Putin is destroying Russia, The power is connected to money the rouble and the world's banking system. The true power is with the Banks. Ukraine is the Ace in the gambling pack, the problem is the dealer is a card shark and a magician. The game is rigged. Russian is not either, but a player sat at the table with much bigger boys. The card shark dealer walks away with a nice bag of money. Power is the same as poker only one is the winner. It is the banker who walks away with the winning stash bag stuffed with money. The prize is Russia it's self and Putin used Ukraine on the Table as his cash stash forgetting the top big boy was also playing and he had rigged the game.
Please don’t take this wrong but why is it so backward in Russia?
It’s a very rich nation but somehow it needs to find a path to change.
My prayers are with you as I think you are doing something very important by giving us a view inside Russia.
Thank you and God bless you
@@ronlee2776"why is it so backward" the bullies and psychopaths have been allowed to take what they want.
i'm sorry but is there anyone left with a route to power that isn't corrupt as hell and actually cares about the russian people more than their own pocket
I have been waiting for this for a long time. I told my wife, friends, and anyone who would listen that Putin would fall from the inside. As soon as this war started, I knew that if they didn't take Ukraine right away, Putin's fall would begin. I've either had people disagree or didn't care. People should care. There is a lot going on in the world right now. China is having huge problems, and it's only going to get worse. It's just the beginning for them. Russia is well into their fall. This affects us all. When people get complacent, they are ripe for the taking. Unfortunately, not enough people care about what is going on around them.
I often worried about you. I remember you talking videos in Russian malls and public places. When you started to criticize Putin and the leadership, I thought you were either suicidal or you got out of Russia. Thank God it was the second story. God bless you, and I am very interested about your thoughts with the war and the fall of Putin's reign. I'll continue to watch and pray for you. I know there are many Russians who have no ill will about the Ukrainians. It's those people that I feel so sorry for. They are going to pay for not giving a damn when Putin decided to be the dictator, not President of Russia. The people should have risen up. However, they didn't. Now, they will pay for their complacency and Putin's crimes.
What will happen to all the nukes in Russia when it does fall?
@@wyattearp4475Ukraine, USA, UK, and EU will take appropriate measures about it. But before that there going to be The Hague tribunal

@wyattearp4475 those nukes are already a threat. They already are suffering from a lack of maintenance due to corruption in the military diverting funds for parts and maintenance into their own pockets.
I was deputy leader of an educational exchange to Russia USSR in 1976 and our UK specialist predicted the breakup of USSR but also predicted that because Russians can not conceive of life without strong leadership (= dictators) then the system that replaced it would be similar, because the concept of humility and subservience to democratic ideals was alien to the accumulated concept and history of Russians. Wasn't it a French philosopher who said the principle of democracy and fairness is "I may not agree with what you say but I will defend your right to say it", a concept alien to most Russians. How do we get good people like you to change Russia, or is a breakup and instability another inevitable part of the cycle of revolution in your county. I pray for peace and your health, your emotional state is communicated to us and we share your pain. God bless you and peaceful Russians.
If that is principle of democracy then democracy failed a long time ago in Europe an USA
@peternicholson4417 The quote you attributed to a French philosopher actually originated from an English woman who wrote a biography of Voltaire. I agree that Russia, to evolve into a successful society that works much better for its general population, is in dire need of many more such as Konstantin. It could be a long, hard road though; the landmass and diversity of culture & ethnicity is so vast that one central 'Government' (dictatorship) cannot possibly run it efficiently except to attempt to control its peoples by any brutal means necessary for the purpose of absolute power. So many resources (including people) utterly wasted which is the tragedy. I can't see any way for this to improve other than the breakup of the RF into separate independent/autonomous countries/states in their own right. It could be a long, bloody battle and only the peoples within the RF can improve their lot. Good luck to Konstantin and those like him.
« I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it »
It’s by Voltaire, an 18th century writer and philosopher.
Olivier de France 🇫🇷
check out the term democracy. The original word demos came from the very early ancient Greek societies, it specifically described one class of people: very wealthy men who had slaves. Democracy means the power of such men. You see, in the West, they do not deceive people about their plans, it's just that regular folks do not bother to research what it is that you agree to accept.
