Even then I only find it offensive in a few areas. The Ace Chemical section is so boring. The Arkham Knight and DeathStroke fights are so bad because there is no normal, and good fight with these characters. And the lower section of the Knights hideout is also pretty offensive because you have to keep getting out and in.which is where I think the implementation is at it's worse. And any section that lightly uses the Batmobile requires you to hop in and out and use the winch awkwardly.

I feel like jason todd being the arkham knight would have been so much better if rocksteady didn’t say anything about the character. Looking at it isolated, it is a very nice «twist» which ties together the story’s theme of batman being afraid of failure and making poor decisions because of it. And jason redeeming himself at the end is a way too show how batman should have placed more faith in his allies.

    • @DegenerateJay

I completely agree with this. If the movie didn't exist and there was no Red Hood twist in the comics, sure this would have been really interesting. The issue was that it's just a reskin of Red Hood and it makes the game out to almost be a discount under the Red Hood at times. It's a little frustrating that they doubled down so hard on saying it was somebody else and then it just ends up to be him.

@@DegenerateJay "discount under the red hood"? How could u think Jason is the focus of the game? @@oglungbusta3587 it is titled arkham knight, not for his importance but bcs it fits with the rest of the series. Arkham knight doesn't sideline anyone, the game focuses on him in the first part of the game but Joker becomes the main focus after ace chemicals. And the game basically forgets Jason in the second half until his bossfight, showing scarecrow to be the true villain. That's another thing, Arkham Knight isn't the big bad guy like in under the red hood. He's focused on for a while but the game ultimately makes him quite insignificant compared to joker and scarecrow. Basically, arkham knight is one of my all time favorite games, and I accept it has flaws and is deserving of some criticism, but discount under the red hood, what with all the other far more interesting plotlines going on? You have to then track him down as he moves through the area, chase him to a building, and then get an all out balls to the wall boss fight that fully utilises the combat and even sequences where you need to sneak up on him between phases.

Didn't have the quality of bosses from previous games where each boss fight felt unique and different. Hand to hand boss fights, stealth boss fights, gadget boss fights. There’s way too much stuff in the game that relies on assault mode even outside of the tank drone segments, like using the wench and canon for riddler trophies/ breakable objects to shoot and other obstacles to progress and dealing with gun turret placements that prevent you from progressing.
It’s the assault mode stuff that I think people find irritating and overplayed. And for good reason. I don’t get why they emphasized it so much.

The only gripes I have are the insane amount of Riddler trophies, the stupid "don't get hit" Azrael side missions and the Deathstroke "tank" mission that is a complete waste of the character. The rest is really good, and I personally love the Two-Face and Man-Bat missions.

Even though the tank battles shouldn't be there. In Pursuit mode the Batmobile is very difficult to handle. I felt like throwing my PS4 out the window following Jim Gordon to the clock tower. 🤣

I think that the combat and stealth sections have been perfected, I dont even know if they can improve them. I loved moving throughout gotham because it looks so gritty and cool. I loved driving the batmobile, It truly builds on the batman experience and makes you feel like batman. I even like the batmobile combat. I know that the game has a bunch of problems with the story and the sheer amount of batmobile is just plane stupid but man this game is a gem. My biggest gripe: They should've found a way to include all the side mission villians like TwoFace and Penguin into the story. Having those side areas is fine, but why not have them be lieutenants in Scarecrow's army, using their knowledge and resources to fight Batman instead of just milling around.

The tank battles, the Batmobile, some of the story elements, the Arkham Knight and lots of other things are crap about it - but it’s graphics are great (as you said), the gameplay is great and it’s a nice send off to the series. However, ever since I've been replaying it recently, I have to say, despite all of the game's glaring flaws, I still love it and have such a fun time with it whenever I pick it up. It looks gorgeous, the story that went on with Joker in Batman's head was beautifully written, and overall I still love it. Rocksteady crammed almost 10 different storylines from the comics. With noticable changes. I'm 50/50 on joker involvement. Speaking of the whole Batman wasn't cured is bs he was that's how Batman is still alive in AK.

In my opinion the only thing bad about knight is how much the bat mobile is used. The story is amazing (even if with the whole Jason Todd thing), the gameplay when it comes to stealth, free flow and traversal is without a doubt the best in the series, the atmosphere in my opinion is better than asylum at a lot of times, the side missions were better than origins and city. The amount of dlc that came out like you said as well as the dlc side missions being so fun and a great expansion on things that happened from city. If anyone finished reading this, cheers.

I'm amazed how rocksteady nailed the driving mechanics their first time around. I, unlike the majority, have no problem with the batmobile and the tank combat. In fact I found it fun and couldnt wait for the next tank combat section. Also I disagree that the batmobile was overused. I used gliding as transportation most of the game. The game isnt forcing you to use it most of the time unless it's a ar mission or a story mission.

To this day, it is still my favorite video game of all time, and I get a lot of shit for it, but it actually is my favorite game. Plus in comparison to City and Asylum, I feel this game had a more in depth story. Don’t get me wrong I love of the story of City, but my biggest complaint is how short it is. I could go on for hours about how I feel about Arkham Knight but instead I’ll just leave you with this. I loved the story, and I hope all upcoming games will take notes from it, hopefully learning from the lesson that marketing can ruin a story

Jason Todd's predictability is only a problem on the first playthrough of the game's story, that's why I don't find that to be a very valid complaint, it's still true and people can be justifiably angry about it, but in the grand scheme of things it isn't a big deal, it's not a fundamental flaw in gameplay or anything that ruins the experience everytime. I also love those trippy jason Todd torture scenes, I love that isn't a cutscene and you remain in gameplay

If I could make one change to the game, I would add a pick up in the Arkham Knight HQ that would let you use the Remote Hacking Device to shut down the road bombs and Catwoman's collar. You can still do those sidequests as originally intended, but you can skip the padding if you wanted, and it's balanced by being a late game pick up.
