      Except for the plant protein bit, and that meat causes arthritis. Many, many people (mikhaila Peterson and Rebekah Heishman are two that come to mind) have gone on carnivore to get rid of arthritis completely. In fact, Mikhaila had such severe RA, she had to have a hip and ankle replacement in her teens. It wasn’t until she eliminated all carbs, including vegetables, that she was able to heal and reverse all symptoms.
      Plant protein is the worst thing you can do. It’s not bioavailable, like animal protein and the anti-nutrients in plants can really be a problem.

    • @IsabelLutz
      @IsabelLutz День назад

      @@maybeme94 The problem is that you can't stay on a keto diet for years on end. Once you start eating carbs again, you put on weight. A well balanced diet with 500 gr of vegetables a day makes more sense. You will get rid of too much weight slowly which is better because your skin can adapt to your weight loss.

    I recall watching (and later reading Colleen McCullough’s book), Tim. I was horrified by Australian “tea”, during which large portions of 2-3 different types of sweets were consumed at one sitting. In America we probably eat as much, but spread out over the day.
    A year ago, I gave up my favorite sweets, such as banana-nut bread, blueberry muffins, chocolate croissants, and cookies.
    Unfortunately I have not lost any weight, and my stomach keeps getting bigger. I’m not a snacker, prefer 2-3 meals per day.

    • @jsi4064
      @jsi4064 2 дня назад +4

      I've never heard of any meal being referred to as 'tea' in Australia. I have heard English people referring to 'tea' as a meal many, many, many times in TV shows and movies. By contrast to the fiction of 'Tim' growing up we had meals called 'breakfast', 'lunch' and 'dinner'. Dinner at our house included a 'singular' modest home-made (by mum) dessert. At school we had 'morning tea' about 10AM. Mine always consisted of fruit (that annoyed me no end) whilst my friends might get a donut or muffin or muesli bar. But I have to say I've never seen in my many decades a meal consisting of multiple sweets. In fact, most of my friends (all whose parents were very 'comfortable') didn't even get dessert on a week night.
      I'm only throwing this comment in, as whatever is in that book 'Tim' about Australian's eating habits, seems to me to be specific to the fictional story, which means it is literally pure fiction.

      Same here. Tried keto/Atkins many times. Any carbs at all and I just stall. I did Dr. Ken Berry's beef, bacon, butter & eggs diet for three months, going OMAD, and dropped 50 lbs of pure fat.
      2177 calories: 1 lb 73% ground beef, brown and drain. While draining, melt 4 tbsp butter, toss in 2 oz bacon that's been pre-cooked to chewy (cooked to crispy it would burn). After a minute or so, add the beef back in, turn eye up to high for a couple minutes. Scramble 4 large eggs, pour them over the beef, mix with a red silicone spatula. Turn the eye off after about 30 seconds or so; that way, the scrambled eggs don't brown. Pour it into a big bowl and eat. I also did a protein shake, with 25g protein. That gave me 160g fat and 165g protein; my target weight is 165.
      I did it that way because, in the beginning, the beef fat was too heavy for me. Now, I do 3/4 lb of 80% ground beef, I don't drain, and I add 2 tbsp of the bacon grease from my bacon instead of the butter. It cut the calories by about 100 or so. But my body is stubborn AF and it eventually adapted and hit a plateau, so I took a couple months off, focusing on not gaining any weight back. After the holidays, I'm going to do another 3 months.

      Try 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar (with the "mother") in cup of water 20 minutes (or with) before your meal. This will increase acid in your stomach which gets weaker as we age and is important for digesting protein. There are also specific enzymes for fats, carbs, and protein and you can Google for that.

    • @IsabelLutz
      @IsabelLutz 2 дня назад

      Beans, peas and lentils are high in protein. You do not feel hungry afterwards. Check for the grains to go with to get all the essential amino acids. Use herbs and spices but only little salt. Here we say "don't eat what your grandparents didn't know". Be careful with too much dairy products. A little cheese, butter, milk is quite enough. If you want enzymes try a little pineapple (fresh - not out of a can). Pineapple juice from fresh pineapples is known to make meat tender. I wouldn't buy anything from the internet without medical advice because of pestizides and overdose of vitamins which can be dangerous for your liver.

      Oils: Olive oil, nut oil, coconut oil, MCT oil, avocado oil.
      Nuts and seeds: Almonds, Brazil nuts, walnuts, hemp seeds, chia seeds, macadamia nuts, pumpkin seeds, peanut butter, almond butter, sunflower butter, cashew butter.
      Non-starchy vegetables: Leafy greens, Brussels sprouts, zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, mushrooms.
      Vegan protein sources: Full-fat tofu, tempeh.
      Vegan full-fat “dairy”: Coconut yogurt, vegan butter, cashew cheese, vegan cream cheese.
      Avocados: Whole avocados, guacamole.
      Berries: Blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries can be enjoyed in moderation.
      Condiments: Nutritional yeast, fresh herbs, lemon juice, salt, pepper, spices.
      Though the keto diet cuts out many food groups that vegans rely on, such as whole grains and starchy vegetables, a vegan keto diet can be followed with careful planning. Get calories from whole, unprocessed foods while avoiding highly processed vegan foods.

Check with pubmed for omega-6/omega-3 ratio because of cardiovascular disease, cancer, inflammatory and autoimmune disease linked to too much omega-6.

    I have to stop watching because many health gurus/nutritionists miss one big unexplainable outlier....the fat kid....who eats the same as the skinny kid.
    There are kids who eat the pizza, the chips, candy, soda, bread, fries, junk food and NEVER gain weight But the fat kid that has been on a permadiet from 11 years old.....who rarely touched all those junkie things until Christmas.... continued to gain and gain and gain.
    I was brought to an internist who ran test after test (except hormone testing) and sat me down and said you are going to hate me after this consult. "Your metabolism is not working. You see I eat a great deal but my metabolism just burns it off. But you, you will have to learn yo eat 5 small meals a day. And then you will have to make those meals incredibly vegetable dense. I know that it is annoying and unfair, but your metabism is sluggish".
    He was right, those words were annoying and very difficult to do long term and could not work because of the natural body hormone called Insulin. Insulin is a police officer hormone that chases down high blood glucose and throws it into fat cell jail. The more frequent you eat....small or big meals, the more insulin police and the bigger the fat cells get as they store this glucose energy for later use.

      They also didn’t have vehicles and other modern conveniences. People had to do more physical labor to put a simple meal on the table. Wash cloths by hand, etc. They were more active.

    I bought your book, Dr. Barbara natural remedies encyclopedia. Whilst surfing the internet I was very surprised to see a picture of your daughter who looks very plump imo. She obviously does not follow your advice yet profits from the business. imo

      @@teresamuriniti5026 It's the fact that she's misleading people with the picture she posts on the video. No one loses that much weight in six weeks--nor is it healthy--and if this is what she's leading people to believe, it's just wrong. This caused me to look up more about her and what I found was disturbing. Also, in another video it says she's a Dr., but this is doubtful. I would just be cautious about her videos overall.

      Ummmmm she is mentioning the same as millions of other channels speak of and things Im familiar with from my own nutrition past. Their are many other actual docs that have been banned or punished for telling the truth. You narrowed and blind sided your thoughts on this instead of the picture that's right in your face.

      Just because she isn’t part of big pharma doesn’t mean she’s wrong.
