Having owned the 35f1.2 and the 23f1.2, I can say that the character and build is worth the hype and price. I bought the Mitakon 35f0.95 and it felt like a load of heavy garbage. The focus throw on Voigtlander glass is like watching a smooth second hand on an expensive watch; Buttery.
Haven't tried Mitakon, but I'm really satisfied with 35mm f/1.2 even after having XF35mm f/1.4 for a long time, so much character and oily bokeh, nice colors, sunstars and artistic flares wide open. Looks and feels great.
Lovely review! Thanks for making and sharing! You've really been doing good work covering this Voigtlander lenses! Information in english on these is sorely missing! Isn’t the Voigtlander 35mm 0.9 despite costing a bit, still about half the price of the Ibelux 40mm 0.85? (At least the mk 2 and 3 with updated optics).
@@torb-no Not anymore I don't think. I got my III Ibelux half price a year or more ago, paid about $1500AUD for it.