In ancient Greece, ancient Athens had its slave population of about 80,000 in the 6th and 5th centuries BC, on average three or four slaves per Athenian household of citizens. So, democracy indeed means “the power of those who are wealthy and own slaves.” The Aeolians (Αἰολεῖς) were one of the four major tribes in which Greeks divided themselves in the ancient period (along with the Achaeans, Dorians and Ionians). Aeolians more openly referred to “demos” as wealthy slave owners, which would correspond to the upper or upper-middle class in modern terms. It is interesting that so many centuries later, you view that system based on slavery as progressive just because it was acknowledging and counting for the opinions of slave owners.
Even Athens, by far the largest of all city-states, only contained an estimated population of about 200,000 people in the year 500 BC. Many of these people would have lived not in the city but in the surrounding countryside, and only about 35,000 men would have been full citizens with the right to vote.

The classical dictator dilemma. Competent underlings are a threat. Incompetent underlings are, well, incompetent and compromise you. And even the incompetent one may get delusions of power and start looking sideways at you.
Same applies to business. A terrible boss sees competent employees as a threat instead of an asset.

On the other hand when Churchill asked Ghandi on his visit to England what he thought of western democracy Ghandi replied "that sounds like a good idea"

Ghandi also has a quote attributed to him that "He'd be a Christian, if he had ever met one"

What a lot of us westerners still get wrong about the russian oligarchs is that we think it is those rich buisness having the say.
Some years ago I saw a documentary about the case of Chodorkovsky in which a russian lawyer explained: To understand the whole story one needs to know, that with the SU only the leadership went down, but the middle managment - mostly KGB - remained in place. They understood that economy had to change, but if they simply sold to the highest bidder, they would sell out to foreigners, loosing all control. Already because no Russian had any money to buy an oilfield. So they decided to pick some promissing youngsters and gave them those oilfields, telling them to enjoy life, but be under no illusion - the real owners are those KGB guys. If they tell you to jump, oligarchs are supposed to jump. Chodorkovsky attacked this arangement and found himself being made an example.
This to me was eye opening, since then a lot of things which looked very confusing before, started to make sense. But now a lot of the KGB guys have a lot to loose too. I am very curious how all this ends.
Read about it. The kgb was also the mafia of black market goods prior to fall of the SU, so they were the ones who understood capitalism and conected to the guys who were already doing business and trade outside the state control who were at the time criminals.
That's the consequence: it's easier to change the political regime than to change the economical model.
Ukraine was/ somewhat is on that boat. It's pretty much the same in all former soviet republics.
Just like the mafia
Khodorkovski was convicted for tax evasion and the order of the assassination of the mayor of some Russian city. He haven't "jumped" against the system. He just thought that he is untouchable and he can do whatever he wants. Well, he was wrong. Now instead of living the lavish life, he is giving Uncle Sam daily tongue baths for pennies.

Be. Safe
Seeing the Patriarch Kiril in the midst of these Russian oligarchs makes me sick. He is no follower of the gospel of Jesus Christ. There is a special place in hell reserved for him if he doesn't repent.
You must understand that many Russian Priests are from the KGB, always have been. it has nothing to do with Christ but how one secures money and control.
He is a Putin hack just like the oligarchs.
Sin and repent. Isn't that the gospel of the Russian Orthodox Church? It doesn't matter what your sins are. how horrible the deeds, as long as you repent, the gates of heaven will open for you.
@@MilaN-lt2mq Same for the Catholic Church. Different churches, same origin.
It's eerie to listen to Kirill talk. I love God in all his forms, and how he can blossom our human existence. Kirill just isn't that. It's uncharted territory for me in reality, aka not Hollywood.
You just gave a perfect description how narcissists function. In the end they destroy each other because they are used to ‘never enough’. The honest and compassionate ones have a bigger chance to survive, because sharing is already their way of life.
I read about Timur Ivanov's arrest, but I underestimated the importance of this event. Thank you for pointing out to us the things that are happening in Russia which are really important. The Russian people deserve better.
I'm a little torn on the "deserve better" thing...
On one hand, if I simply see them as fellow humans, I absolutely agree. But when I see them as people who "need" a strong leader instead of a system that puts more responsibility on them, isn't it more a "be careful what you wish for" thing? Even if I see it as something they simply grew up in and never really had a chance to learn about escaping...
