DO NOT(!) try to install on MagPul synthetic stocks! It will destroy your stock. The Loctite they use seems like it’s welded, it’s WAY stronger than polymer. I ruined a $150 MagPul Scout stock that’s going into the trash. Surefire is going for metal AR’s here - do not make my mistake.
Those adjustable mounts are so nice for getting the light to fit up nice and compact with the rail. Especially if you’ve got a dbal or peq at the 12oclock position.
I love the fact that the mini takes just a single cr123, and I also think that the lower lumens is probably better suited for indoors at night. I'm torn between the mini and full size scout, partly because the price is the same.
I have a grey handheld NRA edition one (has a pretty neat looking NRA laser engraved patriotic style logo) that is squared around the middle area of the flashlight to make it easier to hold while holding your handgun at the ready and has a button that I can press and depress to turn it on or I can rotate the flashlight a few times and it will stay on. I use a lanyard strap thing I made out of black cord so if my hand is struck or whatever I won't drop the light. They are very nice and it has performed for at least eight years for me and looks and works good as new. I keep it in my pocket in an Adidas canvas type phone case from my old backpack that works perfect to protect it in there or if I want to I can slide it on my black garrison belt I bought as a teen and keep it that way if I want to avoid making an imprint in my clothing. At night I keep it near where I sleep. I also have a clear black waterproof battery holder (lithium batteries when wet can become an explosion hazard) that seals and is kinda round with a lanyard type strap they sell that works good and carries an extra "lamp" (bulb). It is waterproof and I have never dropped it, but it is supposed to be safe to drop and having the extra lamp doesn't hurt. I also have the strongest available Sabre brand flashlight/stungun for a backup light or if I need to repair my Surefire or change batteries. Something I never try to leave at home is definitely my waterproof King James Bible by Bardin and Marcee publishers (floats too). Never leave home without it and hide God's word in your heart :) Jesus saves!

I got the olight Odin and it finally shipped after two weeks. I was going to mount it on my 10.5” set up but damn the things just too big for a small sized rifle. I was pretty damn disappointed. Also didn’t like how far off the bore the light sits. It just doesn’t look or feel natural.
Glad to see you reviewing a real weaponlight for once instead of those garbage Olights. I've destroyed a LOT of lights as a civilian and in the Army, and I would never trust my life to anything other than Surefire.
@@MushroomStampGalactica I’m not sure why this person thinks that being prior law enforcement means something as far as gear goes. LE gear isn’t exactly hard use and the biggest threat to a cops gear is losing it or another cop stealing it haha.
I wish I had known the difference between the Scout Light Pro and the Dual Fuel before I bought the Scout Light Pro. I would much rather use my 18650 batteries. I'm hoping I like it either way.
Heads up on the DF models.... I purchased 2 640DF lights and neither worked correctly. Had flickering and dimming under recoil. One of the lights had a weird pulsing while just holding the switch. I sent them to SF and they came back still not working. SF support said they actually recommend the 640U over the DF and the DF's have been notoriously inconsistent. SF support has been great and they are working with me to resolve the issue.
I just sent my m600df in yesterday for those same reason. The customer service was great, they told me they have tweaked a few things with how the body is shaped and a pin connector inside the head. He stated this was a very recent change and they are working on replacing/fixing peoples with the same issue. Another very reassuring thing the tech said was they would be willing to replace the light with any of the lights they offer at the same price point.
Excellent video I really want to make Japanese version of this video. May I use this video to create Japanese version? I will put a link to your channel on those videos. I think you will also be able to get more Japanese viewers who can understand English like me.
Let’s be real, the scout lights just aren’t worth the money and don’t perform to the level of cloud defensive and modlite weapon mounted lights. The output is terrible and about on par with the streamlight hlx which is a $100 light and considered to be duty grade. If you’re gonna spend the money it costs to set your rifle up with a high end light, you’re a sucker for not buying the cloud defensive rein or one of the modlites. Surefire needs to step their game up
I can't afford scout light but I can afford an O Light. I now they don't have the reputation of Scout light but give them a few more years and they will be right there with the best.
@@StrideResearch i found one obscure article and some people talking about it on forums, but that was it. Also, from what it says, the problem was a cheap Nuon 18650. I really like your information and videos, excellent!!! But LED tactile flashlights are a total rip off. A water/shock/proof little flash light that costs $200 or $300 bucks, well that is insane. I am not picking on Surefire, I have seen other brands that expensive as well. I can buy a darn good used gun for $300 or a descent quality rifle scope for such a price. Can I trust the Amazon ones to not be knockoffs?
No
Where can I get one the Scout Pro
Is the head on the mini scout bigger or the same size as the other ones?
Not really sure about hell and back. You should watch a couple surefire torture tests. They caompare all different lights and the surefire dies first

For sure they are getting outdated by the newer lights.
@Dr. Pho Science, MD I’m pretty sure you’ll get way more tacticool IG clout with modlite stuff these days
Wish they had an option for self adjusting brightness. 1500 lumens is a bit much if you have this on a home defense gun.
Negative. It’s not a concentrated beam. 1500 lumens is perfect for HD
I’m pretty sure you only get 1500 with 18650s. I think the max output is 1000 if you use cr123s. Just another option if you want to go that route
Practice with it. You won't regret 1500 lumen.
