It's so unfortunate how the game turned out because the Bat-Family are absolutely 100% capable of holding their own game but this only made people think otherwise. Really hope that it's not the only time they get their own dedicated game.
Sorry to all the people who wanted a Nightwing or Redhood game. Knowing WB This is the closest you're all going to get for a while with these characters outside of being support characters in another Batman game. The biggest mistake was going for the Ubisoft-like Rpg elements in a time where people largely sick of that crap. But I called it back in the lead up to launch.
I disagree it's very memorable, I'll never forget the 2 inch curb that I kept getting stuck on in the middle of a fight over and over that made me just delete the annoying trash

It's been a mainstay since 1946, where Batman and Robin are invited to a hunt on Dinosaur Island, which at the time existed as a park filled with animatronic dinosaurs. (this was also long before Jurassic Park)

I think the biggest reason this game got such bad reception is cause it was living in the shadow of the Arkham games. A lot of the negative reception came from people going into this expecting another Arkham game, but when they didn't get that they bitched about it Edit: 100 likes!? I did not see that coming

I don't mind that Bruce didn't know about the Court, that's how it was in the comics and established them as the most secret of Gotham's secret societies. For them to stay off Batmans radar so thoroughly for so long, only being exposed by the smallest of clues collected over a decade despite being so dug in to the foundation of the city made them so imposing in their introductory story.
Well, there actually *is* a capeless outfit for her called the "Beyond suit". It's a paid DLC and was originally part of the pre-order bonuses if I'm not mistaken.
The reason why traversal is so slow especially the bike was because the devs couldn't get the map to load fast enough whilst also keeping a consistent fps. So they actually made the batcycle top speed 40mph 😂😂😂
08:30 The „gear score“ is only one side of the system. If you prepare some equipment sets with the proper elemental damage with the fitting mods, gameplay and fights become way shorter and the sluggishness is no longer a problem. I discovered this during one of the first fights against the big Bats on the rooftop. With my „best“ gear I was NOT able to make the fight in any way. But after switching my gear to way worse gear but with the proper elemental damage the fight was a breeze.

You didn't make a mistake. the League of Shadows also appears under that particular name in the live action show *Gotham* , in the animated show *Young Justice* , in the DCAMU movie "Justice League Dark: Apokolips War", and in many comic book storylines since DC Rebirth started in 2016, as a splinter group of the League of Assassins. No, it really wasn’t. I still enjoy playing this game it definitely could have been better but it’s definitely not as horrible as everyone was trying to make it out to be.

The moment the numbers popped up in the gameplay reveal after avengers and that gameplay demo in April 2022 I knew it was curtains for this game.
You're going to laugh. I think it was supposed to be a game as a service and that they changed their mind at the end of the development. It feels unfinished like if they had planned some more content after launch. More gear level and stats, more customization, a better MODS fusion system, maybe some more side story missions etc.

in my opinion i enjoyed the game but I think what killed Gotham knights was the fact it was so heavily compared to the rocksteady batman games. I enjoyed it mostly because I always wanted to play as red hood in a video game and I thought the story was okay defiantly not the best but I defiantly feel like there were some missed opportunities in there and I think it was just miss handled mostly, and a bit rushed.
We got four Batman games in row. WB tries something new and people complain it’s not Batman. The same people complain that there is nothing new and everything is a sequel.
@@stuartbagley2586 The fans of the game did compalin because the game was generally not that well written. The knights are very one dimensional in the main story (they have some interesting stuff, but it all went into the audio-logs, which most players will never hear), the story flops really hard, and wastes the whole Court of Owls, with a totally predictable villain. They left a ton of cool opportunities to waste, and there is generally very little nuance in the writing. Like the fact that Nightwing/the Grayson family has very close ties to the Court of Owls was totally left out of the game which I'm salty about. In the comics Dick was actually chosen as the next Talon by the court as a kid (Haley's circus was a breeding ground for top altheltes from which the Court took their pick to Talon-ize) and his great-great grandpa was one of the best Talons of the Court (William Cobb, who actually hunted Nightwing down during the Night of Owls, and tried to force him to join). In the comics he is the Talon hunting Batman in the Labirynth, and I don't understand why they left him out of the game. It could have been such a cool side-story. Or Jason. Don't get me wrong I like what they did with him in the game, but at the same time it could have been so much more. What makes him truely special in the BATfam is that he is the only one who is willing to dirty his hands, and the realist. A very interesting story happened during the Night of Owls storyline. The Court spent Talons for every Btafam members to weaken Batman's power over Gotham. Red Hood was attacked by a Talon (an athlete abducted by the Court from Haley's circus), who was abducted and changed into a Talon by the Court. They took his freedom, used him as a tool, mind controlled him, until a tortured husk reamined of the person he used to be. He begs Red Hoood to kill him, because the Talon-ization process the candidates go trough cannot be reversed (they are actually killed, and reanimated), and he would never be free until he 'lives' Red Hood mercy kills him. They could have given so much nuance to Jason's character, but they chose not to in this game.

