Can confirm: as an ex-Hasan and Vaush fan, I HATED Destiny for a long time without ever watching a full video of his. When I eventually did, I immediately felt like Destiny was expressing sentiments I'd been struggling to wrap my head around for years and I felt right at home politically for the first time. They absolutely poison the well and have a delusional hatred for Destiny. Needless to say, I no longer watch those other guys and Destiny is now my alltime favourite female streamer

@@guttersails7971 there’s a difference between telling jokes in private with zero intent behind the usage, and nearly letting one rip cuz a black guy said something you thought was dumb
The thing I enjoy most about Destiny's content is how he's not afraid to just go look up the data or fact check, possibly proving himself wrong even at times. He understands that it's okay to say you're wrong when presented with new information or to just not know enough about something.
@@ronswanson1410which is fair tbh lol takes a lot of effort to check everything. At the same time it is kinda his job so I can see both sides
Exactly why I watch him
@@snowcrow8784 Depends. The times I've seen him qualify most statements it's either because it's difficult to truly know, so he's using context clues that he recognizes to make a conclusion, if it makes sense. This means, if data appears to the contrary, his audience is already primed to throw his conclusion away, or critically examine it after contradicting data. In every single case, where he gets critique with claims that either make sense, or show contradictory data, he's changed his view, or disproven the critique.
@@ronswanson1410 Every single human being on the planet does this, including academics in less formal settings. Most information intake is a fairly passive process, and we extrapolate onto raw data when we store it, barring people with savant syndrome.
When a point is important and there's a low degree of certainty, that's when one finds concrete sources before proceeding. If one has a high degree of certainty, assuming no dishonesty, it's totally normal to make assumptions based on the information you have previously taken in and rely on your prior conclusions.
Imagine having the influence, money, and status that Hasan does, and still being more insecure than freshmen in high school.

The fact that Hasan is SO popular blows my mind! It truly saddens me that so many people are so easily manipulated! Attacking the person and not the thing being said is literally his bread and butter!
Lizzofication
I just can't understand how people can fall for the shaped stupidity that comes out of Hasans mouth.
Oh of course. If they don't agree with you then they are just being manipulated.
@@guttersails7971 No not at all. I don't dislike Hasan because I disagree with him (that's a TYPICAL Hasan argument right there! You have taken something that 'could' be true and im certain is true some of the time, but then extended that to be true in ALL cases!). I dislike Hasan because he LITERALY does manipulate his audience! He rarely has anything 'factual' to say. So his go to 'tactic' is to just demonize the person saying it! Which is dumb on the face of it because im sure that irl ALL of us know from our own personal experiences that rarely, if ever, do we meet people that we 100% agree with, even among our friends and family! Its like saying Hitler liked Salmon so Salmon MUST be bad! It's sooo dumb! Heck there is even some things I disagree with Destiny about!
Many people dont go deep about the topic they talk/think about or topics in general
Mainstream politics leftist take + looks = winning formula
He is pissed off you are having mainstream success people from TYT like you, Pakman likes you, Sam Ceder talks to you, got Aba and Preach in your corner, and now Shaprio is willing to debate you. Meanwhile he only talks to random streamers he thinks he can dunk on and screams at his chat if they say something half a percent different than what he believes.
I'm curious how aware he is about how stupid he comes off whenever he actually does a debate. The one he did on stage with Kirk or whoever was so stupid to the point Cenk had to jump up in the crowd and defend Hasan's stupidity and it started to escalate into taunts for a fist fight
Hasan popularity wise and in terms of mainstream success is doing way better, especially among younger people. I don't like Hasan much but he has garnered a bigger audience than destiny in half of the time, and his "streamer friends" are way more popular than Cenk, Ceder or Aba
Because he is more entertaining. His takes are terrible but most of his audience doesn't really care about politics that much, they are in it for the rants and character attacks on his chat and anyone else who has a different world view@@metalmythology6282
@@metalmythology6282 I think it would be more accurate to say that it angers Hasan that Destiny has more respect from actual adults, debaters, philosophers, politicians, political commentators, etc.
Because at the end of the day, that is what Hasan really strives to be, a respected political commentator and debater, which he is not.
The people Hasan looks up to, seem to like Destiny more.
Or at the very least, Hasan grifts to appear like he wants to be perceived as that hyper-intelligent political debater, but he might not really give a shit at all.
Hasan genuinely only appeals to younger women (because he admittedly is very handsome) and teenagers/kids.
Which is why he hangs with the likes of Pokimane, Valkyrae, etc, as they are in that "appealing to kids/teenagers" sphere.
I also think it angers Hasan that black people like Destiny more then they like him, despite Hasan parroting what he thinks black people want to hear from him.

