Great video BJ! Those are some pretty tough tests, especially hammering it in and prying with the tip. I think it's safe to say that it's a pretty tough hard use knife.
My jaw hit the floor at 16:57. Also I do believe the Tanto is the best one for hard use out of the three blade shapes. strong tip + hollow grind = more versatile blade.
I was totally cringing when you were digging in and prying. Amazing results. Waiting for one in the mail. Very excited now. Thanks for the great video.
Hell yeah brother!!! You beat the fuck out of that Recon and not a problem with it!!!!! Amazing knife!! CS definitely makes some hard use knives!!! Loved watching this one!! Thanks for sharing brother!!!👊👊👊😈😈
Well...if that isn't proof enough...I don't know what would be!! Guess I better be pretty happy I have a tanto Recon 1!! Thanks for putting in the work brother!!
I had some cold steel fixed blades back in the day I gotta get a folder I could pull Staples at work with it. Tough knife to pull nail out and a block damn man. Thanks for testing Brother
I was waiting for ice cream BJ...😢😪...guess I'll have to keep waiting brother. Damn...beat that CS bro...the batoning the cinder block...ummm...lol 🤜💥🤛
@@hilltopknivesandgear8103 Do we get a choice of flavors...like S30V, 35, Cruwear or Maxamet...😂🤣 Keep up the great work brother. I can get you the Liquid Nitrogen receipe for that ice cream 💯🙈🤜💥🤛
Cold Steel absolutely makes tough knives! I had an SRK strapped to me from the early 80s into the 90s and I didn't break one; lost a couple :) Thanks for the hard use test! Btw, JB at Big Red let me know about your channel; great guy!
BJ that was an amazing video. No wonder everyone that had seen it was talking about that night. That hole through the board was very unique I don't think I have ever seen that done. Pulling staples and nails seemed easy on way too many. That says a lot about the knife and the tester. It would have been interesting in finding out what the edge was out of the box. Wonder why got fewer feet on fine edge between 3rd and 4th sharpening any ideas?? That was an amazing video. Excellent job on all you put that knife through. Thanks for a unbelievable video. That was one of those if you want tough here it is.
Everyone slams the knife because of the triad lock talk. I told vinny this was a great edc, and he told me it has a thin tip, to be fair to him he was probably thinking of the clip point. Sure hope he is watching this. It's a GREAT knife, and if you think of how much it costs, even better than great. I have 2. S35 and the old cts xhp version. When you pulled the staples and nails, did is scratch up the coating on the back of the blade near the tip? Good review if abusing a knife!
No nothing really touched the coating. Until I took it to concrete blocks. I can't think of many knives that'll hold up well to that type of abuse. Honestly that coating is better than benchmade coating and probably better than spydercos dlc as well. Imho
No ice Swan? That would have been really impressive. Lol True tank of a knife. I cringed so many times but the the knife just said "is that all you got, bitch please." Great video

I'm most certainly thinking that's right too. Thanks for the support 👊

Thanks for the great video.
Definitely impressive. No way I'd ever even think of abusing a knife like that, but it's good to know that it can take it.
Some serious testing ! Badass knife... great video !!
Appreciate it!!👊👊

Hell yeah brother 👊 you've got a helluva hard use knife. This 1 has made me rethink a few things.
Yeah...me too brother!!
My old Recon 1 cost me $99. Brute of a knife for sure! Keyboard Rambos telling you to use axes, saws, etc in 3, 2, 1
Yea I've had a couple people tell me I'm off on the price. Lol. But still for a 75$ knife ... the thing is a damn tank!
@@hilltopknivesandgear8103 I was wrong. It was $73.94 with free shipping. Purchased Aug 10th from Unitedoutdoors on eBay. 😉
Very satisfying video I must say.

The recon series are definitely good and they won’t break the bank. Love the tanto profile and steel is tough. Good review. Thanks for the info.

A damn tank. Freaking blew my mind. Was fully expecting to break it. I'm sure you could hear in my voice how surprised I was. Lol.

@@redrancher350 hell yeah! My favorite hat right now. Wear it all the time. 👊👊
Well fuck me. I just made me buy one. I went with the clip point though. Great video!
Damn, when he put it to the cinder block i had to pause it and cringe and brace myself.
I think I'll carry my Recon 1 today now
Its a freaking beast.
Big Red sent me
Can I break a recon 1? Nope, not without bodily injury.
Didn't wanna ruin the 69 likes, so I subbed instead.
I just rebought one.
it don't matter how much you spend you ain't getting a better knife 1