Terribly rendered in the open world, Story was mid, Gameplay an fight mechanics are GARBAGE af. the way you upgrade characters is honestly boring an sad af. the Trials for everything is just basic an boring. Feels like a copy an paste of an early 2000's arcade game w an arkham spinoff.

I do like the game and play it now and then for a couple of hours, i just chill out and explore and do a few missions.....i like batgirls fighting style and the outfits look great.

The strength of the enemies are always relative to your current level and power (unless you just started new game plus, but that changed as you get further in), so I really don't understand how you did that much damage to her. Granted, I played robin (personal fav to play) on my first playthrough.
I played on medium, surprised that's the case as when my gear wasn't optimised I got stomped by the enemies I know they scale with your level but gear doesn't seem to factor from what I can see 💪🏻👔

To be honest, I realized that I don't really remember how that boss went down with robin all too well, so my experience probably was the same as yours. I do remember that I struggled with Talia on every other character, besides red hood since I saved him for my last playthrough, and they were stronger than my robin during their playthrough.
It was a pretty weird game, but to have fun I did these things: - It was not an arkham game. sp, leave it -Played the game with the two that made sense to go solo: nightwing ( the way to need to fight and go through the environment) or red hood in some cases. -Still it was a weird game and I did not like the ending, but then again. It is a spin off game.
It wasn't that bad. 6 out of 10. The story was average, and the gameplay was OK. I didn't like the grind and repetitive crimes and how all 4 characters were very similar play style.
8:19 you have to do Lucious fox missions for a clear explanation on mods idk if it’s a side mission or not. As for making the gameplay easier, with the right build the game is essentially easy mode no matter what difficulty and feels a lot closer to the Arkham games once you max everything out. The sense of accomplishment from maxing out is there for a while but the game falls flat on its face in the end unfortunately
The league of Assassins actually did have Man-bat soldiers called Man-bat commandos! This happens in the comics and one or two of the animated movies with Damian.

See the only things I enjoyed about this game was the lack of joker as the main villain, the “concept” of the court of owls, and playing with my friends. The weird dlc, they shoulda just unlocked 4 player co-op after the first heroic assault and discussed more missions oriented dlc and characters. But it’s over now I guess.
in the dc animated universe. i believe "Son of Batman", Deathstroke was i control of the league of assassin's oro shadows and had created an army of Man-Bats.
Arkham origins while being made by WB studio and not rocksteady, it was closely monitored by rocksteady and they even shared features from Arkham knight to origins.
I wanted this game to work so bad the combat just needed tweaks and we needed more boss battles. And certain gameplay mechanics needed to be either changed or deleted
@@Guyinthetie kinda 1's boss fights are kinda meh nowadays but the open world is still More the funnest things to explore and cause chaos and the second one has better bosses but the character still controls horribly when your inside a building and your trying to fight something
To me, it wasnt. I refunded the game whenevr it got so much hate, but recently bought it again on ps5 and really enjoyed the gameplay. It is nothing compared to older Batman games, but i really liked it!

