@@jamesfleming5830it’s the inconsistency bulshit that can happen like I’m attacking a bot in front of me and I’ll suddenly fling to a bot in the electrical floor, the combat is too fast and hard to control for this typ of level design, it’s the same issue with the races with the Batmobile it’s really hard and unpredictable sometimes that it can just flip at a little bump in the track, it’s not hard because of skill it’s hard because of the combat style that doesn’t fit a tiny enclosed space
@@oliverbs0417so much of this game feels unfinished to me, like they have the graphics and the engine and the basic gameplay down, but the actual level designs don't mesh with that well at all and makes it way harder than it needs to be. If slightly more care was given to that stuff the game would be infinitely more playable. I don't remember ever having this much problem with Asylum or City.
@@Zombieworm98 I don’t think it was unfinished, I think they just didn’t think through how the combat would interact with the environment that well I think they just kinda put it in and if it’s possible it’s fine but not the thought of is it actually fun and enjoyable to do.
I literally JUST replayed this DLC and it was so infuriating. I also replayed a matter of family and was shocked how good it actually was. That was what all the DLC’s should’ve been, hour long storylines focused on the other characters
I feel like it could've been replaced with an hour long Azrael mission going after the Order of St. Dumas since they both play very similar to batman just with Azrael they could've been some different themed gadgets like a cross or something instead of batarang, Batgirl literally is Batman except with a few unique animations but they're both basically just reskins only Azrael gets instant access to gadgets and upgrades
AND Batgirl can free roam after you finished the story, yes you can't do anything except beat up thugs and destroy ballons, but it's fun for a while. I wish the other DLC's is able to do that
I think the main issue with this dlc is the Riddlerbots room at the end doesn't fit Catwoman's playstyle, along with the fact most of the floor becomes electrified rather than part of it turning on and off like the Shock and Awe challenge map and the Heart of Darkness challenge map. She moves faster and more frequently than the other Arkham characters. When you do a combo takedown with her, she will move and likely land on the electric floor. I usually feel guilty when I nitpick things in games or movies due to sounding too harsh, not liking something, and being ungrateful but here it is justified to complain. If this segment was with Batman or someone else, this dlc would have less complaints. Definitely one of the worst things in the Arkham series.
Has nothing to do with catwoman specifically. This mission doesn’t fit the Arkham combat system in general. Any other character would have the same problems. Absolutely zero to do with it being catwoman. Got it?
@@ayejamie23 it has fuck all to do with catwoman, every character would have the same issue because the mission is bad for the combat system as a whole, not one specific character.

I really hated the predator-part tbh. It was literally just a copypaste of the Catwoman-mission in City where you break into the confiscated goods vault.
I agree that the combat section was super frustrating, but once I figured out the trick to beating it it became much easier. I don't think you were intended to ever be sitting in 4 small squares mashing counter. Think of it more as a time trial. The way to get through it without ripping your hair out is to avoid using things that waste time (special combo takedowns, whips, etc.). The fastest way to dish out damage is to try and get in freeflow, then try to strike as many times as possible as quick as you can. Even countering/dodging can slow you down from dealing damage, so only do it if you really need to.

The only thing about the DLC that didn't drive me insane was Riddler slowly going insane and slowly getting more and more desperate. Combat sections sucked major ass and were just so brutally unfair for all the wrong reasons, a problem that none of the other Arkham episodes seemed to have? The Arkham episodes, Batgirl not withstanding were just...incredibly disappointing in general I think. About 10-20 minutes long each and just barely give an idea of where the characters are at. Really wanted free roam as everyone

Fully agree with you Jay. I played Catwoman's Revenge for the first time yesterday. And I gotta say. It's the least amount of fun I've ever had. And I HATE to say that knowing it's a DLC for an Arkham game. Batman Arkham is my favorite series, Asylum and City my favorite games, of all time. But Catwoman's Revenge is terrible. Good for the first half and then with the Riddlerbots? I couldn't finish it personally because after being killed 20 times, LITERALLY, I sorta gave up. I thought, "I'd rather spend time enjoying Arkham Knight," So I played the Batgirl DLC for the first time.
I found out the easiest way to beat the final riddler bot boss is to just mash x or square instead of going for critical strikes and takedowns and its easy
Took your advice & pressed X quick/non stop & I finally got it!! Omg. I was at this dlc for an hour trying to beat it lol. Thank you!! Did your advice & for it right away
I agree that the Riddlerbot section is terrible, but what I do is just freeflow my way through them, countering as little as possible. Basically just spam the strike button, but still avoiding the squares. You should be able to beat them all fast enough that the squares shouldn't shrink too much.
Fun fact: I never finished Catwoman's Revenge because the final section was too hard. I'd rather get 240% on all save files than to actually finish this DLC.
