seemed like everyone was looking out for you with best intentions. Really impressed

They're poor in mind, very respectful people.
Hygiene should be a priority, India and Pakistan don't care about hygiene. And they choose to be that way. I've been to a poorer place, but they had the Hygiene. Why not eat with a spoon for example? Too many diseases there, you can easily catch them. People who suffer from Asthma can easily die due to the air pollution.
They're not poor. Their country is cheaper than ours. Just because they have less money doesn't mean they're poor.

As a Bangladeshi this is hilarious to watch. Love my people. Some of these people are INCREDIBLY poor and don't even have access to proper hygiene facilities but they are still clean hearted and generous. I could hear in the background when he was buying the hat, someone in crowd said to the seller to overcharge Kurt but the seller said no and that he said 100 is the price.

Kurt such a legend. Not just travel but learning the culture as well ❤
Dirty, polluted, poor but everyone was friendly and generous! We could learn a thing or two about gratitude from these people in developed countries.
developed countries are too busy lost in their movies, music, propoganda and idiocracy
About 10 years ago i went there for work, ime fairly well travelled. The people were great.
@@burningzappa I'd rather be lost in movies, music, propaganda or whatever than spend one minute in this hellhole. I live in Romania and in my city there are many Bangladeshi immigrants that work in factories for little money, first i didn't understand why they would come here to do this slave work and sleep with 10 guys in one room... but now i see where they come from i understand completely. Bangladesh looks like a nightmare to me, thank God i was born in Europe.
I used to live in a posh spa town in the UK. I found it very difficult to make friends and the people were very reserved and seems more unhappy than the people of Dhaka, even though 99.9% of them have a lot less than we do here in the UK
@@rjflores438I wouldn't blame the people for their unhappiness, better to blame the cost of living and government control. The people in Bangladesh appear to be without much restriction.
Loved this one. Brought me back to my own trip in Bangladesh. I was laughing as you're just having a normal interaction and pan the camera to see the crowd of people around you has grown!
There is a pattern all over the world - the poorest are always the most generous