I enjoyed it but I'm not an idiot I paid £3 for my copy so even though my experience was not so bad if I paid that full RRP at launch I would be refunding faster then light 😅 So made sure to cover that in the video.
I can say this about Gotham Knights: I played about half of it with a great friend, and we had a good time and lots of fun. The sacrifices made to get multiplayer running don't feel as bad if you actually manage to get co-op running. although I admit that bit was a journey.
I will blame the traversal always, I thought the combat was pretty good, over top of the dull level design just arkhams basic traversal would’ve made the game that much better but grappling is horrible and the vehicle gliding variety is not fair and must be grounded out per character which is weird yet everyone uses the same motorcycle
It's not bad but for the price it's asking for people would rather get a "great" game instead, you don't get praised for being not horrible at something, you get praised because you are good at something after all.
Holy fudge!! That mods system for increasing ur power is straight out of a looter shooter game and not for a single player story driven. I could spent that time exploring the map or some secret interaction, DC or batman easter eggs ......sheesssh! I just need a new weapon, a new suit then give me some plots or story.....geeeshhh. I have so many things going on IRL and the game wants me to even micro manage this character.....
I’m sure there were plans for DLC’s for Gotham Knights. They must of waited and see how the game turns out. Since the game didn’t do well we never got it. Rocksteady jumped the gun and thought the suicide squad was going to be successful and they already working on the DLC’s before the game was even released. They must of regretted on the DLC’s since they are losing more money because of it.
Me and a friend got the game on pc together, super cheap with all DLC and we played the entire campaign together over a few weeks. We used mods to fix some of the game's issues and generally tried to focus on progressing the story and not get held down by the grind. I would argue we had the best possible experience you can have with this game. 7/10, would not play again, would like to see a sequel that builds on what worked.

saving grace of this game was how cheeked up these heroes were, so much more care to them than expected honestly but yeah its bad just doesn't feel as bad wasting less money on it than before but that's still wasting it, better version exists in arkham knight playing each of them there
Throughout comic book character history, some earlier characters just couldnt "make it" into the comtemporary zeitgeist Some are lucky to endure, and some newer ones gets to shine in the limelight as well, but not necessarily gain the iconic status yet I wonder how or who it will be in the future to be a fandom darling
Something I think is pretty crazy is this game came out around the time of Kevin Conroys death and I chose to see this game as a sort of coping game for the fans who grew up with him as Batman even though it’s not him voicing Batman I still like the game and find it WAY more respectful of Kevin’s tenure as the dark knight then THAT GAME

With the DC sale I bought every Arkham game or Batman (not Lego) game. And honestly I love all of them. Gotham knights and suicide squad included The man bat serum was created by Kirk Langstrom who is found dead at the beginning of the game so it’s the clue that it was the league of shadows who killed him and stole his research to create what appears to be an army of Man-Bats
I really enjoyed playing Gotham Knights when it was released. I played through the game three times, using Robin, Red Hood, and Batgirl, sticking with each character for the entire playthrough. It's important to appreciate a game for what it offers rather than constantly comparing it to a masterpiece. Enjoying it for what it is can be just as rewarding.
I liked it! I think it’s biggest issue is that it wasn’t “Arkham-ish” enough for a fan base that expected it. Also today’s video game fan hates everything.
Did you know there was some concept art that was revealed early last year that showed off Catwoman, Damien Wayne, Solomon Grundy, and The Architect that we're most likely planned to be in the game? As much as I don't like this game, or Damien, for that matter, I'm kind of sad that they weren't included either in the Base game or as DLC. Selina and Damien are important BatFam members (BatCat for the win), and Solomon Grundy is a cool, big brute type of character that, because the game is severely lacking in the villain department, in terms of both quanity and quality, he would've been great to see again. Plus, fighting Talia as Selina or Damien, even if the boss fight is utter rubbish, would still carry such weight. Not so much the Architect, even as much as i appreciate, whenever a comic book movie, game, show, etc, utilises an underutilised villain, he feels a bit random.
Surprisingly enough I beat the game AND New Game +...the only word I have for it is MEDIOCRE. It clearly had some potential but the game had too much fluff and not enough substance Unnecessary mechanics like crafting, RPG loot and grinds The combat had little to no depth, the story was CW-level of writing (for better and worse) and the missions had little to no variety
The other 2 things that make it bad is that this game was pitch as a multi-player online game. You got 4 characters so and you can play the same character as another person at the same time but it only let's you play 2 players online which is such bull for this game. My friends and me were excited thinking we were going to be running around gotham as one of the 4 bat family members so imagine our disappointment when we found out you could only play 2 characters online. Its like come on at least make 3 player. The other thing was the costumes and there "customize" appearances. You could get new suits in the game and change their appearance by choosing pre-sets of 3 for each piece (cowl, emblem, gloves, boots, gear) but you couldn't mix and match parts of outfits then top it off some suits that you could preview in the outfit section you couldn't even get unless you perform certain tasks during your patrols. The talon suit(court of owls) for example you can only get by finding all the old memorials hidden through out gotham which is only indicated to be near by when Alfred tells you there are unusual readings near by. The game never even tells you about what you're looking for or anything. After you finally manage to find all this damn things, your award with the talon suit is the only thing that you can't customize it at all. That's right. it's just a transmog. Same thing with the rest of the cool suits that you would want they are just transmogs you can unlock but can't customize at all. You can't even change the color scheme. Would have been nice if the company could have added in more suits or something to draw fans back in but nope this is what we got. It's not the worse thing out there but yea it's not what we hoped for either.
I enjoyed this one, wasn't a memorable game, but wasn't bad either, the problem was the progression system based on challenges, controlling batgirl for hours and not being able to glide is like being spider-man and not being able to web swing lol

