If you put fresh paint on it yes the crack lines will show. Hey, just wndering as i bought a bumper primed black already and the final coolur is supposed to be white. You think the black primer would effect that ? And how many cans did you use for the primer and how many for the actual paint same with clear? Please bro need help
Hi there KoksuDriftu that's fine one thing I would say is the primer these bumpers come with when new is rubbish and will affect your final result when I get a new bumper I just go ahead and prime it again with a good quality primer and then the rest of the process. All the quantities for each item are in the description its been a while since I did this job hope that helps :D
If that is a worry then the job hasn't be done properly the job shouldn't crack or scratch easily and the bumper should be installed the normal way a bumper gets installed
hiya i just did this through your steps and when i applied my paint to the bumper after priming the primer came out ans bubbles ovee my paint any reasons to why ?
There's multiple reasons that can cause that first I'd start with did you prep the bumper properly then I would look at the whether you used the correct paints for a plastic bumper where did you buy the paints from and did you use the correct sandpapers to prep the bumper
Sorry about the slow reply thought I'd responded to this comment spent about £65 quid the most expensive thing is the 2k clear the colour matched paint and primer were cheap
I have done this in the past on my first job and there is a few reasons that cause this. The first reason being using a very dark primer for a dark colour for example black primer on black paint rule of thumb is your supposed to use a light colour for a dark colour and vice versa, two your colour match you've had done is way off I personally wouldn't get my colour matched at Halfords only use local bodyshops that provides paints to auto body places when I had this experience I went to a local car paint shop for my paints and before you spray a panel I check the colour match on a paint card against the car if the colour match is good you won't need to blend if its not quite 100% you just do a slight blend into the other panels.
How big of a difference is 1k clearcoat compared to 2k. I found some 1k in my uncles shed he said I can use but idk if I should just go buy the 2k instead
It's not as resistance to the elements and things hitting it and the shine is also not as good 2k clear is what the bodyshop use because of durability and result hope that helps 😀
@@The_journeyy ill never use 1k clear ever again. If its an entire panel, wheel, little piece of trim, im always using 2k. The extra few bucks is worth it
Hi its because if the spray cans are used in the incorrect temperatures they won't work properly or they will leak easy enough problem to fix the environment we spray in is very important correct environment and temperature when spraying then problems like that go out the window hope that helps ☺️
You gotta make sure your not using a regular cheap clearcoat you got to use a good clearcoat like the bodyshops the 2k clearcoat with an activator like I used in the video and you need to put a good three coats I only put two in mine but the coverage was really good and the clearcoat I use is a high quality product hope that helps 😄

The bumper on this particular polo isn't very big so for mine it was enough but this will vary on the size of your bumper you might require two
Yes, but now, how do you install it with out cracks and scratches???
If that is a worry then the job hasn't be done properly the job shouldn't crack or scratch easily and the bumper should be installed the normal way a bumper gets installed
How many cans did u use
Have a look at the description all the quantities are there 🙂
Nice
Thank you Kevin 😊
Can I know the name of the silver paint can? Where you got it?
It's LA7W it's the colour code of my car had to matched for me from local autobody shop near me
What material is the bumper made of?
Some form of plastic 😊
verry nice bro!
new subscriber!
Thank you mate thanks for joining the team 👏
was this a plastic bumper?
Yes it's a plastic bumper 😊
@@The_journeyy brilliant cheers mate
How many cans of each did you use?
Hi Steve I used one can of each 😄
@@The_journeyy thanks
hiya i just did this through your steps and when i applied my paint to the bumper after priming the primer came out ans bubbles ovee my paint any reasons to why ?
There's multiple reasons that can cause that first I'd start with did you prep the bumper properly then I would look at the whether you used the correct paints for a plastic bumper where did you buy the paints from and did you use the correct sandpapers to prep the bumper
How much money did you spend on this overall? Is it worth the price savings vs getting it done professionally?
You’re looking at around £150-£200 per panel.
Sorry about the slow reply thought I'd responded to this comment spent about £65 quid the most expensive thing is the 2k clear the colour matched paint and primer were cheap
Not even close but good guess 🤣
@@The_journeyy I meant to get it done professionally (I should have been more clear).
Oh yes to get it done professionally it will cost you £150-200 per panel for sure 👏
I’ve painted my rear bumper with the correct paint code. But it’s darker than my car what do I do
I have done this in the past on my first job and there is a few reasons that cause this.
@@The_journeyy thank you I got my paint from a body shop but used a yellow filler primer so must be that
How big of a difference is 1k clearcoat compared to 2k. I found some 1k in my uncles shed he said I can use but idk if I should just go buy the 2k instead
It's not as resistance to the elements and things hitting it and the shine is also not as good 2k clear is what the bodyshop use because of durability and result hope that helps 😀
@@The_journeyy Thanks ima go get some 2k then
You probably figured out the answer to this already but the 2k has hardener in it that "dries" the clearcoat fully. The 1k remains soft
@mikeymike2552 and that makes all the difference on the final finish and durability 1k is the worst thing I've ever used
@@The_journeyy ill never use 1k clear ever again. If its an entire panel, wheel, little piece of trim, im always using 2k. The extra few bucks is worth it
hi, how is possible that your spray can did not leak?
Hi its because if the spray cans are used in the incorrect temperatures they won't work properly or they will leak easy enough problem to fix the environment we spray in is very important correct environment and temperature when spraying then problems like that go out the window hope that helps ☺️
@@The_journeyy thank you brother !
@socialmedianetwork5754 👏👏
Which spray cans did you use bro?
My Aerosol have a look at the description there is a list of all the items used in there hope that helps 😀
@The_journeyy Thank You. Gona do it on my bmw F30 rear bumper
Nice the car is going to be looking mint 👏
Idk bout u but 1500 just takes the clear coat right off bro
You gotta make sure your not using a regular cheap clearcoat you got to use a good clearcoat like the bodyshops the 2k clearcoat with an activator like I used in the video and you need to put a good three coats I only put two in mine but the coverage was really good and the clearcoat I use is a high quality product hope that helps 😄
O.m.g this is so bad I'm thinking its his first time ever holding a paint can in his hands 😅😅😅😅😅😅
Aww bless you 😂😂
