I am 44 and I got diabetes. My A1C was 6.9. I went to our primary doctor and asked if I can do lifestyle changes. He said no. It’s impossible to do lifestyle change and prescribe me Statin and Ozempic.
I decided to go to hollistic doctor. I learned that my sleeping habit is the primary cause of my diabetes as I am not getting enough sleep.
My holistic doctor checked my cellular activity and found I am an active person with over weight problem. I do martial arts twice a week and hike every weekend. Walk a minimum 1 mile everyday. Despite that I am diabetic.
Turn out it is the stress and lack of sleep. She also recommended me to do jump ropes at least half hour a day to promote lymphatic drainage.
So I did what I was told.
I lost 20 lbs without even trying. And I now will stop wheat like this video suggested. I always have a beer belly whole my life despite the exercises I do. This is the first time my belly shrinks without trying.
My doctor said I cannot reverse diabetes. But he also said lifestyle change cannot cure diabetes.
I am hoping to prove him wrong.

As a healthcare provider, I can assure you that lifestyle changes can reverse Type 2 diabetes. Your doctor knows that but is probably frustrated by seeing so many patients that will not make the changes. My guess is that he is jaded and feels like explaining the changes that need to be made is a waste of his time. Part of that is the current "sick"care model. Prove him wrong, and maybe it will encourage him to spend the time with other patients. You could be his example of a sucess.

I agree 100% about being your own doctor. I could almost write a book on the meds doctors gave me that nearly had me in the ER. I have been on 3 different blood pressure meds each gave me horrific bad side effects. When I told my doctor this she gave me an odd look and told me it couldn't have been the blood pressure meds! Once I quit taking the medication I never got the awful pain in my bowels again nor the diarrhea or the extreme weakness and shaking all over in nearly passing out. my face turning ghost white. I honestly felt like I was dying. I never went back to her. Instead I went on Intermittent dieting took up walking and lost 26 pounds in 18 mo. My blood pressure is now at a healthy level. I listened to my body and I am so glad I did.

I was on the verge of having a breakdown, eaten bread, cravings every day etc, I went to my GP this AM, I came out crying because he patronised me, told me I wasn't looking after myself, not looking after my diabetes. I have never really been outspoken but today I gave it all I got, the GP was taken back but I wanted him to understand that I felt so much mental pain. He then proceeded on to say that I need a counsellor.
I have got through the rest of the day, I came home and searched to see for this particular subject, I am so surprised and also grateful to be saved from the years of pain ❤

Hello, according to the doctor, I have prediabetes and he gave me medicine and then an injection and that was doing me more harm. I decided not to take anything and take care of my diet and exercise more and not use wheat or white flour. and today I use quinoa as flour, I prepare it and I try not to use oils and I make my dressings for my salads. I use more garlic red onions. more chia and whole oats I'm not using cheese. I am a vegetarian and I can say that I feel much better without coffee. no sodas, no sweets and no desserts and I let my water stand with grenbeans. oh with lemon peels and I take a few grains of salt with water and thank GOD I feel better and when I listen to Mrs. Barbara I accept everything because I believe in my heart that GOD gave her the ability to understand natural medicine. Let's just not eat too many meals and avoid drinking water when we eat and eat fruits before eating.and more protein and green juice from home

After reading No Grain, No Pain by Dr Peter Osborne & giving up gluten products nearly ALL OF THE FIBROMYALGIA PAIN IS GONE! So, I am able to wean off all pain meds and will work on BP meds next as I will have my bloodwork checked in a few weeks... fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Went from a 10 and about to start insulin to 6.5 I’m a steady prediabetic. My Dr said the mushrooms reduce inflammation which help my blood sugar stay low. I also follow low sugar low carb diet and walk everyday day even in winter and gym 2x week strength training. I have a dr who uses mushrooms personally, makes tinctures, and grows them. He helped put a family member into remission from cancer. Mushrooms are a real thing. Eat them too. I am a forager. Lots of us in the woods for different reasons.

My A1C was 6.1 and the only thing I changed was I changed from white flour and store bought whole wheat to bread I make my own. My A1C is now 5.7. The rest of my diet stayed the same. What caused the difference? I use flour I ground myself. I don’t sift out any of the bran/fiber. I don’t add white flour to it and I only eat one slice a day. I need the bread with fiber for my digestive system. I disagree with her wheat analysis. I believe she is correct if you are eating STORE bought wheat. Even whole wheat products at the store mix in white flour so they get a prettier loaf and not so dense. I love my dense loaf. I also make sure if I eat a slice, I always eat it with a protein and never alone.

And my glucose level spikes less when I eat the slice with protein.

