Thank you for making content catered to people living in colder winter climates even though the place where you live doesn’t require this level of winter coziness!
I live in Western WA with varied weather. It is so important to layer up. I too, don't like the air on my tummy. It makes me feel ill...weird, I know! My fave type of sock is from Sockwell. They make a fab knee high wool/cashmere blend! Stay warm and cozy this season!
I love how all the info you gave are perfect even for super harsh cold winter. It goes down to -40°C/°F where I live (Montréal, Canada) and this is the first time I feel like a Winter Basic video applies to my reality! All I would have to do is add layers under my parka or pants/jeans if it's too cold. Also kuddo for not being afraid to show REAL winter boots like Sorel, not just the fancy ones who aren't good in a 30-40cm snowstorm. Once again, thank you queen! ♥
Can you please do a similar one for summer? I love these videos! You save so much of my time when i am trying to figure out what buy when creating a personal year-round capsule wardrobe.
Just found you a couple weeks ago and can't stop watching your videos! You're so stylish and informative and it's clear how much effort you put into editing and providing links/alternative products. Wishing you so much more continued success!
Honey yes! Thick leggings under all of my pants! I'm into bright scarves and hats because of dark coats and messy weather so I'm visible and don't get hit by a car! Also in the Northeast US, we get lots of rain and puffers tend to get soggy. I found a warm waterproof outdoor/ski? coat at the thrift so that and my black down are my two winter coats. I wanted to replace my dressier wool coat with a new one but I'm kind of over it. the black down coat is my dressy one lol... Accept me in my parka or puffer, cause my outfit underneath is bomb lol 😂🤷🏾♀️😎 coat check!
Oh my gosh those Marc Fisher boots!!! I need them in my life!!! As a new englander you did a great job with this, for us up here I almost feel like we’ve become resistant to the cold 😂 we all just go numb from December to March lol
Great video as always. I agree with your list as a resident of DC, where it gets cold. I think a non parka coat is important for events/work travel. I do use a parka (a true weather rated one, not just a fashion one) on very cold days but I do not use it when I go to a special event or if I am traveling for work and meeting with clients. A parka seems inappropriate. I also have a pair of sorel boots - I use them only when it snows but for the few times a year I need them, they are a must. I will say that last year, when I visited my brother in New Hampshire, i had to go shopping for warmer clothes. I did not have stuff quite warm enough for New England. I learned never to go to New England in the winter.
I'm in Maryland and I definitely understand that a down coat isn't appropriate sometimes, but I don't care lol... Coat check! I had an interview in Chicago when it was -15F. I had to do what I had to do! 😂🤷🏾♀️ I didn't get the job. Hopefully not because of my down coat and snow boots lol (yes I changed shoes 😊)
I know people really love the Sorel boots, but as a Canadian who spends a ton of time outside for my sports, I strongly recommend Ugg Adirondack boots. They're like the best kept winter secret, they are the warmest boots and beat out Sorels hands down!
For head, I honestly recommend earmuffs. Beanies are nice, however they don't cover the ears completely, especially if the person pushes it further back of the head for fashion. Some of the earmuffs are very cute, they can go over beanies and under hoodie. That'll cover your ears completely. For most warmth I choose leather gloves with a fuzzy material inside so it'll keep it toasty. Those two + a chunky scarf and I won't get cold.
I could've used a video like this one 30 years ago! I moved from a tropical island to the upper-mid-Atlantic many, many years ago, and I remember how miserable I was the first few winters because I didn't know how to properly layer. I thought throwing on a thick, puffy parka over any "one-ply" outfit would be enough, and of course it never was. There was no internet, no RUclips, no Pinterest to give me ideas, and I had no one close to guide me. I eventually learned what pieces/fabric weights/materials to invest in and wear together...but it would've been nice to have known from the beginning. Still to this day, I hate wearing socks (like you) so I now buy very cute ones to encourage myself to choose socks and proper winter boots instead of ankle booties, which *still* feel like "soooooo heavy!" under my once "I've never worn anything but sandals" feet. I love your content and personality. I especially enjoy your office-wear capsules because they are functional but still colorful and with interesting silhouettes, unlike most others that are almost monochrome and rely on the same traditionally "corporate" pieces repeated day-after-day. Thanks for sharing your talent with the rest of us!
In Michigan, we wear Underarmor beneath the distressed jeans to keep skin from getting chapped if you're going to be outdoors. Once again you knocked it out of the park girl! Love the looks you put together here.
Great video! Will use this video as a checklist when i’m shopping and packing for my upcoming winter holiday. I live in a tropical climate city where it’s pratically sunny 24/7 and i’m so worried about going to somewhere cold.. 🤷🏻♀️
I love the winter videos you do!! As soon as I saw those new combat black boots you put up on insta I ran over to like to know it and tried to buy them! Waited for my size to finally restock-I’m so excited for them to arrive!!!!!!
Omg Spanx faux leggings are the best!! Loveee them so much, they give such great shape to the body. Though the price is a bit steep but totally worth it💕 loveeeeeeee💕💕💕
I love your channel! I just discovered it. Your channel has helped me alot on my wardrobe. I love timeless pieces and classic looks. Great job! keep it up.
Big supporter sending hugs to you and excited to hear about ur news! Im sure it can be scary opening up but def want to be here for u for support and prayers.
This might be an unpopular opinion but it’s along the same vein as leather and that is FUR! Mink fingerless gloves, rabbit fur collars, shawls. It started with some UGG Fingerless gloves and took off from there… I’m sorry but man do I love to keep warm with some fur, faux or not.
Great recommendation! Love the yellow cardigen on you in this video, and also cannot find the link of the red non parka style coat as well. Link, please! Thanks
I couldn't find the link to the wide jeans you were wearing with the cream sweater under #3 tights/leggings. Can you tell me what size and what brand it is please? Cute outfits btw!
a great video...i want to get a nice beanie but when it comes to the crunch, i never can choose one color!!! if you could only choose one color, what color would you choose? I have a red coat, a beige coat, a khaki coat and a grey one...
I always like to take my scarf to cover my nose and mouth from the harsh cold air. Socks are my favorite things to get for Christmas. Definately checking out the wool socks. I have thin feet so it's hard to find socks small enough but not tight. I dont understand the shock sizes on most pairs. Sizes 5-9? Really?
you solved my winter “what to wear problem”! The challenge now is to remember these tips.. i always end up buying things that dont work well together 🙈🤣
Thank you for making content catered to people living in colder winter climates even though the place where you live doesn’t require this level of winter coziness!
I wish I could take you shopping with me! Love your videos!

Love this! Do you have a video on how to wear and wrap scarfs for winter?

Can you create more basic videos? Like you did for essential shoes. But include like your favorite basic tops, the everyday T-shirt etc.
Hi Miss Louis!!! Love the tips✌🏾️

Awesome!
How do you get your beanie to not flatten your hair? I have curly hair and I struggle to wear hats because they flatten my curls and mess them up
I always like to take my scarf to cover my nose and mouth from the harsh cold air. Socks are my favorite things to get for Christmas. Definately checking out the wool socks.
