- I dont need ti say much aboutthis blade! such an endearing classic. camp knife defined. it will do ll tasks needed, carvinf, skinning, food prep, batoning, feathersticking, the spine will strike ferro rods, and isnt a great chopper but will hack thru a sapling with ease!!
ALmost a full ound its heavy but very robust, iwth the holowgrind and thick spine the edge bites deep and sheers sharp, but will crack and split s,mall wood pieces wit ease
This is cocobolo with brass, cocobolo and a brown leather sheath.
Nice beatdown you put on this blade. I definitely need to get my hands on a 119
I just got my Buck 119 today! It's so nice. Feels good in the hand and it looks like a beast.

Great review of a great blade. Love mine. Sheath has some dings in it now but this pretty knife aint meant to be a drawer queen.
I'm getting one made by Buck Knives. I'm keeping it old school with the black phenolic handle, aluminum hilt, and butt cap, but with S30V. I don't baton wood with my Buck 119 but if I need to It's great knowing I can do it comfortably with tougher steel on my 119. I also think it'll be funny going to the woods and doing all sorts of tasks with my friends who have Beckers and other knives and my knife will still be shaving sharp with an S30V that looks like a stock 119. It's going to be a head-scratcher for them for sure!!
Buck 119 kicks ass
Nice. thank you for sharing.
Cool video dude!
Any loosening of the guard and pommel?
Buck 119 Special Knife🔪Steel 420HC Stainless Steel,Boss Heat Treat,58Rockwell Hardness👍
Its 425m steel. 440c was used pre 82
thanks so much!!
Do they come with this sheath now ? Or do you have to get it separately? I don't like the plastic Insert sheath .
Mine came with 2 different sheaths
The new ones have an awesome leather sheath.
I forget if it's plastic inset
I’ve had a 119 since ‘94...meh.
How do you enjoy it now? Found another knife to replace it?
@@northtestedknives4808 I have had many more different brand knives since then. The 119 is by far not the best in the bunch. It would def not be the knife I bring into the bush to trust with my life. I’m in Ontario and after using it many many many times, I’ve realized there are many other options out there with better steel, even at better prices. Not that it’s a bad knife in any way, I keep mine in the garage for fire prep when having a fire.
@@itsawonderfulknife7031 lol I'm with ya .
I retired this blade pretty quick. It's great as a hunt/ camp knife.
Working on a review now for the bk9. Thays my fave chopper at the moment
