I'm old enough to remember the raids on the Iraq and Syria nuclear reactors. The 70s and 80s were harrowing decades with respect to the Middle East. Every time you turned around, there were terrorist attacks and stories like this one.

I also hope Iran fails in that regard, but all ignorance is evil, not just the ignorance of the Iranian leadership. I believe that anyone who opposes something or someone could better exercise the right to disapprove by learning about the subject. In this case, I feel that we should learn how Iran is run, read the Holy Qur'an, study foreign cultures, and know the names of the adversaries in Iran whom we hope will not succeed. Knowledge is power. There are women who would not be impressed because I know those kinds of things, women who are not eager to find out things like that for themselves. I don't understand why not, but fine. I probably would not have been attracted to them.

Wow I’m amazed watching this video about Israel an its forces
As a Syrian who witnessed these events firsthand, I remember the intense anger I felt upon hearing rumors that Israel had destroyed what we believed to be our future nuclear reactor. At the time, Syria was suffering from electricity and fuel shortages, driving up the cost of everyday essentials. Many of us, perhaps naively, believed the reactor was intended to meet our nation’s energy needs.
However, knowing now that its true purpose was to develop nuclear weapons, and after witnessing Assad’s horrific use of chemical weapons against his own people, I find myself thankful for Israel’s action. There is no doubt that this operation saved hundreds of thousands of Syrian lives.

Genuine question: Why is building a nuclear reactor considered as nuclear-weapons level threat? I am aware that the enriched materials that are used for reactors can also be weapons-grade but why consider a nuclear power facility a security threat?

As I read it, there are 2 ways of enriching weapons grade uranium, enriching by products of a spent nuclear power plant fuel or creating it thru a dedicated uranium enrichment plant. The latter is probably what Syria is planning hence this is an undisclosed and illegal facility. The former is the guise of Iran right now, nuclear technology for power production but in essence they want to enrich the spent fuel to build a bomb.