Lazily Throws 60 robots at you with a shrinking electric floor where if you try to hit one it throws you at a different one that's in the electric area and gets rid of 1/4 of your health bar.
I see it as Fake Difficulty, which developers keep slipping into their games lately and I'm not liking it. I understand not wanting to be redundant in your game, but there beat points in your game you gotta hit each time for it to be fluid. If you change those points or get rid of them, you are breaking the flow of the game and you are just left with players being frustrated with the gameplay and not wanting to do that ever again. Those kind of sections can and have stopped me from replaying games before simply because I didn't want to deal with that section.
I remember that! It was annoying and poorly designed but I'm fine with it to an extent because of the context. It would make sense for Riddler to devise a rigged fight like this. It absolutely could have been done differently to make it more fun, though.
The only things I liked about this DLC was the hilarious banter between Riddler, his hired thugs, and Catwoman, but...that final room, man, that's probably one of the very few times where a video game really, really, really pissed me off. I'm all for a good challenge, but this wasn't even fun or fair.
Thank you for making this video this DLC pissed me off so fucking much.. honestly this was a warning from rocksteady that they can't program anymore, they were trying to prepare us for kill the justice league
Honestly this DLC episode wasn’t good to be fair that gauntlet room is definitely ridiculous and annoying to go through and way too short in my opinion
This is one of the hardest/most frustrating games I ever 100% completed (although I think it was like 120% or something like that). All the DLC, all three stars or whatever in the challenges and tracks and stuff, and every other little thing there is to do. And I’m not saying that as a flex, I’m saying that cause I’m still mad about it.
Jay, serious question: As another content creator who makes Arkham videos (among other things), what do you use to record your footage for the Arkham games, and are you playing these on console or PC? Keep up the great work!
We use something called Elgato HD60 and we usually play on console. This footage was recorded on the PS5! The elgato is something you buy and hook up to your computer and such and then it’s able to record 4K footage. I recommend looking into it as it’s the best recorder we can find but it has a lot of problems like losing signal and cutting out a lot. Especially if you don’t have much space on your PC.
I hate this DLC the final fight is way too hard, Catwoman is one of the worst playable characters in the franchise (in my opinion) especially in terms of fighting and they give her the hardest fight in the game (might be the hardest in the franchise). This is the one and only fight I ever have a consistent problem with.
One thing I personally love about Arkham Knight and this DLC is just how much bad luck Riddler is getting, from getting humiliated, bested and beaten by both Batman AND Catwoman, to getting robbed of pretty much all his money by Catwoman and tazed by Cash. The mf deserved it anyway lol.
a counter argument to your candy bar metaphor, you buy 2$ candy bar, take a bite, it's gone forever, you have to go buy another candy bar, and there's billions of other candy bars just like it. VS this 2$ Dlc you will own until your body decays to dust.
I have a theory that most of Arkham Knight didn't happen based on the fact that the blast radius at ACE was reduced by 75% and even at the lowest I heard that would have covered all of Gotham at the most it would have covered a few states, my math might have been off but it is possible.
I replayed it last night… I’m not a bad player. If I had one chance to live, and finishing an Arkham game without being hit was the condition, I’d be alive and well. But this DLC?? That last robot fight killed me like 6 times man, I shit you not.
I literally just played this DLC for the first time about two hours ago and was taken aback with how stupidly difficult that last part was. Imagine my surprise and further horror when I discover that I wasn’t the problem; that this DLC has given quite possibly EVERYONE who has played it unnecessary grief for the exact same reasons across the board. Honestly, if it wasn’t for Catwoman and Riddler’s banter, “Catwoman’s Revenge” would be irredeemable garbage. Which is a shame because given the events of the main story, I was really looking forward to it.
Recently got the platinum for Arkham Knight and when I did some of the Riddler trophies, I kept jumping whenever those Riddler bots came out of nowhere and they are just really creepy from the idle pose to their crawling animations.
I agree. They gave a character who literally jumps all over the place a room where you just fight robots lol. They should've given her a jewel heist or something or how Riddler kidnapped her 💯.
I played all the DLCs except this one, I just wasn't interested in it. Judging from what I'm seeing on the screen, i have to agree that it does look unreasonably obnoxious. I like challenges too but, this looks like bullshit. I'm glad I didn't buy it.
This is harder than azraels last challnege on knightmare. I got that done in 5 minutes, but im still struggling on this. A dlc is harder than the hardest difficulty of one of the hardest challenges
in the robot fight i keep doing my O+Y takedown and she slides across and just goes into the electricity so i lose my combo and all my health and it results in me just dying over and over EDIT: AFTER 42 MINUTES I DID IT
Yeah this is the worst DLC ever in this game. Especially the part where you fight the robots on the electrified floor. I got upset because I died a bunch of times and had to restart the fight again
Don’t let the final battle drive you crazy. All I did was spam the the attack button until it’s was all over, easy! You don’t even have to worry about the lasers.
