That was wonderful Ron. Thanks so much for taking me along. Beautiful Cotswold countryside, which unfortunatley for me, is only a memory now. Your adventures bring it all flooding back,.Stay safe and well please. Look after yourself and please give my regards to Pauline. See you next Friday
Lovely video, and your usual high standard Ron. Haven't been to Guiting Power for many years, although I was close by the other day when I was at Hawling. This looked a great walk, but, as you say, many children today would have protested at the length of the walk, and its steepness! I didn't know about the Guiting Manor Trust and the Mr Cochran who restored it. He sounded like a great man. Thanks again, take care, Paul.
I was only partially asleep Ron. Anyway, I always join in when James watches again during the week. James tells me he always wanted to visit Guiting Power but being car-less and not able to find public transport, he never did. Thanks for getting him out for an adventure Ron. Sumac OVM.
Good Morning, Ron. A lovely video, and walk which brought back a lot of happy memories for me. I did a lot of forest and amenity establishment work, in the 70’s, for the Guiting Manor Trust, and met Mr. Cochran on several occasions. A likeable man, he was always popping out to see how you were getting on. I did a lot of fencing and amenity tree planting around the Manor too. Thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed the vlog. Take care, Ron.
I'm glad I waited to watch that one Ron, what a wonderful walk and just what I need to give me pleasant dreams before turning in for the night. OVM however is already twitching and "woofing" in her sleep next to me. "Do-it-yourselfery"...I may just have to import that one...full credit to you, of course. Thanks Ron.
Thanks James, sounds like we have converted you from city to countryside lover. Who needs London when we have quaint little villages. Have a good week. Ron
Gosh, how beautiful. Must have driven past Guiting Power a thousand times, never bothered to stop and explore. I will correct that grievous error next time I visit. Lovely, thanks!
Thanks, Ron. A lovely walk, but a bit tougher than you expected, I think. A bit like the way I used to walk to school 70-odd years ago - it was three miles uphill going, and four miles uphill coming back. Times were hard in those days. Take care!
One of the most delightful Cotswold walking areas, on one walk we returned to the village to find a music festival in full swing, finished off the day in style.
Ron, What a lovely walk at the end of a hard days work, how nice to see an area that is a time capsule it could easily have been 1921 or 1821, I am sure the people who live there will be fully aware how privileged they are to live in such a beautiful area. I will be late again next week but will catch the Vlog in the evening. Take care and I hope your ok after what was a hard walk for you. Andrew.
@@ParkinsonsWalks Hi Ron, Glad your recovered fully, Monmouth is quite interesting for railways with the bridges over the river and quite an extensive goods yard at Monmouth Troy. There were two stations in Monmouth so there will have been plenty for you to film. Take care, Andrew.
Lovely walk Ron, the countryside around Guiting is definitely some of the most tranquil. High standards of motoring in the area too apparently. Out here in rural Essex that unsuitable road would not only be considered perfectly suitable, but it would probably be an improvement on many of ours.
Hello Ron. I said “I’ve never heard of Guiting, but Mary, who knows all things Cotswolds, replied that she’s taken me through it several times.” I have to take her word for that. Not an easy walk for you, but for every uphill, there will be one going down. Nice little walk, with many difficult decisions to make at track junctions. But you got back to the start, so well done. Thanks for that lovely walk.
@@ParkinsonsWalks Do you remember that little bridge over the stream? A few years ago they covered that whole area in biodegradeable artificial snow and recorded Susan Boyle's Xmas album there. It took nearly a year for the deposits to degrade
A delightful stroll through peaceful countryside. Very enoyable. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it Malcolm, I did too. Ron
And not a car to be seen Ron. Thanks for such a peaceful walk
Thanks Peter, I really enjoyed it. Ron

Very nice adventure. Thanks for sharing this.
My pleasure, thanks for watching. Ron

Another enjoyable walk Ron, lovely scenic part of the Cotswolds. Thank you for sharing and all the best Ron and take care.
Thanks John. I was walking along the river Wye this week, I thought of you, Autumnal mist, hazy sunshine, you would have loved it. Keep smiling. Ron