There's a lot to like in the game. It has some interesting gear concepts with villain motifs, the playable characters are ALL people Arkham players wanted in a game, and brought us co-op. I think it was... okay. Salvageable, and this rings especially true if what we got is because they yanked a whole ton of microtransactions and live service features out of the game before it launched. I just can't help but imagine the game we COULD have got if those features had never been put into the game in the first place. The idea of a game with Arkham design and combat, with playable Batgirl and all three Robins, is amazing. Different fighting styles, different combos, different techniques and gadgets, it honestly sounds amazing. And while I understand that they went with more of an RPG system for this game, I lament that decision and hope that despite its poor reception, one day we can get the Gotham Knights we deserve.

The reason why traversal is so slow especially the bike was because the devs couldn't get the map to load fast enough whilst also keeping a consistent fps. So they actually made the batcycle top speed 40mph 😂😂😂

The „gear score“ is only one side of the system. If you prepare some equipment sets with the proper elemental damage with the fitting mods, gameplay and fights become way shorter and the sluggishness is no longer a problem. I discovered this during one of the first fights against the big Bats on the rooftop. With my „best“ gear I was NOT able to make the fight in any way. But after switching my gear to way worse gear but with the proper elemental damage the fight was a breeze.

You're going to laugh. I think it was supposed to be a game as a service and that they changed their mind at the end of the development. It feels unfinished like if they had planned some more content after launch. More gear level and stats, more customization, a better MODS fusion system, maybe some more side story missions etc.

in my opinion i enjoyed the game but I think what killed Gotham knights was the fact it was so heavily compared to the rocksteady batman games. I enjoyed it mostly because I always wanted to play as red hood in a video game and I thought the story was okay defiantly not the best but I defiantly feel like there were some missed opportunities in there and I think it was just miss handled mostly, and a bit rushed.
Completely agree, it was either mishandled or rushed as there are great moments in the game just few and far between 💪🏻👔

The knights are very one dimensional in the main story (they have some interesting stuff, but it all went into the audio-logs, which most players will never hear), the story flops really hard, and wastes the whole Court of Owls, with a totally predictable villain.
They left a ton of cool opportunities to waste, and there is generally very little nuance in the writing. Like the fact that Nightwing/the Grayson family has very close ties to the Court of Owls was totally left out of the game which I'm salty about. In the comics Dick was actually chosen as the next Talon by the court as a kid (Haley's circus was a breeding ground for top altheltes from which the Court took their pick to Talon-ize) and his great-great grandpa was one of the best Talons of the Court (William Cobb, who actually hunted Nightwing down during the Night of Owls, and tried to force him to join). In the comics he is the Talon hunting Batman in the Labirynth, and I don't understand why they left him out of the game. It could have been such a cool side-story.
Or Jason. Don't get me wrong I like what they did with him in the game, but at the same time it could have been so much more. What makes him truely special in the BATfam is that he is the only one who is willing to dirty his hands, and the realist. A very interesting story happened during the Night of Owls storyline. The Court spent Talons for every Btafam members to weaken Batman's power over Gotham. Red Hood was attacked by a Talon (an athlete abducted by the Court from Haley's circus), who was abducted and changed into a Talon by the Court. They took his freedom, used him as a tool, mind controlled him, until a tortured husk reamined of the person he used to be. He begs Red Hoood to kill him, because the Talon-ization process the candidates go trough cannot be reversed (they are actually killed, and reanimated), and he would never be free until he 'lives' Red Hood mercy kills him. They could have given so much nuance to Jason's character, but they chose not to in this game.

