  • just a quick overview of the recon 1 in a spear point version, i traded and moved it faster than i expected but you can get a more in depth look with my older review of the clip point XHP recon 1 , the idea of the use is the same, here i just did a snow test to see how the lock withstandds it, and its great! the spine is suprisingly great at striking ferro rods, the ergonomics of the blade are truly wonderful

U people in comments care about the coating way to much lol just use it oil it and wipe it off if coating comes off no big seal looks good with wear marks.

They didn't change the semi reflective DLC coating on the newer versions right? Because I could have sworn I seen a video of the recon 1 tanto recently that seemed to of had the more typical dull Black coating on the blade. I want to get this exact knife, even the slightest change would be disappointment.

Did you have to mod the spine to throw sparks or did it come like that out of the box?

The only problem I have with the knife is the terrible coating . Eventually it will just start flaking off like paint .

Yea the old coating on the aus8 steel was like cheap paint.
New stuff with the s35vn is DLC coating like it's pretty much I pregnated in the steel. Much better
But then again I think the scratches are sexy

@@northtestedknives4808 I have a Para 2 with dlc that’s seen some use. I think the worn look is great. Never got the knives you don’t use thing.

Good video. I own a 20+ year old Voyager Tanto and I know CS's rep, but how can these be held up as super- tough, hard use blades when they have no liners at all?

      Good question
Is the triad lock that obsorbs all the impact. Watch cold steel video on the triad lock test
G10 is just as strong as Grivory and steel lines

I was hesitant to buy my American lawman because of this. Then I bought it and that thing was solid as hell. Lost it when I was moving, but couldn't break the damn thing if I tried.

G10 is a very tortionally. String material with alot of shock resistance.
Just as strong as steel.for this thickness