To use a fairly extreme analogy - does a born psychopath who hasn't "chosen" his lack of empathy and who has simply acted accordingly in some specific situation deserve better when he finds himself in jail for some heinous action? I'd say on some level, yes, on another, no...
K, I spent two years reading nothing but 20th century Russian history and later absorbed a few volumes of the post Gorbachev years (Yeltsin, etc) and that education tells me that you are spot on in your predictions. Ukraine has merely provided a context for the political breakdown in the country. That conflict has brought ruin to the Russian economy and to the assets of the various oligarchs and others in power. And those folks cannot be happy about those economic losses and the threats to their future prospects. IF it is true that, as you say, any one of those people aspire to being the leader of the Russian State it will only be to protect and advance their own economic interests. How they might try to do that is another question altogether. Personally I think that the only chance the entire Russian society has is to end the war and get the sanctions removed and to SOMEHOW manage through the inevitable economic malaise that will exist for (likely) decades as the country is forced to pay reparations, rebuilding in Ukraine, etc. But eventually that society at least HAS THE CHANCE to become "normal". Of course, as you have pointed out, Russia has repeatedly failed to "be" normal (in the sense of western democracies)--it had the chance during the Yeltsin years and perhaps even in the early Putin years, but apparently the Deep State (haha!!) was so ingrained that it could not embrace western capitalism, an honest judicial system, and an open and transparent democratic process.
SO, whoever that person might be, whichever party it is that manages to topple the Tsar, they're somehow going to have to manage a complete rebuilding of Russian society--politically, economically, socially, etc. I just don't think that the Russian people are capable of it.
And just so you know, I am also quite cynical about the chances of the United States to hold itself together insofar as what it has historically been. The population here is simply too self-absorbed and too uneducated. Critical thinking is in increasingly short supply here and we're holding on by a thread.
Thank you! Sad to hear about the USA
Quite correct. Although the West APPEARS to have freedoms not experienced in Russia, those who claw their way to power are far more concerned with WHOSE GOING TO EAT THEIR LUNCH than doing an honest days work in SERVING THE PEOPLE in any way and form. Both systems are destined for ultimate failure unless the entire MORALITY and TRANSPARENCY issue is adressed. WHICH WON'T HAPPEN SOMETIME SOON. Konstantin , some excellent takeaways today, thank you.

I agree that this arrest is a big deal, and probably much bigger than I could imagine as far as the political intrigue that is transpiring. It is my hope that what you say is true, that internally the order is breaking down and soon will become much more obvious to the outside world that it is failing. I'm not as optimistic. Just because Putin will lose power at some point, doesn't mean someone just as bad won't take his place. The example of North Korea shows that a ruined economy is not necessarily enough to topple a sufficiently determined and well armed regime.

Very good stream, Konstantin! Timur Ivanov's arrest reveals deep tensions within the RU power structure. Particularly FSB and army have much to blame each other for. The army blames the FSB for misjudging Ukraine's reisistence potential prior to the invasion. The FSB blames the army for ineffective operations in part due to corruption among senior officers.
And oligarchs see their grip on companies loosening and their wealth at risk as much manufacturing is now directed by the state for use in the war.
Last week a guest in Olga Skabeyeva's TV show openly said that Russia now reminds him of the late USSR of which he had very clear memories. So yes, an ugly internal fight looks more and more likely.

At 23:00 You were trying to come up with an English equivalent of a Russian phrase that you literally translated as "To take dirt out of the house."
In U.S. English, we have two idioms that might work.
For the family (or organization) that doesn't want everyone to see that they have a problem, we would say that they "Don't want to air their dirty laundry." In this case, "to air" means to hang laundry on a clothesline for air drying. (A practice which has become relatively uncommon in the U.S.).
For the person who wants to retain an air of respectability, we would say "He likes to keep his hands clean." In other words, he arranges for others to do the dirty work.
Keep up the good work!
Same as with Hitler, the people around him saw the disaster coming, but could not extricate themselves in time !
Rudolf Hess flew to Scotland on his own initiative, willing to negotiate a one-sided peace, but was locked up and ignored by Britain ! Neville Chamberlain was never allowed by Churchill to return, to make another attempt at peace !