Yes the game is horrid. Terribly rendered in the open world, Story was mid, Gameplay an fight mechanics are GARBAGE af. the way you upgrade characters is honestly boring an sad af. the Trials for everything is just basic an boring. Feels like a copy an paste of an early 2000's arcade game w an arkham spinoff.
I wouldn't say the gameplay was garbage but it was most definitely meh.. considering we got such a basic fighting system because of the multiplayer and its a dead online game now is sad 💪🏻👔

It's because the game was CLEARLY made in the time of "we're gonna make this a live service" and focused and then went back on said ideals thus broke the game.
People complained that it should have been more like Arkham series combat wise, now the complaining that is it's trying to copy the combat? if this doesn't explain why the game didn't do so well ratings wise then I don't know what will, " "Fans" are completely clueless and don't know what they want" unfortunately Gotham Knights was doomed when it was announced when the Close minded playerbase turned their heads when it wasn't another Arkham game, it's like people can't adapt to try new things, and I don't think Gotham Knights was that bad like people make it out to be, I just think certain people with limited capacity was bitter and still bitter that it wasn't your typical Arkham game. I do like the game and play it now and then for a couple of hours, i just chill out and explore and do a few missions.....i like batgirls fighting style and the outfits look great.
I do wish there was more to do in Gotham once the story is done though, there is only a handful of speed challenges and Bruce's batarangs to find 💪🏻👔

The strength of the enemies are always relative to your current level and power (unless you just started new game plus, but that changed as you get further in), so I really don't understand how you did that much damage to her.
Granted, I played robin (personal fav to play) on my first playthrough.
I played on medium, surprised that's the case as when my gear wasn't optimised I got stomped by the enemies I know they scale with your level but gear doesn't seem to factor from what I can see 💪🏻👔
@@Guyinthetie Yea I'm probably wrong on the gear part. To be honest, I realized that I don't really remember how that boss went down with robin all too well, so my experience probably was the same as yours.
I do remember that I struggled with Talia on every other character, besides red hood since I saved him for my last playthrough, and they were stronger than my robin during their playthrough.
It was a pretty weird game, but to have fun I did these things:
- It was not an arkham game. sp, leave it
-Played the game with the two that made sense to go solo: nightwing ( the way to need to fight and go through the environment) or red hood in some cases.
-Still it was a weird game and I did not like the ending, but then again. It is a spin off game.
It wasn't that bad. 6 out of 10. The story was average, and the gameplay was OK. I didn't like the grind and repetitive crimes and how all 4 characters were very similar play style.
I don't like to do rating systems but I'd be more 4 or 5 it's middle of the road for me for sure 💪🏻👔

As for making the gameplay easier, with the right build the game is essentially easy mode no matter what difficulty and feels a lot closer to the Arkham games once you max everything out. The sense of accomplishment from maxing out is there for a while but the game falls flat on its face in the end unfortunately

Yes, Rocksteady and WB Montreal's greatest weakness was always finding a way to make Joker one of the most important characters.
See the only things I enjoyed about this game was the lack of joker as the main villain, the “concept” of the court of owls, and playing with my friends. The weird dlc, they shoulda just unlocked 4 player co-op after the first heroic assault and discussed more missions oriented dlc and characters. But it’s over now I guess.

Arkham origins while being made by WB studio and not rocksteady, it was closely monitored by rocksteady and they even shared features from Arkham knight to origins.

I can say this about Gotham Knights:
I played about half of it with a great friend, and we had a good time and lots of fun.
The sacrifices made to get multiplayer running don't feel as bad if you actually manage to get co-op running. although I admit that bit was a journey.
I will blame the traversal always, I thought the combat was pretty good, over top of the dull level design just arkhams basic traversal would’ve made the game that much better but grappling is horrible and the vehicle gliding variety is not fair and must be grounded out per character which is weird yet everyone uses the same motorcycle
Costumes were A1 tho
It's not bad but for the price it's asking for people would rather get a "great" game instead, you don't get praised for being not horrible at something, you get praised because you are good at something after all.

Holy fudge!! That mods system for increasing ur power is straight out of a looter shooter game and not for a single player story driven. I could spent that time exploring the map or some secret interaction, DC or batman easter eggs ......sheesssh! I just need a new weapon, a new suit then give me some plots or story.....geeeshhh. I’m sure there were plans for DLC’s for Gotham Knights. They must of waited and see how the game turns out. Since the game didn’t do well we never got it. Rocksteady jumped the gun and thought the suicide squad was going to be successful and they already working on the DLC’s before the game was even released. They must of regretted on the DLC’s since they are losing more money because of it.
Me and a friend got the game on pc together, super cheap with all DLC and we played the entire campaign together over a few weeks. We used mods to fix some of the game's issues and generally tried to focus on progressing the story and not get held down by the grind. I would argue we had the best possible experience you can have with this game. 7/10, would not play again, would like to see a sequel that builds on what worked.

