Loved your video! I love New Wash as well! By the way, your hair looked amazing when you just air dried it (day 2). My top tip for anyone considering trying new wash is eliminate everything with silicone in it. I believe that is one of the reasons some people struggle with this product. It's something that the curly hair community has known re: co-washing but I don't think that information is clear enough from Hairstory. New Wash cannot break up silicone so if someone uses anything containing silicones, everything will just stay stuck to the hair and they will feel like the new wash is not cleansing their hair at all. I had that experience the first time I used it because I had been using a serum that was basically all silicone, and even though I had stopped using it, the silicone was built up on my hair. It would have eventually washed away over time (hence the "transition period" they talk about) but I decided to do a final wash instead with a silicone-free shampoo and then use New Wash from then instead of waiting it out (again something I learned from the curly hair community) and the difference was night and day! It totally worked as it was meant to and I just felt like ok now it's actually able to clean my hair when it's not coated in silicone. That was my experience. Thanks for your video!
Oh wow that’s such great advice. I didn’t realise they don’t play well together but luckily don’t really use many finishing products. Thank u so much watching 😊
Been using it for 3 years, it’s incredible- I have psoriasis and so does my son, it has completely helped the inflammation (psoriasis is internal so it goes in and out of remission) and has helped with the excessive skin cell turnover- my hair doesn’t break as much and that has allowed my fine hair to fill in thicker and keep length as I’ve been growing it. My hairdresser is amazed- I love their styling products too- love seeing others give it a try because hair breakage is a huge problem with color treated hair and harsh cleansing shampoos. It’s taken two years to get my length to the ends which was a fingers crossed journey ! I got covid last summer and had tremendous hair fall, freaked me out- but that stopped and I think because I was able to hang in there and realize that it’s going to take time for the replacement hair to get 14 inches- so it was even more critical to be gentle as possible since all my hair styles had to change and stress to a minimum! I had to be especially careful of the new hair that would be coming back all different lengths- my hair dresser stretched out my base color appointments from every 4 to 6 weeks and I used hair makeup on gray patches on my part- little changes help the overall fatigue of your hair- and she only put in minimal tiny highlights twice this year - that was hard but helped to get the density back - got to protect the new hairs growing because they are vulnerable sticking out all alone- ha! - I’m able to wash once a week and in the winter I use their “Rich” formula or if I’ve been to the beach, and use keep on hand their “original “ formula- I’m tempted to order “deep” just to experiment, especially during the summer after working out. Love their “Dressed Up” styling cream heat which is a heat protectant and their “Balm” for air dry days- they have a spray for like a sea salt without sticky sea salt look to plump up next day curls so you might be able to do a every other day or skip a day on the weekends to experiment- give the hair a “rest” after a few weeks you might further see more repair! BTW I’m 64 and get it totally- hair changes are challenging!
I've been wondering what to use on the air dry days....been doing a lot more recently. Should I try the Balm then? I'm also trying to go longer between washes - it's hard!!
I love how thorough this video is! I bought the 20oz container of New Wash Rich in December, and I'd used it a few times over the next coming months. I decided to commit fully in April, and I am 3 weeks in! I am loving it so far! My curls do too (:
I'm thrilled to hear this! Do you use other things like hair masks with it? That's the only reason I haven't ditched the shampoo/conditioner entirely. Want to make sure the hair is mega-clean before I mask (or Olaplex 0 +3), which I do at least once a week. Love to hear your thoughts 🤔
@@SkinObsessedMary I do use an occasional hair mask. Anytime I have used a shampoo it always feels completely stripped and I have to condition the heck out of it. With New Wash, it never does that. My hair is very fine and will tangle easily. It is very long and I have been able to just run my fingers through and bounce my curls with the new wash. There is not a chance I can do that with regular shampoo and conditioner.
Thanks for your great review. Are you still using new wash? I tried it out a couple of years ago and I kind of liked it but I remember I had some issues with greasiness. I think maybe I wasn't rinsing for long enough,I'm going to try again. Interestingly I had the same experience as you when one dy my hair suddenly turned to straw for no reason, I also thought it as my curling iron but it turned out to be the menopause! Onto some oestrogen and that helped heaps. Thanks of your great video 🙂