@@Hades-jm9rv nah its peak white supremacy
Hasan: These black people got where they are because they worked hard, not because of affirmative action.
Hasan 2 secs later: Why don't these people appreciate that affirmative action helped them get where they are?
I enjoy both Hasan and Destiny so I'm not picking a side, but Hasan was right in this instance and those statements are not mutually exclusive... Affirmative action doesn't mean you're choosing a black kid with a 2.0 GPA over a white kid with a 4.0 GPA. It just means if you have a black person (or insert under-represented group here) and a white person who are similarly qualified you might give preference to the black person in the name of diversity. That black person still earned their way there through hard work and is most certainly deserving, but affirmative action helped them get in the door whereas that probably wouldn't have been the case before.
@knifey_sp00ny17 how do you reconcile that with the fact that asian students have to have higher test scores than black students to get accepted according to the Radford study?
@@katasai4438 First of all SAT scores are just one of a million different metrics used in admissions so that study means literally nothing. Secondly that has nothing to do with my comment, which was about how affirmative action doesn't mean that a person didn't put in the work and earn their place. Both things can be true at the same time.
@@knifey_sp00ny17 "Affirmative action doesn't mean you're choosing a black kid with a 2.0 GPA over a white kid with a 4.0 GPA." No, it means you are choosing a black student with a 926 over an asian student with a 1229.
Which means you are choosing a kid that worked less because studying = higher test scores 99% of the time.
I went from watching Hassan to Destiny, I started realizing his takes were insane, off the top of my head saying women complaining about trans in women’s sports is unfair just aren’t good enough, people stealing for survival only, and the one time his friend was getting backlash from unhinged people for using black lingo and he agreed if you’re not black you can’t say sht like “on god frfr” 🤣🤣

I love how 100% of hasans audience doesnt even realize how hard he manipulates them. And he does it so easily because they only know politics as far as whatever john oliver said last week, so since they dont know any of the topics he talks about they just implicitly trust whatever he says. But on the off chance someone does know about a topic hes talking you realize how much he leaves out or skews things to fit his narrative. And streamers know hasan is a terrible person, that most non streamers wouldnt understand.
And all streamers/content creators manipulate their audiences but its harmless since usually they're not talking politics/acting as if they're serving in their audiences best interests
hasan is also maniplulated by his audience, he literally said no to the wizard game cause he didnt want to be cancelled...hasan has reached late stage streamin where both his audience and himself need each other to keep in their echo chambers

