My Dad gifted me a 102 when I could hunt, I added a 119 to the kit last year and with the two I can process about any game.

👍 Nice review of a couple nice knives. Buck began in the Pacific Northwest, moved to Southern California and then moved to Idaho. But, wherever or whenever a Buck knife was made it was affordable quality. I love my Buck 112, 110s and 117.

Thanks for your review! My choice was the combination 119 pro and the 103 pro skinner. Great set and always two knifes for different applications with you. In my opinion the perfect combination for the serious hunter. No problem to carry both on your belt, they are no heavyweights. Cheers mate!

That 119 is such a classic! I got mine from my old man and he got that one from my grandpa. I started making custom knives because of this knife and I still use it from time to time because it is just a nostalgic tool!

    "grip points" called 'jimping'.

If you want to get pedantic, it's only unofficially called "Jimping", it's a word that Nutnfancy invented.

Love Buck knives, they're classic. I've got a 110, 503 & 373 - hope to order a customized 112 at some point (no pun intended). Thanks for the informative video & channel!

Been interested in this 656 Pursuit for years by never pulled the trigger. I usually carry a 1980-81 3 dot 110 with 440C and two years ago scored a unused satin Buck 650 Nighthawk with 1/4" 420HC and 6.5" blade and that beast is a razor! I've actually gone back to 440C, 420HC, 1095 or 5160. Can't go wrong with the old school steels.

I love my Buck 124 , only thing i can recommend is to have a new sheath made for it from saddle quality leather with safety rivets around the blade . Its built for the extreme backwoods shtf .

Big compared to a swiss army knife
But along side a 10 inch Bowie it's small
The best knife is the one you have on you

You really do not sound as though you fully know what you are talking about sir, I am an avid knife collector who own well over 1,000 different quality knives and you can just tell a knife guy and that sir you are not....

How can a $120 knife be an heirloom? How can a knife be sturdy when the mouse tail has no contact with the handle or even a few traces of glue? Buck drills a hole in the handle material, runs the rattail through, and puts a small vertical pin in the end of the handle. This pin holds the whole handle together with the blade. Do you call it solid construction or fake and dangerous? You say steel is easy to sharpen, do you think there are many buyers who can sharpen it? Of course not, it is good steel but it will hardly sharpen properly. How can a knife that looks like a bayonet be considered hunting? Tell me a job this knife could be useful for or should I ask Rambo? Mora a very cheap knife has two layers of material on the handle. The inside is hard material and tightens the rat tail and the outside is more foamy for anatomical reasons.

A hunting knife is used to process game, and that’s it. Hunters have been using Buck knives for decades, and they work. That’s it, that’s what it is all about.

    • @arkas6797

@@Italianshooter01 I notice in the American videos a strong tendency to imitate with a complete inability to think. Someone upload a skinning video with an abalone surgical tool, the other day everyone abalone is the best hunting knife. Someone writes that the folding Buck is the best hunting knife, today it is the flag of hunting knives but in reality it is the most unsuitable for hunting. Are you arguing that a bayonet is suitable for processing game? What game does America have that the rest of the world doesn't? Are there still dinosaurs? I ask you because judging by Sabbati you know what quality means in hunting equipment.

@@arkas6797 i think that the majority of Buck knives are suitable for harvesting game, but there are very few models out there that can do it all. A skilled hunter with a good knife can at least gut an animal with one sharp knife. Being italian i don’t own One Buck knife because over here they are too expensive, but i processed game with cheap fixed blades, Old Bear XL knife and handmande skinning Arburesa knives. I’m sure that with a Buck 103, a Buck 110 and a Buck 117 you could process any animal.
I invite you to Watch this amazing video by Desert Dog on hunting knives, it’s a very good video and it also features Buck knives. Have a good one!
