Personally I think Amped 2 was the best and had the strongest 2000s feel with its mix of electronic and midwest emo in its soundtrack. The entire Amped series is underrated as hell though, its cool to see someone talking about it!
I remember playing this relentlessly for about a week.. Strange how Amped3 took a page out of Tony Hawk's Underground/American Wasteland which the same crowd loved so much but no one batted an eye at this.
It's definitely an underrated gem of a game. I really do believe that the changing of the controls scheme off set the fans, despite it being a launch title for the X360. Unfortunate, but at least the game exists for future players who are curious.
If you liked Amped 3 and you still haven't tried the SSX series, it'd be interesting to hear your take on SSX On Tour. I feel like it's a more apt comparison given the release dates (both were released in 2005) and simply because of how similar in style they are. Amped 3's presentation is a bit more experimental and aggressive with how much it is a product of its time but On Tour definitely hits the same spot and reflects the very specific culture of the time. As a side note, both games have amazing soundtracks.
I picked up this game many years ago on the cheap under $10. Finally got around to it after getting a new working 360. Game is really fun and does hold up today despite the aged graphics. Kind of a shame the game is locked to only the 360 due to no bc for the series consoles and Xenia can't run the game well enough yet.
As far as I know, currently Amped 3 can only be played on an Xbox 360. This is due to licensing and copyright webs involving music, professional snow athletes, brands, etc.
One thing you didn't mention is: IT HAS THE BEST SOUNDTRACK IN GAMING EVER. The playlist. I love it.
Agreed. Love how Underoath and Emery were both in this game

Your videos are so underrated! This was a huge throwback to my childhood
Huge shame this game sold so poorly and led to amped 4s cancellation
This video needs more views, love how you described this game cause I've played Amped 1 and a broken copy of Amped 3 I've never played.
Great video, we need more games like this!

WTF that's a saints row 3 before saints row 3 intro
Absolutely love the amped series. I really want it to comeback. And I hate that Microsoft treats it as it doesn’t exists
Why isn't on Backwards Compat...
I can’t understand why they don’t make this and 1080 anymore 💔