You know I think you're absolutely right! Menopause is actually causing all kinds of havoc. Yes, I use New Wash religiously and it's hands-down my favourite (non) shampoo. But it does get expensive for me, as I wash every day. I tend to go through a pouch a month, which is about €50. So...just a few months ago I started alternating with another co-washing product that costs about €17. So I just do each of them every other day which means I get longer from the New Wash. I absolutely love it and will NEVER stop using it. And I never once had a greasy hair day. My hair is super soft, super nourished and never stripped. I love it.
Never tried a scalp scrubber, rather wary of them as my hair is thinning and thought it might do more harm than good, think I’ll give it a go. Your hair looks fabulous, might look into trying shampoo even though it’s expensive, I use olaplex at the moment which isn’t cheap, but does last me a long time, I have ok results not amazing. Always looking for amazing 😂. Love your videos xxx
I think it'll actually help thinning hair so give the scrubber a go. Well, I'm on a hair product crusade right now so it's top of my list. I used Olaplex and didn't love it. And it's expensive too! Thank you for the kind words. Means the world to me ☺️
I've heard a lot of people say that actually. But it never did that for me. Perhaps a clarifying shampoo might help once a week? I haven't used one but I am wondering if I should...
I’ve just started my first bag of this stuff and agree, it’s amazing. I love it. My hair is fine, looks just like yours. LOVE the scrubber, it’s definitely part of the key to success. I am hoping I can stretch that bag out as long as possible since it is pricey. I’m wondering if the amount of shampoo you use is what you showed in the video of you shampooing? That’s way way more than I use each time. I use about the size of a quarter or a bit more, and it works just fine. Maybe I can make it 8 weeks! Thanks for the video.
I do use quite a bit, but if you can get away with a quarter size, that's brilliant! It is an expensive product but it's worth every penny. My hair loves it. I've also signed up to the subscription service, so it saves money :)
I wash my hair everyday too. Like you, I have to shower everyday, and because I have a very oily scalp I always wash my hair. Really need to look into this more and think about trying this! Thank you
Since you posted this video have you used any of their other products? Specifically styling products such as Powder or Hair Balm? I really liked your video, if was thorough and informative.
These ingredients remind me of Calia Naturals. They have a lot essential oils for cleaning the hair. It’s cheaper. I actually wash my hair with Ayurvedic herbs and clays, mainly in the winter when my scalp is painfully dry. They work really nice as an alternative to shampoos. I have dark hair though. I heard some can darken hair. I always wanted to try this product for shites and giggles and I am a hair product junkie. I’ll wait for a sale.
It may depend on currency but I think it's €51 ($51) to purchase individually but if you sign up for regular shipments is reduced by 15% which is just under €44. That's what I do. Although you can increase the size of the pouch (there are 3 options) which it makes it more cost effective in long run. That's what I'll probably do next. I'm telling you, this stuff is magic. It's completely transformed my hair. Worth a try (even for $51)!

Love your channel Mary! Look forward to it on Fridays 👍🌸
Thanks so much Jane 😘
I'll definitely give this a try. Thank you for an informative video. 👍
You’re so welcome. Let me know what you think!
So pretty, can't wait to try it! Can you please link the bangle bracelet that you wear occasionally. Thanks
If you’re talking about the torque it’s from an antique jeweler in the UK @golddigger_mcr on instagram. Most of my stuff is antique or vintage…
I love love love this New Wash! Been using it for almost a year and will never go back to shampoo.

The hairstory scalp brush is amazing!!
I used it for many months and loved it at first. Then my hair stopped feeling clean after using it. I may go back to it as i still have some.

You’re welcome ☺️. Maybe consider the Deep version which sounds like might be more suited to super oily scalp? Let me know if you give it a try!

Thanks very much! You know...I haven't. As seeing how. much I love New Wash, I'd say it's worth a try. Thanks for the reminder :)

That's interesting...I hadn't heard of them. Thank you!
Interesting. I've watched three reviews. All indicated different prices for this product. $40, $44 and $51?

I would recommend you talk about fortified shampoo for fast hair growth.
Good idea - thank you!
I would suggest you research fast hair growth fortified shampoo.
