    Excellent operation and documentary. I had no idea this happened ant t was in my 30's at the time. Very well done Peru. They took their time, planned it meticulously and executed it very well. Bravo all round. The only flaw were the stupid "journalists" revealing the tunnel digging, putting everyone's lives at risk for their own careers, arrogant bastards all of them, hate the lot of'em.

    I cannot understand how the MRTA terrorists sat inside, week after week and month after month, without forcing the Peruvian government to their demands. How long were the terrorists prepared to do nothing? 😅

      The MRTA terrorists knew that if they murdered the main hostages, they would lose their main negotiating asset with the Peruvian government, which would lead to an immediate military operation.

    let's not make the mistake of calling them "rebels". They were terrorist, genocides, a-holes. You can never negotiate with terrorists, they are extremists. This is a piece of Peruvian History that should be printed in the history books used in schools.

    Cerpa launched this attack in part because he wanted his girlfriend to be let out of prison.
    Some of the MRTA surrendered. Regardless, they were summarily executed. I believe those who kill prisoners or order the killing of prisoners only disfigure their souls and make it more likely that prisoners from their own side will be killed.

    • @colinluckens9591
      @colinluckens9591 Месяц назад

      The MRTA all signed their death warrant when they took innocent people captive and threatened to kill them. NO ONE WAS FORCING THEM to take part in such an action....
