    No one mentions the Mediterranean diet. It’s one of the healthiest diets for you.
    So many choices and variations of food it’s awesome. I’ve been eating this way for about 3 years but everytime I stop and start eating stuff like chili and fall comfort foods and bam then weight started coming back so I quickly started back. Plus getting exercise is so important especially as we age.

    • @softsophisticate
      @softsophisticate Месяц назад +2

      When eating chilli, do you think it is because you eat a lot of rice with it? Fall Foods - are you eating a lot more pastry? Is it an increase in carbs? Do you eat less carbs on the MD and different types such as a few potatoes and a small amount of bread?

    • @BrookeC1971
      @BrookeC1971 Месяц назад +6

      @
      I think it’s because the foods are so heavy. Lots of calories. I do eat rice but it’s usually with veggies and clean meats. Fall foods are just so filling and heavy. Sauces and creams are a big nono. I’m 5’4 and 120 lbs but if I eat say chili with cheeee for two days then eat stew or a casserole a few days I will gain about 3 lbs. that’s just my body. But I can eat Mediterranean food twice a day and a fruit and some nuts for a snack and not gain any. Plus I think it’s all the added salts in the fall foods or any foods for that matter if they are not freshly prepared.
      Mediterranean is clean healthy eating.
      I do eat chicken and fish and lean grass fed beef. I also think moving your body everyday is key to a healthy lifestyle!

    • @tpkyterooluebeck9224
      @tpkyterooluebeck9224 Месяц назад +5

      @@softsophisticate It depends on how that chili is made. If you buy it premade, it will contain added sugars. If you instead take fresh tomatoes and puree them, then add your own seasoning and legumes, then its not heavy and should not make you gain weight. However, there is one caveat. If you do not have the means to break down legumes in your body, then you can bloat from eating legumes. Sometimes, in some people, food intolerances can make you gain weight.

      Except for the plant protein bit, and that meat causes arthritis. Many, many people (mikhaila Peterson and Rebekah Heishman are two that come to mind) have gone on carnivore to get rid of arthritis completely. In fact, Mikhaila had such severe RA, she had to have a hip and ankle replacement in her teens. It wasn’t until she eliminated all carbs, including vegetables, that she was able to heal and reverse all symptoms.
      Plant protein is the worst thing you can do. It’s not bioavailable, like animal protein and the anti-nutrients in plants can really be a problem.

    • @IsabelLutz

      @@maybeme94 The problem is that you can't stay on a keto diet for years on end. Once you start eating carbs again, you put on weight. They never ate breakfast, because they woke up before sunrise with the animals.Their first meal of the day was between 10:30 am and noon. It was leftovers from last day's supper. In all fairness, I've never met a farmer who ate "substantial breakfast". By breakfast time they have worked half a shift already. Who can be hungry at 4-5am anyway?

      I've never heard of any meal being referred to as 'tea' in Australia. I have heard English people referring to 'tea' as a meal many, many, many times in TV shows and movies. By contrast to the fiction of 'Tim' growing up we had meals called 'breakfast', 'lunch' and 'dinner'. Dinner at our house included a 'singular' modest home-made (by mum) dessert. At school we had 'morning tea' about 10AM. Mine always consisted of fruit (that annoyed me no end) whilst my friends might get a donut or muffin or muesli bar. But I have to say I've never seen in my many decades a meal consisting of multiple sweets. In fact, most of my friends (all whose parents were very 'comfortable') didn't even get dessert on a week night.
      I'm only throwing this comment in, as whatever is in that book 'Tim' about Australian's eating habits, seems to me to be specific to the fictional story, which means it is literally pure fiction.

I figure in 9 months I will have lost most all of the fat I have been carrying for the last thirty years. I really craved bread at first but I just realized I haven’t been eating it at all lately. It’s in my fridge, but no cravings for it or most of the things I ate all the time.

      Try 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar (with the "mother") in cup of water 20 minutes (or with) before your meal. This will increase acid in your stomach which gets weaker as we age and is important for digesting protein. There are also specific enzymes for fats, carbs, and protein and you can Google for that.

    • @IsabelLutz
      @IsabelLutz Месяц назад

      Beans, peas and lentils are high in protein. You do not feel hungry afterwards. Check for the grains to go with to get all the essential amino acids. Use herbs and spices but only little salt. Here we say "don't eat what your grandparents didn't know". Be careful with too much dairy products. A little cheese, butter, milk is quite enough. If you want enzymes try a little pineapple (fresh - not out of a can). Pineapple juice from fresh pineapples is known to make meat tender. I wouldn't buy anything from the internet without medical advice because of pestizides and overdose of vitamins which can be dangerous for your liver.

      Same here. Tried keto/Atkins many times. Any carbs at all and I just stall. I did Dr. Ken Berry's beef, bacon, butter & eggs diet for three months, going OMAD, and dropped 50 lbs of pure fat.
      2177 calories: 1 lb 73% ground beef, brown and drain. While draining, melt 4 tbsp butter, toss in 2 oz bacon that's been pre-cooked to chewy (cooked to crispy it would burn). After a minute or so, add the beef back in, turn eye up to high for a couple minutes. Scramble 4 large eggs, pour them over the beef, mix with a red silicone spatula. Turn the eye off after about 30 seconds or so; that way, the scrambled eggs don't brown. Pour it into a big bowl and eat. I also did a protein shake, with 25g protein. That gave me 160g fat and 165g protein; my target weight is 165.
      I did it that way because, in the beginning, the beef fat was too heavy for me. Now, I do 3/4 lb of 80% ground beef, I don't drain, and I add 2 tbsp of the bacon grease from my bacon instead of the butter. It cut the calories by about 100 or so. But my body is stubborn AF and it eventually adapted and hit a plateau, so I took a couple months off, focusing on not gaining any weight back. After the holidays, I'm going to do another 3 months.

      Coconut products: Full-fat coconut milk, coconut cream, unsweetened coconut.
      Oils: Olive oil, nut oil, coconut oil, MCT oil, avocado oil.
      Nuts and seeds: Almonds, Brazil nuts, walnuts, hemp seeds, chia seeds, macadamia nuts, pumpkin seeds, peanut butter, almond butter, sunflower butter, cashew butter.
      Non-starchy vegetables: Leafy greens, Brussels sprouts, zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, mushrooms.
      Vegan protein sources: Full-fat tofu, tempeh.
      Vegan full-fat “dairy”: Coconut yogurt, vegan butter, cashew cheese, vegan cream cheese.
      Avocados: Whole avocados, guacamole.
      Berries: Blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries can be enjoyed in moderation.
      Condiments: Nutritional yeast, fresh herbs, lemon juice, salt, pepper, spices.
      Though the keto diet cuts out many food groups that vegans rely on, such as whole grains and starchy vegetables, a vegan keto diet can be followed with careful planning. Get calories from whole, unprocessed foods while avoiding highly processed vegan foods.

      The science that backs Carnivore you will find via youtube channels such as Dr Shawn Baker, or KenBerryMD... and there are plenty more Doctors' channels plus others who can share the scientific reasoning behind why Carnivore works to cure inflammation diseases like arthritis and other auto-immune conditions. Including curing MS, which is supposedly 'incurable'.
      I only persist because I have felt such great results doing Carnivore, I want that relief for others too.

Perhaps more importantly, she's a 'naturopath' with no medical qualifications and some ridiculous ideas - cancer is a fungus that can be cured by consuming bicarbonate of soda.