I was thinking the same thing. I came to the comments to see if anyone else had the same thought.
The English expression is almost the same: To air one's dirty laundry.
Why Shoigu was being forgiven for his failure to act and protect Putin during the Prigoshin mutiny is as you said that he is and has otherwise proven himself to be loyal to him. But an equally important reason to keep him at his post is the fact that he is probably the least dangerous man to hold the position of the head of the army because of his organizational inefficiency. He couldn’t organize a successful coup.
Shoigu didn't have to protect Putin. Putin got on a private jet and fled to St Petersburg. Then attempted to fly into another country that refused him. Prig wasn't even after Putin, so ai din't get why he was trying to run anywhere
There is a theory that Shoigu caused the mutiny in the first place by starving Prigoshin of ammo. The goal was to ultimately seize all Pregozin's assets for himself and his deputy. Rumors say that Putin found out and is punishing them.
When Prigoshin marched on Moscow he made it clear he wasn't critical of Putin but he was fed up with Shoigu. To do so, he must have felt he had a lot of insider support against Shoigu. But that support faded and he backed down, ultimately costing him his life when Putin reneged on his "deal". Anybody else daring such a move must realize they can't be making half-hearted measures, so I imagine if it's not Putin himself sending Shoigu a message, then there's going to a dramatic increase in fatal window accidents.
Also, why now? America passing the spending bill for Ukraine might have been something they were waiting to see, because without it, the rout was on. Now Ukraine can hold on long enough to get the F16s and more organized European support, including possible French troops in country. Hopefully, powerful people behind the scenes have has enough.
K: "Putin values people for their loyalty." Me: Can anyone expect the same loyalty from Putin? Or anyone in the Russian leading block?....

Well said!
As an American this was a fascinating take on Kremlin dynamics. This was reported in Western media but no one has really framed it the same way you have. Of everything I've heard this makes the most sense that this is another sign of the Russian authoritarian state weakening internally.
However where I may caution is in the certainty that this will lead to the "fires of civil war" in Russia. It is difficult to understand all that keeps Putin's regime together, and we can hope that it cannot hold up to internal and external pressures. To use your analogy though, dogs are tenacious survivors and you should never count them out. Even if the regime falls, this will likely still mean persistent war and violence throughout the region which will undoubtedly have negative impacts on Ukraine and many others too.
I think this is one of the most reliable analysis we can get for the time being.

They were neither up nor down.
We called it the king of the mountain :)
King ofThe Mountain- yes, we played here in the states. Kids don’t play it now; they play video games. One thing it taught me was that when you militarily occupy the high ground, it’s hard to throw you off - think of Fredericksburg, Pickett’s charge at Gettysburg, and Boudicca’ s last charge against the Roman general. These weren’t very steep hills.
Yes, we called it. King of the Mountain too.
Me too. I am 68 and we played "King of the Castle" for hours on end. The intriguing part is that the group trying to take "the king" off the top of the hill or whatever all co operated to remove "the king" . When he was about to lose his spot the group turned on each other as each boy wanted to be "the king". Similar things going o in Russia ?
Konstantin if you don't have a food taster, please get a dog to test your food. Getting worried that your not feeling well may be Putin adding some unhealthy ingredients to your diet. Be safe and keep your head down. Thanks for your insights. They are very good.
Wow you are cruel poor dog
Can’t tell for now, 10 years ago, 1.5kk roubles could buy you a one room flat in the province (about $42k back then). My 2 bedroom flat in Yaroslavl cost 2.5kk. Many would spend an entire lifetime on such a deal
I’m amazed at your command of the English language. It makes your message much easier to understand. It is getting clearer that what is going on in the world right now is not sustainable. Thank you for your insight.
Hello from Finland, and thanks! This was informative as always.
Moscow and Kremlin internal politics is like watching the Game of Thrones. 😮
Liked the "Churchill " quote. We have a 4m statue of him in our city centre.
2 star general (arch thief) fired by a guy in charge of defense who never served a day in his life. 🤣 Barnum & Bailey comes to mind.
Why its just like US politics. A draft dodging SOB co s his way to the top and then fires the leadeds of the military that helped put him there.
Amazing. Who k ew we had so much in common with the Russian gangster state.