I've learned that most, if not all beans/legumes are not a complete protein. I add either, hemp seeds, nutritional yeast without candida albicans and several other options.
Some people add rice but this isn't the best chose with diabetes or other blood sugar issues. Brown rice digest slower than white in most cases. Rice can be high in cyanide.
I want to get the most nutrients from eating these legumes therefore a make them a complete protein.
A word of cautions with those with Leaky Gut. I'm 95% healed from it. A word of caution: ⚠️
Legumes and rice contain a lectins and can further damage the small intestines.
I eat a lectin free diet most often.

I cannot eat a lot of beans or lentils. I wish I could but my stomach cannot handle the lectin. After getting an h pylori infection in 2017 which caused several other parasite infections thereafter, I am not able to handle legumes and beans. I was finally able to stop the parasite issues and my digestion is now consistently much better but it’s not the same. Before, I could eat legumes and beans without issue and reaped the benefits talked about here, but unfortunately not today. Now, a Whole Food diet and regular exercise does seem to be working for me. I still need some animal protein to keep my hormones balanced.
Whenever I eliminate animal protein altogether, I have major hormonal imbalance issues. I just don’t think everyone can be on the exact same diet in today’s world.

Hello Dr. O'Neill. How are you doing today? We are asking this on behalf of a very good friend of ours, an 86 yo Male prostate cancer individual. Despite the cancer being under control he has experienced significant weight loss and can't seem to get it back on despite consultations with numerous doctors at home and abroad. Can you suggest what could be the probable cause/s for this difficulty and what might be some solutions for our friend to get his weight back up? Alternatively, you may wish to direct us to one of your previous videos where you would've dealt with this situation/condition. Currently, he's trying QTEH Therapy. Thanks for you continued fearless good work that educates us about our bodies and general health and wellbeing. More so the tips and remedies you provide to us so that we can enjoy a high quality of life. Thanks again.

So I am off my glipizide. I am still taking metformin, but I did eliminate all wheat products I’ve lost almost 15 pounds. I also eat in the morning only when I’m hungry and it’s usually something like a shake that I make in the blender myself with organic fruits and vegetables, or it’s a plain yogurt that I add organic fruit to I have another meal usually around 3 PM and I try and stick to the proteins and very little carbohydrates at all if I do potatoes I make sure that they have been refrigerated or frozen because I have also found that that cuts the glycemic index on them almost in halfand my A1c was 6.6, I added the Celtic salt to my water, and I upped my water intake got rid of table salt completely

My husband has type 2 diabetes, I have him off bread for 2 mo. he doesn't like sugar anything so that's not a problem. He is insulin resistant he has a large stomach because of that. For the past 2 yrs, he only eats organic egg whites for breakfast with onions and doesn't eat again till 6;30 Pm for dinner when he gets home. He has tried to get exercise by walking on the treadmill but paid highly for it due to the neuropathy in his feet. Both feet are swollen I am out of ideas to help him. I shop whole foods, organic as much as I can and he only eats good fats, real butter, olive oil, avocado oils, coconut oil. I have done a lot of research on what I can do to help him reverse it. Seems like nothing is working. No, he is not on meds anymore once the metformin no longer worked. If anything changing his eating habits may have prolonged his life but not reversed the diabetes as I have prayed it would.

I dropped my blood pressure in 5 weeks to normal by cutting sodium, the dash diet, 1500 mg/day. I am off blood pressure medicine for the first time in 8 years. She's wrong about needing to take salt. Also Himalayan and Celtic salt are no different, just a little bit less in sodium per serving because the grains are bigger. Check out Chef AJ's channel... Search Chef AJ and high blood pressure and a video with a doctor that's an expert in high blood pressure comes up.

Barbara, a diabetic can loose weight by eating keto with intermittent fasting as I did, but let me throw in…….if your T3 in your thyroid is too low, all the tea in China won’t allow your weight to drop off until this is fixed. The huge problem is when having Labs, our doctors see that the T3 is “ barely within normal range “ so this has them automatically tell folks that they don’t NEED their T3 raised. Et voil’a……they continue with massive amounts of weight sitting there, when it COULD have been taken care of ! I have been watching a doctor online who explains this and has good advice, but whether folks DO what he recommends is something we will have to see.

@@disnalee I think though the wheat seed is different in North America. I bake with organic whole flour and it is different. But you are so very right, cook for scratch is best. When I was a child it was catch the chicken to roast or boiled it later, so someone had to catch it, kill it and gut it for the dinner table. Usually me when I was a teenager. That is really starting from scratch! The best is to have a garden and if you have a farm, you can use your own wheat and rye from the fields.
