anywhere but So. Cal. has actual weather! Great Northwest checking in. Yes, need actual boots, shoes for rain, mud, snow, etc. We still aspire to look good! I know Nordstrom has great boots. I have a few for the weather but would like to update as they are a few years old. Helpppppp!!!
I live in the Northeastern United States. Our winters are a mess, as is the spring. Our spring auctions are called "mud sales" for a reason. There are nice rain boots that are colorful and functional, use to be called goulashes. I carry my shoes in my purse or an extra bag and wear rain boots when it's warmer. For winter I buy a brand of boots called "muck boots, or bogs". Bogs come in fun colors and are insulated and water proof. If it's not too bad I wear leather ankle boots and keep them well oiled.

I wear a boot to work then if it is too warm inside or doesn't match the outfit, I change shoes at work. I don't think it's as important to have your travel shoes matching your outfit, it's just getting you to work where you spend more time. If it looks good with your coat that is a bonus. Do you spend a lot of time on public transportation and want to look fashionable there, too? I just drive from my house to work and back and so it doesn't matter as much to me.

My favorite snow boots are the classic "Bean Boot" by LL Bean. I paid just under $200 for mine back in 2001 and they still look new 17 years later. Well worth the investment.

Can’t wear a lot of shoes because my feet are so narrow (shoes literally just fall right off) so some of these are immediately out, but gives me some inspiration.
I also think Australian sandal brand Pieds should be featured - they're SUPER comfy, non leather and perfect to wear with denim shorts and tees, to and from the beach, and also to yoga. The Original Silver sandals are my personal fave!! @t

I agree but I love color on my shoes and I think you could have dropped a pair of red or leopard pumps of flats. They lift any outfit especially the minimalist or monocromatic or even be combined with colorfull clothes.

Thanks tons of great info. I have heard the dirty taupe called "mushroom color". Sorrel (pronounced Soar-all is an edible plant) is the best boot when it's super cold outside and you want to be outside for hours. They are so warm but too warm for indoors (like shopping)