Unlike any number of Americans who wish to run the Armed Forces, Shotgun was appointed, I believe. Then again, I heard Putin never ran after a position in his life - people just kept putting him in. Of course now his head is so swollen he thinks he belongs there. I don't know him but I can't imagine him saying Screw this. I just want to go fishing.
Spot on
Thank you, K, you're simply the best!
Dear Constantine, The arrest of Ivanov can also be negative. If high ranking officers in the Russian army demand from Putin an even more aggressive approach in the war, maybe nuclear, the arrest could be a first step in that direction. Its just impossible to know, unless you have inside information.
Incredibly good analysis Konstantin! Thank you for your work!
A dictator such as Putin always stands with one foot in the grave. The question is not when will he fall, but will his successor be even worse. One has to have sympathy for the long suffering Russian people but unfortunately they never seem to be able to shake off their suppressors. In a country as rich in natural resources as Russia, the average person should be as wealthy as the people of Norway.
They can't escape their own psyche.
Dumb people uneducated about surrounding world.
By the way- I suppose that P. is already dead. He looked very beaten up by illness and even had the signs of near death in his face ( ask any skilled nurse). In order to win time to find a successor it probably would have been decided to use one of his well trained doubles to take over, until the new leader has won the kremlin-war. Speculation - but there are plenty of indicators.
Totaly wrong. The ppl/average person in Norway are NOT wealthy. It's the state/Government who is rich. The oilwelth, world largest wealth fund are spread all over the world in stocks, bonds ,currencies and real estate. And there is no plan if or when the godies will be for the ppl to spend. Norway = Communist country. The government spend the money on importing ppl from muslim countries and the welfare and the well being of them. The government steal the pension from the ppl and let them work longer. The country is a mess. Healtcare, school/education, infrastructure/roads, police, law & order, justice - about everything goes to smithereens. We have ended up like Sweden. Guns, shoting and murder almost every day. We have become a Shithole Country.
That's what I'm wondering. Who comes after Putin?
Russia has no long term future..
Ukraine has.
Uk
Yes indeed. Because Ukraine is a democracy with many friends.
Russia has a better future without Putin. When that happens we’ll see if a page can once again be turned
Imperial Russia sold Alaska to the United States for about 150,000,000 in today's United States Dollars. This points rather clearly towards the Economic dysfunction of Moscovy. This Economic dysfunction is still a centerpiece of the functionality of those who rule Moscovy.
@carolwilliams8511 the people taxed to death in North America are furious with our political corruption funding this ridiculousness. We don't have any future either. Land thieving, genocide, slavery, & racism segregation. Welcome to Canada, but much like a fouled shidder Canada is full. We are doomed.
Rubbish
Konstantin, I hope you will appear on "Silicon Curtain" soon. These revelations have to be heard by as many people as possible.
Shoigu got sacked right after this arrest, so this analysis was spot on in retrospect. The only question remains is whether Putin initiated this change or was coerced into initiating it by someone(s) with rising internal power. The odds are the former and not the latter, but the latter is so much more interesting and quite frankly perplexing. Shoigu to the FSB safeguards Putin but may have been a compromise to get a new army chief loyal to someone else. Ostensibly the new army chief specializes in economic efficiency which in theory should improve army performance by stopping the diversion of funds into corrupt hands while at the same time getting someone with a history of strategic and tactical failure out of that position. The question however that remains is who is the new army chief, Belousov, loyal to first, Putin or someone else?
My grandpa was a Ukrainian Jew who came to America in the 1920's. He died in 1984 and never trusted Russia. His stories of the ingrained xenophobia and corruption seemed unbelievable to my young American ears. Besides grandpa, it's all the Soviet Union now...... his words ring louder than ever. My heart goes out to the victims of the century's cruelties at the hands of Russian elites. Russia must learn from this.
The appropriate English saying is "Putin doesn't like to wash his dirty linen in public".
Very interesting. Subscribed.
Thank you, I looked at the translation for what he said and it did not sound like what he said "выносит сор из избы"
climbing the ladder of success is a rocky road, one corporate guy I know said 'the higher you get, the closer you are to the exit'. In this, Russia and corporate America are the same.
Excellent stream! And very informative.
I remember quite recently when the elites in Russia weren’t Russian. Dual citizen types, the Boca Raton demographic.