For any one having a hard time with the final part of this dlc the trick is to beat the enemies really fast, abuse of cat woman special and try to beat as many robots as possible before the whole flour get eletric
Arkham Knight will be a playable DLC character in Suicide Squad, he'll be cracking jokes with the squad and wearing batman themed pajamas as a preorder skin.
You sure it wasn’t the batgirl episode? That was the complete opposite in its difficulty. The UI and hints won’t stfu even though I turned them off. I felt like I was playing a game for toddlers.
I brought this dlc and still haven’t beat it because I failed like 40 times and I got mad and just quit and have not come back to it since I first brought it
It's definitely the worst story pack. Reusing the 3 key card thing from City was lame and the robot room would have been a good challenge if you could move freely during combat. But the way Arkham combat works is you can only move at the moment of your attack/counter, not bob and weave freely among the enemies. Unless you remain passive, you don't have direct control of Catwoman's positioning, she auto-targets the enemies. So if she attacks further than you wanted her to, she gets locked in place on the electric floor helpless. The predator room after you collect the 3 cards was good though. It was very big with a ton of goons. Glad it becomes a challenge map.
The only way I can describe beating the last comabt section in this DLC is by pure, absolute, sheer fucking LUCK. Zero skill, all luck, because it's all such bullshit. A seemingly never-ending amount of robots, check. Lasers that Catwoman seems addicted to going through when striking enemies, check. The electric floor slowly coming in, that again, Catwoman seems fucking addicted to, CHECK. Edit: fixed spelling errors
I played this dlc for the first time recently in a marathon of the arkham series on steam and I was totally weird like you do the same thing in arkham city and then you have to beat the robots there just hoping you don't step on the eletric ground or do a takedown while the laser is on you it's one of those dlc that don't add nothing to the plot and is not even fun to play
I think the best moment from this DLC of Catwoman's Revenge was when she hits Riddler the same way she did with two face. (AC) Catwoman: " enough with the twos." (AK) Catwoman: " How's this for a payoff Enigma." Take all of his money.
Gauntlet room was so bad, man... Honestly, how they could have an amazing Batgirl dlc, and then a stinker like that with Catwoman in the same game is beyond me.
In terms of the last fight; there is a very fine, yet very distinct line between challenging and straight up unfair. That last fight is unfair and entirely luck based to even finish. Absolute 🚮
i just figured out that the final fight with the bots was easy is u just mash the strike botton try it guys just mash the strike botton and u will be surprised how fast the fight ends its as simple as that
I replayed the dlc and that final robot fight was hell. Took 18 replays to get lucky the robots gave me room to breathe. Edit: also when you attack a riddler bot and the electric square take all your health because your stun locked in the takedown animation and catwoman doesn’t move when it finishes so you die right at the end. The randomly moving lasers were pointless and there just to mess good players combos up. Her gadgets are glitched and very situational, and the fact that it’s such a 2 dimensional level to fight in. It would’ve been tolerable if there was a vertical area you had to jump to when the floor buzzes and the you jump down to keep fighting, you know in a boss phase? Nah just fight in 5X5 ft square while being lasered and electrocuted being punched by 20 immune robots also electrified.
Gameplay for this DLC always had me going "Meh" Didn't really feel like it brought anything new to the table, and even in terms of engagement it really failed to have me entertained for most part. Though from what I have heard from other people, it does make me think Scarecrow Nightmare DLC may have this DLC beat in terms of how awful the DLC is. Given it's PS4 exclusive, I never got to play it, but despite that I've seen so many say how disappointed they were with that DLC, and given it's so lacklustre, it's not even worth it for other platform owners to get annoyed/upset by the whole PS4 exclusivity (cause they're really not missing out on anything by it lol).
If you're struggling with this one just press square/y to attack don't waste time countering and using special moves cus the box will close faster. Btw set the game to easy by going the batman storyline
the stupid riddler robot boss fight with lazers and electric floors is harder than dark souls on its hardest setting, i swear everything to do with riddler in this game is annoying and tedious i dont even know why they tried with him, 200 riddles around the city each one more annoying than the other? what where they thinking?????

Lazily Throws 60 robots at you with a shrinking electric floor where if you try to hit one it throws you at a different one that's in the electric area and gets rid of 1/4 of your health bar.
I see it as Fake Difficulty, which developers keep slipping into their games lately and I'm not liking it.
I understand not wanting to be redundant in your game, but there beat points in your game you gotta hit each time for it to be fluid.
