  • a discontinued superb knife, however i would be pleased with the aus8 a version wich is the mainstay steel it is produced in. its suprisingly tough, nimble, and only weights 8 ounces or so for an 8 inch blade!!!!!!! its a great woods blade, but because of its weight, or lack there of, cant chop. but pair it with a saw or hatched and your set. you could also baton thru logs to split them up. the ricasso provide a nice flat spot to choke up on. the handle is amazingly comfortable and super secure.
i experimented and made a great leg carry system for the sheath, it accepts a wide veirety of lashings, like rope or zip ties or a tek lock for many mounting options.
ounces, 8 inch blade, secure ex sheath, whats not to like!!!

Good all around knife and especially with that San Mai Steel Blade , I still would like to get one in AUS8a.
It's just a great knife to have around I'm sure because I have the OSS version with the Double Edge Blade in AUS8a. ⚖️⚔️💰⚔️⚖️

I love the osi so much. I had the aus8 version about 6yrs ago and I broke it throwing it at my front door like an idiot. I hit the door knob and broke the top third of the blade right off. I did use it on a camping trip to show off,and because it's so lightweight, but I do not recommend it as a survival knife. It's definitely more of a self defense blade in my opinion. It's just way too lightweight and the tip is just gonna snap in a matter of time. Do you need the tip? I like it. I use an Ontario sp8 combined with the new Cold Steel outdoorsman lite. Great combo. Sometimes I use the drop forged survivalist, but it's heavy man. Great blade though. I love Cold Steel. Let's see what direction the company goes without Glen Thompson. ✌

Yikes! Poor knife and poor doorknob!! Lol.
Agreed its definitely not a chopper so it's not the best choice for a survival blade but it's Damm.great!! Pair it with your ontario chopper and your set