Didn’t someone say EVERY Russian oligarch has dual citizenship? Would love to know which countries.
I gotta tell ya man, I didn't expect to wake up to a Russian expat telling me spicy Kremlin drama while quoting Pulp Fiction... Subscribed!
Empires collapse in chaos and confusion, thank you for your continued insight and effort ...
All great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope.
Winston Churchill
The way I see today's Russia power system is just like a Jenga game... Putin is pushing piece by piece, testing his luck.
Ganz richtig: Er ist ein Spieler und kann nur voran - weil (seit seiner tragischen Kindheit) immer jemand hinter ihm her ist...
Hi K, Hope all is well with you and the family and that all are safe. Thanks for all your hard work in difficult circumstances. Love to all. ( TC )
Konstantin, you're such a great and honest person! Thank you for your channel! Wish you all the best!
Ivanov owns a villa with the address that appears in Bulgakov's main work.
Sadly, he learned nothing from Bulgakov.
Doomed to repeat it. What he thought was ironic is... ironic.
Who will get the villa next?
Which one is putin, Behemoth? Is Pescov Fagot or the guy with the fang and the chicken bone in his pocket? One thing for sure, Margarita Simonyan is Mos Def NOT Margarita!
@@nicolasolton thats not decided yet.
I have a feeling things will not go the way we want it to. We want the empire to fall like it did last time, but last time the empire was caught with its pants around its ankles. Yes, things can't continue like this, but how it will end, I don't know. And what replaces it is not guaranteed to be better. Hell is like the singularity in a black hole. We may have passed the event horizon, but we are not at the bottom of that singularity yet.
Yes the great unknown.
we dont even know if the singularity have a "bottom"
@@bennygummisko Doesn't time slow down at the event horizon? Damn, I want to know the end of the story.

Only Russia would put an Army general in charge of construction projects 🤣I guess everybody deserves bribes!
"A house divided cannot stand."
As a US citizen living far away from Russia and the former Soviet Union, understanding the “political system” and the mindset of “typical” Russian citizens is difficult because I live and think differently coming from a democratic nation. The invasion of Ukraine has led to more opportunities for me to try to wrap my head around the thinking and underworkings of Russia. I thank you for taking the selfless initiative for your homeland and your safety to help us understand, to let the world know the truth. I pray it aides in bringing change for the sake of the Russian people, peace in Ukraine, and peace throughout the world.
Just want to say that Russia/Putin have stated he wanted Alaska back!! Between Russia and Alaska, there are 2 islands, one is Russian the other one belongs to US. The distance between the islands are 8 kilometers. So its probably also of great consern to US what happens in Russia .
Thanks, Konstantin, for the PULP FICTION taste! A little Tarantino helps the crazy news go down. Greetings from Canada.
Thank you, Konstantin. Your take on the usual Russia is so important. Too many in the West persist in considering Russia as a real country instead of a crime family. 👍
Only fools think that.
The photographs of Ivanov speak volumes about who he was. Thanks for the information and thoughtful analysis.
I do not know enough about Russia to have an opinion about a civil war.
Your insight is well appreciated.
Russia is apparently like that original Star Trek episode "Piece of the Action" where the entire society was based on a left-behind book about 1920's gangland Chicago.
Or Russia is like the episode "Patterns of Force", anyway Star Trek is a good source of information😃
Isn't it also possible that Shoigu's right hand guy became too cozy with the elites he was awarding money to, which prompted Shoigu to feel threatened? If that is the case, then Putin arresting that general would probably send a message to the others to not become more popular than the boss, instead of a move by the elites to undermine Shoigu.
He was too greedy and did not pay enough to Shoigu and Putin?
Prigoshin was also too popular .
Mafioso
I've always had an appreciation for the way eastern cold-war guys talk about corrupt politics. Light hearted, down to earth, and simple laymans terms. No fluff, no mental gymnastics, no causes or agendas.
Can't wait to hear your next breakdown. My theory is the recent US aid package included massive bribes, which years ago would have been scoffed at, but are now very tempting. Enough outside money is causing cracks to form. Is Putin cleaning house, or is his support being wittled away? If anything, huge bribes will cause paranoia and backstabbing in Moscow.