There's lots of valid criticism for Destiny, but holy moly Hasan is another beast. People who just spew out blatant lies on someone's character and basically fill up a checklist of the most outrageous toxic traits one could have to their audience just because you politically don't agree with them is actually insane.
I stopped watching Hasan when he started hyping up Fidel Castro on stream. He's so out of touch it's insane. Seeing someone prop Castro up like that to 20k+ people live, trying to romanticize him just because he hated America like Hasan does, is so brain numbing its insane. "Hates America? Check. I don’t know. I feel like you’re also pulling a “don’t say anything bad about America, because Castro hated America and Castro was a bad person, so if you criticize America you’re a bad person like Castro”. Of course Hasan is going to romanticize Castro, because he turned Cuba into a socialist country, which it remains even after Castro has died, and socialism is something Hasan strongly believes in. Just like people will romanticize people like George Washington, because to them he represents ideas like American freedom and democracy. I doubt Hasan views Castro as an individual as anymore evil or just compared to all the other historical figures we romanticize.
At 17 you’re doing good man. Best advice I can give you is don’t get arrested. Good luck brother.
I was a 10 month sub and daily watcher of Hasan's, not a huge fan but liked having it on in the background/second monitor as I putter around the house and/or game. I observed the patterns of getting Hasan to single out a chatters message and eventually took advantage of it and was able to get his attention almost whenever I wanted. I sent links into chat pertaining to topics he was talking about, when he lacked context. I'm on Twitter a lot so I had links and articles ready all the time. He opened them often and I guess I developed a micro-familiarity with Hasan, like a B-list chatter. Eventually I would poke him by calling him out in chat, and that works to get his attention too, and if you're delicate he knows when you're good faith. Until one day while he was watching the UFO congressional hearings, I ribbed him about SCIF's and his lack of knowledge on them--and he pulled the "my brother Murat is a..." to establish that he knew about SCIF's, this lead to a "NO SHOT" from me, which he singled out and perma banned me on the basis that if I was a true 10 month sub, I should have seen prior content of his where he covered SCIFs.
Hasan assumes everyone who watches him watches him daily and consumes all of his content. I was a daily watcher but was never Has-pilled. I would disagree with his takes often, but as far as streamers, his ADHD coverage of stuff is good for background entertainment. Hasan is a weak egotistical man child who has created one of the most un-based echo chambers on the internet. He is also a net-negative for lefty politics and the socialist movement. His donations to strike funds, union funds and the like is virtue signaling akin to how Catholics think donations to the church will gain you salvation and erase your sins. He is a multi-millionaire master grifter the likes of which the Left has never seen. It's so fun to watch his slow decline in viewership and relevance, and his weekly twitter cancelations are always entertaining. Do not be mistaken, Hasan's community is the most harmful echo chamber on the lefty internet.
Destiny is in good faith with almost everything he does, he is sincere and unafraid, and does have a strong sense of right and wrong and is able to see between the lines. He does not fall on pre-conceived notions, he extrapolates data and well informs his viewers. He deserves the success Hasan has, but will have to go about earning it in a much more grueling way because of how Hasan has poisoned the well and has held back the "poggers" community. Even when covering Hasan, Destiny is good faith and honest, and calls him on his bullshit. Hasan can't cover Destiny without being smarmy and bad faith. /endrant
Ohh wait I remember this I think. He got really mad that somebody tried to say his brother didnt do a or b work. Its possible he thought thats what you meant, rather than realizing you meant he cant know about SCIFs just cuz of what his brother does for work
Hasan's statement to me was that "unfortunately I have to be banned because as a 10 month subscriber I should be familiar with his stance on these issues"--paraphrased slightly. I think this clip 1:18:49 is exactly when Hasan got mindbroken about Destiny. His online persona shifted a lot after this and it could be greatly explained by him trying to escape the feeling/perception that he's "Destiny but worse." He no longer wants to debate people at all because he's "above that," not because he's afraid of looking bad in them. He leans way more into extreme leftist stances to differentiate himself from Destiny as a liberal. How does Hasan have such a hard time comprehending people's opinions? It's always just "What!?"
At least he's improving his reactions
Hassant's viewpoint is:
If it benefits me, it's good. If it doesn't, it's bad.
Most leftists have this simple framework. Additionally, you can see how hassan projects that framework on other people, basing intelligent/moral decisions on whether or not the person benefits from it.
Example being: "why are you against affirmative action if you directly benefitted from it?"
Hassan (and people with this affliction) can't explore ideas to any degree of depth because they are incapable of removing themselves & their values from the equation (or applying other hypothetical values)
Unfortunately, this mindset is very palatable to the general public. It usually capitalizes on people's inclinations to use anecdotal evidence to form and support a biased prescriptive political stance, because intellectual honesty means having basic media literacy, and most people don't have time to do their own research or critically challenge the premises of their own argument.
And the worst part is that it's so unbearably tedious to debunk anecdotal evidence, because you have to essentially teach someone about the abstract concept of bias, and most people aren't patient enough to let you explain yourself completely when you're attacking their worldview.
'if it benefits me it's good, if it doesn't its bad' I wouldn't agree 100% bc if communist Hasan got what he asked for, his million dollar home would belong to everyone. And he would pay taxes so high, he couldn't effort his lavish life style anyway. Obviously he is hypocritical when it comes to this stuff but also his take on streaming stolen content is just to protect himself cuz he is so on the noise with that one. Whenever he would defend XQC he was actually defending himself. There is the 'it benefits me' part. But yeah he would throw any black person under the bus just to get the best end out for himself. That's why when the group he is supposedly trying to protect comes for his ass he just goes 'you don't know what's best for you'. X.x
@notmyopinion4981
Right, typically, the defense of something or even the accusation of others is also subject to this rule.
Defending a behavior because you are guilty of it, additionally projecting a behavior because you're guilty of it.
People with this issue are incapable of empathy; unable to use any hypothetical viewpoint other than their own. They can't even empathize with their future/past self, since they're unable to escape their mentality based on the here&now
I wish there was a term for it. It's very much like aphantasia. But instead of inability to create mental pictures, they're unable to recontectulize / reframe concepts outside of themselves.
@youtubeviolatedme7123
It's a default mentality that you grow out of.
Kids are forced to operate in this way until 11-13 yo, then they have all of their teens and early 20's to solidify their belief system & see if it's compatible with the world/society.
Social media allows people to avoid the necessary confrontations that challenge their beliefs, so they enter into adulthood with underdeveloped, childish framing.
There may be an IQ element to it as well, but for now, it's important to identify the mindset as a core pattern of leftist belief systems.
The only consistency in how they operate is how it benefits them in the moment, & this mindset explains that perfectly imo.
I've met right wingers that have the same issue, so it's not just on the left (but I see it far more on the left than the right)