The man bat serum was created by Kirk Langstrom who is found dead at the beginning of the game so it’s the clue that it was the league of shadows who killed him and stole his research to create what appears to be an army of Man-Bats

I really enjoyed playing Gotham Knights when it was released. I played through the game three times, using Robin, Red Hood, and Batgirl, sticking with each character for the entire playthrough.
It's important to appreciate a game for what it offers rather than constantly comparing it to a masterpiece. Enjoying it for what it is can be just as rewarding.

I liked it! I think it’s biggest issue is that it wasn’t “Arkham-ish” enough for a fan base that expected it. Also today’s video game fan hates everything.
Did you know there was some concept art that was revealed early last year that showed off Catwoman, Damien Wayne, Solomon Grundy, and The Architect that we're most likely planned to be in the game?
As much as I don't like this game, or Damien, for that matter, I'm kind of sad that they weren't included either in the Base game or as DLC. Selina and Damien are important BatFam members (BatCat for the win), and Solomon Grundy is a cool, big brute type of character that, because the game is severely lacking in the villain department, in terms of both quanity and quality, he would've been great to see again. Plus, fighting Talia as Selina or Damien, even if the boss fight is utter rubbish, would still carry such weight.
Not so much the Architect, even as much as i appreciate, whenever a comic book movie, game, show, etc, utilises an underutilised villain, he feels a bit random.
Oh this game needed Catwoman! The Devs would've cooked with her on the story and with the umm.. models 👀

Surprisingly enough I beat the game AND New Game +...the only word I have for it is MEDIOCRE. It clearly had some potential but the game had too much fluff and not enough substance
Unnecessary mechanics like crafting, RPG loot and grinds
The combat had little to no depth, the story was CW-level of writing (for better and worse) and the missions had little to no variety
The gang missions were the worst for me they were bland to play and a grind to unlock 💪🏻👔
The other 2 things that make it bad is that this game was pitch as a multi-player online game. You got 4 characters so and you can play the same character as another person at the same time but it only let's you play 2 players online which is such bull for this game. My friends and me were excited thinking we were going to be running around gotham as one of the 4 bat family members so imagine our disappointment when we found out you could only play 2 characters online. Its like come on at least make 3 player. The other thing was the costumes and there "customize" appearances. You could get new suits in the game and change their appearance by choosing pre-sets of 3 for each piece (cowl, emblem, gloves, boots, gear) but you couldn't mix and match parts of outfits then top it off some suits that you could preview in the outfit section you couldn't even get unless you perform certain tasks during your patrols. The talon suit(court of owls) for example you can only get by finding all the old memorials hidden through out gotham which is only indicated to be near by when Alfred tells you there are unusual readings near by. The game never even tells you about what you're looking for or anything. After you finally manage to find all this damn things, your award with the talon suit is the only thing that you can't customize it at all. That's right. it's just a transmog. Same thing with the rest of the cool suits that you would want they are just transmogs you can unlock but can't customize at all. You can't even change the color scheme. Would have been nice if the company could have added in more suits or something to draw fans back in but nope this is what we got. It's not the worse thing out there but yea it's not what we hoped for either.
I enjoyed this one, wasn't a memorable game, but wasn't bad either, the problem was the progression system based on challenges, controlling batgirl for hours and not being able to glide is like being spider-man and not being able to web swing lol

There's a lot to like in the game. It has some interesting gear concepts with villain motifs, the playable characters are ALL people Arkham players wanted in a game, and brought us co-op. I think it was... okay. Salvageable, and this rings especially true if what we got is because they yanked a whole ton of microtransactions and live service features out of the game before it launched. I just can't help but imagine the game we COULD have got if those features had never been put into the game in the first place.
The idea of a game with Arkham design and combat, with playable Batgirl and all three Robins, is amazing. Different fighting styles, different combos, different techniques and gadgets, it honestly sounds amazing. And while I understand that they went with more of an RPG system for this game, I lament that decision and hope that despite its poor reception, one day we can get the Gotham Knights we deserve.
Gotham Knights felt like it wanted to be DC Online but didn't want to commit to the live service model.