Please stay safe K! You're getting popular and you tell it straight, they don't like that.
One economic “nuke” that almost seemed like it might be used against Russia earlier in the conflict, was to organize global support for the emigration (and employment) of all draft-eligible Russians. Can only wonder how that might have turned out.
Very good and important stream K.! Thank you for your very interesting analyses on the ‘under the rug fights’ of the russian elite bulldogs. Get well soon ❤
In Britain we say "air your dirty laundry in public".
Information like this by someone in the know is invaluable. We all benefit from your knowledge and insights. Please keep making videos.
Looking at the state of the Oligarchs we can see the state of Russia. During the 2014 invasion about a 1000 banks (from memory, i could be wrong) existed headed by several oligarchs each. To pay for the invasion and to clean up dissenting factions this was reduced to 400 banks. That also meant the wealth was spread among fewer hungry mouths.
Putin cleaning up further is partly to feed the current oligarchs hunger, but it's also a warning to them to stay silent. Yes, there is instability, but it is more manageable at the moment i believe. Caveat is that the remaining oligarchs have more to lose and have more monetary power. There is definitely a risk there.
Fewer pillars means greater instability with each one that crumbles. And the ones that remain have seen their numbers dwindle - fear makes people irrational.
It can last for decades. Look at sadan party cleanse, iraq went bust but sadam regime still holded till usa invasion.
Some regimes are so entrenched that they last even if a single pillar is holding it.
@@puraLusaor no pillars at all…
Your analysis of Moscow's power structures is impressive.
For some time since the start of the Russian attack on Ukraine, I have been certain that Russia is facing a terrible civil war. And I´m also sure that NATO will do everything in its power to prevent this civil war as much as possible or at least not to let it degenerate into total chaos so as not to let the Russian nukes fall into some crazy people's hands and not to let Siberia and the Far East fall completely into Red Chinas hands. And to prevent as much as possible a huge wave of refugees from Russia to Europe.
No one is crazier than Putin himself or worse.
@@Kas-d5b
Have you listened to Medvedev?? I think not. One thing about men.. the more vertically challenged the greater the ferocity.
NATO will do *what* exactly to prevent it? Stern statements? Aid convoys?
It doesn't have the tools nor the expertise nor the risk-taking attitude to do anything about Russian affairs should they go off the rails.
Excellent observation, and analysis, well spoken,! 🇺🇦🩵
I don’t think the west will do anything to stop China taking what they want from the Russian Far East. A nice small Russian republic that runs from St Petersburg in the north to Moscow in the south. And will eventually join the EU. Everything else is independent or owned by the Chinese.
Definitely agree with K , Humpty Dumpty gonna fall off that wall sooner or later.
Your analysis seems spot on. I sincerely hope that you're right. We will stay tuned to your commentary.
All right, my opinion: Back when I was draft age, I remember reading about a border war between Russia and China over an island. After Viet Nam, China fought a border war with Vietnam and lost badly. My takeaway was that all international relations are transitory, transactional and based on self-interest. Only self-interest. Russia is the last of the colonial empires. They peaked in land area when the Tsar sold Alaska. That transaction was a short-term gain for a long-term loss. In business, when companies (or empires) start to emphasis margins over market share they have begun their decline. The Soviet Union was a brief resurgence in the context of a colonial empire in decline. Putin's Russia is an even more anemic resurgence that is attempting to, not just arrest, but reverse a decline that began with the sale of Alaska. In 1471 when the Principality of Moscow threw off its vassalage to the Mongols and began its eastward expansion - Russian culture (particularly military culture) absorbed much of the Mongol's instinct for ruthlessness and disregard for the fate of the individual, and in particular, the individual soldier. There is no upward boundary, to the level of historical absurdity, of the largest post empire country in the world, in decline, initiating a war of expansion, with an economy built on a mish-mash of corrupted Marx and Adams theories, a military patterned on "shock and awe" but resigned to attritional warfare - all the while "allied" to a country that has designs on their eastern territories... So, my opinion is that China will turn everything east of the Urals into vassal states and people will be lining up to spit on Putin's grave - if it can found.
Your analysis seems pretty accurate to me. Just like the Bolsheviks. There's a long history of intrigue and power plays and brutal oppression. Animal Farm.
