One thing to keep in mind; Brook is a little crazy. Unhinged by all his time alone on the ship. He's not dangerous, but has lost all grasp on the niceties of social interactions, like burping, farting, and asking to see people's undies.
Ace DOES love and support Luffy, but they've both got their own lives that they don't wanna get in the way of! They both believe that the other can/should take care of themselves, follow their own dreams and whatnot! That's just the kind of people they are 😂
IIRC, the filler between the Water 7 Saga and Thriller Bark included a couple that I liked. Definitely worth watching on your own. But from this point on, it may be less exhausting to skip it in reactions. Tears with the Mini Merry? Yeah, I reacted the same the first time. There are a few characters i could do without in this arc, like this one we can't see, but overall, I do like this arc. It gets… interesting. Asking to see panties is about the extent of Brook's skeeviness. He'll grow on you. Possibly more quickly than you'd expect. Side note: back in Syrup Village, Usopp pirates encountered a "cerberus" of sorts. It only had one head, but they decided it was a Cerberus. Now, of course, Usopp actually met a Cerberus. Another one of his stories that just happened to come true.
Cho (Brook's VA) does a great job of adding just a bit of insanity to his laughs. Imagine the body horror he's gone through on top of all the loneliness.