If you change those points or get rid of them, you are breaking the flow of the game and you are just left with players being frustrated with the gameplay and not wanting to do that ever again. Those kind of sections can and have stopped me from replaying games before simply because I didn't want to deal with that section.
when i was like 7 or 8 i could never finish this dlc now im 14 and still struggle to finish this horrid fight with the riddlerbots
I didn’t have that much of a hard time with this, but I totally get it. Very bad level design
Tedious and boring stealth sequence followed by a bullshit combat encounter, what a fantastic dlc.
It would be a good dlc without the last riddlerbot room, i remember wanting to throw my controller multiple times when first doing it
This is one of the hardest/most frustrating games I ever 100% completed (although I think it was like 120% or something like that). All the DLC, all three stars or whatever in the challenges and tracks and stuff, and every other little thing there is to do. And I’m not saying that as a flex, I’m saying that cause I’m still mad about it.
Her special move where she spins on the floor is much more useful than the insta takedown for this one
THIS. Just spam this move in the middle of the room to win
I thought I was the only one who hated it. I legitimately gave up on that DLC because of the room with the floor that kept killing me.
Jay, serious question:
As another content creator who makes Arkham videos (among other things), what do you use to record your footage for the Arkham games, and are you playing these on console or PC?
Keep up the great work!
We use something called Elgato HD60 and we usually play on console. This footage was recorded on the PS5! The elgato is something you buy and hook up to your computer and such and then it’s able to record 4K footage. I recommend looking into it as it’s the best recorder we can find but it has a lot of problems like losing signal and cutting out a lot. Especially if you don’t have much space on your PC.
We also use adobe premier to edit our videos! I highly recommend that software!!! It’s very fun to use!
The last combat counter was terrible and the initial stealth segment felt too much like the stealth sequence in Arkham City in a bad way.
I had the same problem,If you struggle with the robots, try beaten them up faster and they will die before you reach the 4 saquare space.
Me with 4 squares come on I’m nearly catwoman deciding to counter and flip into the electric killing her in seconds reeeeeeeeee
I agree. They gave a character who literally jumps all over the place a room where you just fight robots lol. They should've given her a jewel heist or something or how Riddler kidnapped her 💯.
The thing is that cat woman keep walking to the electric green traps after every counter. Its loosing by default. 😂
I finally played Arkham knight this year (my first and only Arkham game for now) and this was a pain in the ass.
A dlc is harder than the hardest difficulty of one of the hardest challenges
in the robot fight i keep doing my O+Y takedown and she slides across and just goes into the electricity so i lose my combo and all my health and it results in me just dying over and over
EDIT: AFTER 42 MINUTES I DID IT
Yeah this is the worst DLC ever in this game. Especially the part where you fight the robots on the electrified floor. I got upset because I died a bunch of times and had to restart the fight again
I will try this tip with the whip, the whip still kinda helps. Every Riddler mission & puzzle of the whole Arkham series is a real pain in the arse
Don’t let the final battle drive you crazy. All I did was spam the the attack button until it’s was all over, easy! You don’t even have to worry about the lasers.
I’m playing this shi rn it’s so hard to pass bro😭☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
DUDE CATWOMANS REVENGE DLC IS THE FUCKING WORST DLC AND DONT BUY THAT DLC
I buy cause I buy season pass so .
Really appreciate the Arkham and AC videos
Thank you for the support!
For any one having a hard time with the final part of this dlc the trick is to beat the enemies really fast, abuse of cat woman special and try to beat as many robots as possible before the whole flour get eletric
They could've atleast gave her more story lines its complete bullshit
Arkham Knight will be a playable DLC character in Suicide Squad, he'll be cracking jokes with the squad and wearing batman themed pajamas as a preorder skin.
Only way i can beat it is to go as quick and aggressive as i can with her going slow doesnt work for me
You sure it wasn’t the batgirl episode? That was the complete opposite in its difficulty. The UI and hints won’t stfu even though I turned them off. I felt like I was playing a game for toddlers.
I brought this dlc and still haven’t beat it because I failed like 40 times and I got mad and just quit and have not come back to it since I first brought it
That shit was pure unfair to the point I didn't finish it
Only good thing about this was the dialogue between the thugs
The DLC's are such a dissapointment of this game except Batgirl
This dlc actually cost about $62. 2 for the dlc and 60 for the new controller you’re going to have to buy after playing the boss fight
(AC) Catwoman: " enough with the twos."
(AK) Catwoman: " How's this for a payoff Enigma." Take all of his money.
Absolute 🚮
i just figured out that the final fight with the bots was easy is u just mash the strike botton try it guys just mash the strike botton and u will be surprised how fast the fight ends its as simple as that
I found this video while trying to see if I just suck as at the final boss but...
I thought the Catwoman DLC had potential, it just ended so fast and was little done but overall I’m grateful for having something instead of nothing.
Gameplay for this DLC always had me going "Meh"
Didn't really feel like it brought anything new to the table, and even in terms of engagement it really failed to have me entertained for most part.