I don't think owning a home changes anything especially the ROI. I will say that if you can't rent for lower than your mortgage you might be better off just mortgaging.
There’s a lot of financial baggage and potential catastrophe that can come along with getting a mortgage. It’s a pros and cons game. Renting gives you mobility and significantly reduces an “all in” sentiment with where you may be living. You are correct in that you aren’t building equity like with a mortgage, however, if you stop and think about it a bit, there are dozens upon dozens of reasons why being forced into a mortgage that you are now financially responsible for over the next 15/30 years could end up putting you in a compromising predicament.

I think the biggest problem with welfare, or people trying to come out of it (having baby daddy live in the house, combining incomes into a functional family unit) is you run into the same problem with getting people off unemployment. If unemployment or welfare gives me x amount of money a month, but by getting a job (40/hr work week) I earn x + 1, most people will view the work they are doing as only worth the 1 in that equation. Using the COVID unemployment bonus ($600/wk, basically a 15/hr 40hr work week) if I go out and find a job for $17/hr, I can rationalize my work as actually being only $2/hr for my time of 40 hours a week. Once this structure is put in place, it's hard to escape it mentally, even if you are incrementally improving your financial situation.
lol was insane how many people took advantage of the covid unemployment even when they didn't have to and begged to be laid off. I swear the money was alot more than 600.wk though
@@snapple4pple you would be correct. The $600/wk was actually a ‘COVID bonus’ on top of the regular unemployment benefits. There were a lot of people who made MORE money on COVID unemployment than they did at their jobs.
I remember being labeled as an “essential worker” (I cut grass for a living) and was making less than the $600/wk even before I paid taxes on my check. (Cut off from all overtime as well).
The lockdowns completely flipped the incentive structures for working in this country, and we still haven’t quite figured out how to put the pieces back together.
you would be surprised at how much employers *DONT* pick candidates based on merit.
its who you know and where you are, not what you know.
thats always been the rule and will continue to be unless society gets its head on straight and things get more meritocratic but i highly doubt thatd happen
Is it really true employers are willingly sacrificing profit to hire less efficient employees?
@@calculator91 thats a great question but no; in their minds they are not sacrificing profit. they are hiring people that they like or that they know previously. they *perceive* people that they have acquaintance with as better options id say, whether they are better or not.
the companies arent typically looking for the most competent person. theyre looking for someone they could see themselves being friends with. these are people theyre going to see on a daily regular basis for a while.
theres a very interesting article/poll by a journalist on fortune 500 companies that attempted to find what big companies universally hire for that goes over this.
It blows my mind that people don't realize this. How stupid do we have to be as a society to believe that this is a meritocracy. You quite literally have to ignore all of US history to think that. That's not to say that you cannot get far via merit but many times and statically, you will be of average competence, and 9/10 times, the person with connections and wealth (and who is also of average competence) will get opportunities over a non-connected person.
@@B10Esteban yah it is bewildering honestly. this idea of meritocracy and the american dream is so buried deep into american beliefs that they dont even realize they believe it. its crazy. but theres is ridiculous amounts of evidence to debunk it. like you said, youd have to ignore all of US history to think this. youd have ignore all of the _worlds_ history and _every_ country to think this.
