Boa's own kingdom only see and care about her strength and beauty. the only person who was able to see through her cold exterior and gain her genuine respect was Luffy simply because he wanted nothing from her and called her out when she was actually being unfair. But what makes this so tragic is that he's not the majority, he's the EXCEPTION; he is the rarity. Boa has every right to behave "b*tchy" and cold to the world, because they do not deserve her kindness and gentleness. this is a woman who was r*ped and sold into Sl*very! A scared little girl who had been ripped away from her home and damaged and branded like cattle. So afraid to show even a crackle of softness to anyone out of fear of being taken advantage of, to the point where she's willing to kick cute animals to further show that nothing, not even cute things has a hold on her, and no one is the exception! her whole body was essentially altered and changed because she was force-fed a devil fruit for the entertainment of her jailers. Do you really expect her to throw away all her trauma and distrust? thats like telling a SA survivor to "get over it" because "not all men..." thats not how trauma works. how selfish it is to think that you are entitled to a persons kindness and gentleness. That is a curtesy earned not expected or owed. "Oh she's a turn off because she doesn't act like a sweet girl high off of rainbows and joy and sparkles" she is a deeply scarred human being who has been through sh*t and has seen some of the worst of humanity. A young woman who lives in constant fear of being exploited again. do you have any idea what it is like to live in such a state of mind? where not even those who claim to "love and worship you" even know your true self and only love your for your outward appearance.

I am GLAD that even despite meeting luffy she doesn't change from her ways like it's often seen in other media where a girls' cold heart gets changed and healed by some guy. because one guy or one good person isn't enough. She still remains cold and unapproachable to the rest of the world, because again, Luffy is the exception, not the norm. And all I have to say is; you go girl! she has every right to remain the way she is, and act the way she is. I'm glad that her "b*tchy" behavior is a turn off to people. good! as it should!
what a beautifully tragic and deep character, how beautiful and perfectly written. her story is heartbreaking and brutal. what a deep person and individual she is. a great example of how cases like her turn out. I hope she continues to turn off people, because that control she's regaining for herself.
