You know, for having a rebel faction about ready to launch a revolution, managing them doesn't seem to be that high on your priority list.

I think he means click bait for Shack's next video, "REVOLUTION IN SYSTEMS ALLIANCE" or something?

    Personal Log #1:
Never have i thought that the resistance from the Jehet would be so great. Granted they have been brought under the fold of the alliance by force, but they should understand that we are saviors, coming to them with new freedoms and opportunities. The Lady Protector just recently allowed all citizens, whether human or xeno, can vote. And they have opportunities to better their community through service, service guarantees citizenship. I hope this may throw water on the flames.
    Personal Log #2:
The Jehet are becoming more and more unstable. The Partisans recently lead a string of attacks across the sector. I fear rebellion is inevitable and i sent word to the Lady Protector for more forces to be stationed on the Jehet worlds. Now, i must sit and wait for the coming storm. I pray for the Jehet, i hope they see reason and avoid the military's retaliation.

Citizen "Scotty" reporting: Leadership is locked until you research the proper tech, sir. Also, we will still have to scan the planets we have conquered from the Dominion, as it appears they have destroyed or otherwise have made unavailable their native records in order to slow our progress. Leaving us with incomplete records of these systems.
(Basically, no, you do not get planet data by conquering planets for whatever reason.)

It's a heavy expenditure, but worth it and necessary. Suppress media, bribe leaders, and use the integration campaigns. If you expand too fast and ignore your existing conquests, you'll have that rebellion and maybe even a civil war which might be more expensive than just making the weird 'shroom people love you.

In order to defeat the other races, the Alliance will need unity, having riots and unpopular leadership will not work when you try to go on the offensive. Spend some time to lick your wounds and deal with domestic issues whilst repairing the outlook other factions have on you. That way, further down the line you can catch them by surprise with an incredibly strong fleet.

I believe you can only change Leadership policy, but it can only be changed if you get the research for it. Going to warn you now Shack, Evangelizing Zealots have a -100 relations to EVERYONE (except other Evangelizing Zealots it seems) as a default that never goes away, and they also seem to be stronger than normal empires.
For Assisted research, the states shown are the base amount given, however the higher level the scientist in the ship is the more research bonus you give to that world. For special projects, the situation log will tell you how long it will take. It shows this in the bottom right of the log.

Open further diplomatic relations with the Foundation and the Nharr Council! We need friends right now and a buffer against the Directorate, they are going to be trouble. If we are going to have another war in the near future, its going to be with them, and it will do to have some allies. So, how about a military alliance with the Foundation against the Cardassians?

    2240.09.20
    1821 Hours
    Sol 1-Earth
    Log #1
    Dante Seran
Alright, they're letting us make logs and call one person, so I'll try to make this brief.
I just graduated from high school when the war had ended. I wanted to join during my Junior year when I was 17, but my mother said that she didn't want to lose me like she lost father earlier in the war. He was a brave man, and I only wanted to follow in his footsteps. Thankfully, after I turned 18 and graduated, I signed myself up at the nearest Naval Recruitment Station. After having family and friends interviewed and questioned for days on end by the Recruit Evaluation Asset Regiment, I finally kissed my girlfriend goodbye and hugged my mother, I promised her that I'd make it through boot and return home when I got the chance to see her again. After such a tearful goodbye, I hopped onto the XP-661 shuttle and went to sleep, the flight to Fort Shack would take 8 hours, being in what was previously known as a "Germany". I was woken up the the crewmembers aboard the shuttle, me alongside the 61 other recruits would be arriving in only 10 "mikes"...whatever that meant. What felt like years were only minutes as we soon landed at a pad numbered 7, and the Senior Drill Instructor came aboard. After only a few seconds, he shouted out "YOU PUSSIFIED BAGS OF DICKS BETTER GET OFF THIS SHUTTLE AND GRAB YOUR SHIT AT THE SPEED OF MACH JESUS!". We quickly scrambled, I myself was slightly scared at how fierce the SDI seemed, he had a scar on his face from what looked like a fire, and I could see that he was an experienced solider. We only had 3 minutes to get our stuff and stand on a series of red footprints, our feet angled at 45°. I was holding my large pack in my arms, and a male behind me was holding a suitcase of all things...I felt sorry for him. A DI tore his ass up and threw his suitcase into the distance, his Exosuit powering his throw. "Stand at attention!", came the cry of a DI, and we all followed suit. "From now on, you are ALL equally worthless. Once you walk through THOSE doors, you will ALL treat everyone with the respect they deserve, and will NEVER be disrespectful to either a fellow RECRUIT, SOLDIER, OR CIVILIAN! MY NAME, is Praetorian Jackson Dodge, and I WILL, be your Senior DRILL INSTRUCTOR! Myself along side DECURION Harper Wilder and UHLAN Lepnotite Raz'Ik will ensure that MOST, IF NOT ALL recruits pass Bootcamp. If you DO FAIL TO COMPLY, with our rules, you WILL fail, for it is the CREED and HONOR of being a System Alliance NavaliQuod, that makes us ALL worthy of SERVING, AND FIGHTING FOR OUR PEOPLE! EVERYONE GET ON YOUR KNEES, AND LAY YOUR BAGS IN FRONT OF YOU!" As I fell to my knees and basically threw the pack down in front of me, I grinned mentally as I knew that if my father had gone through this, I could as well...I would do my nation, my parents, and my alliance proud!

  • @stormsquad8723
    @stormsquad8723 8 лет назад +4

Recovery and expanding are vital right now since you just conquered another species and need to bring them to a state of contentment living in your borders. A defense perimeter can come later if tensions between the two nations whom you are sharing a border with starts to boil over. Plus having just used your military might to conquer the dominion other races might take you putting up defense stations as preparation for another invasion since that's exactly what you did to the dominion a few days before beginning an all out assault. So to me recovery is in our best interests to stabilize your empire and let other empires lessen their worries about you invading them too. Though this is just my opinion and if you or anyone else disagrees that's completely understandable.😉😉😉
Anyway keep doing what you do Shack cause your content is awesome!😃

Yes, rather than bare our teeth, I think the best course of action is to foster alliances with the Foundation and Council. Rather than build up the military, again we focus on stability and prosperity.
Using the Foundation as a buffer zone against the clearly hostile Directorate spares us resources and gives us an advantage in the inevitable war.

Hey Captain Shack, I was wondering if you knew that there is Mod for Stellaris where you can add Mobile Infantry from Starship Trooper as some of your armies, along with Colonial Marines from Aliens.

That research bonus on the new scientist only applies to his field speciality. He field is in computing, the techs for which are only found in the Physics department. Currently your head of Physics has the Industrial specialisation, which boosts research rates on and increases the likelihood of power generation techs (for both ships and buildings). Switching them for the Computing specialist would boost the chance of advanced combat AI for ships coming up, and upgrades for physics labs. If the Industrial specialist was moved to Engineering it would increase the likely hood of robotics technology coming up in the pool, as well as upgrades for mineral production and engineering labs.
The specialisations have far more effect on the course your empire takes than people realise.

Hey bud, love your videos. Just so you know, the Star Trek mod for Stellaris is in Alpha and available on Steam. Phasers and Photons, starting up the Federation...good luck with that. My first play through had the Andorians creating 'The Righteous Pact'. I brought the Vulcans, and Tellarites into the Pact...and for a decade pushed for a Federation Formation. Shortly after bringing in the Bolorians the Andorians (sole species voting no for the Federation) voted to form a federation...and named it the Galactic Alliance. So that's how my game is going...

That colony ship is costing you 8 energy per month.. use it! The planet Serenity is a good choice... Or, if you have another planet in an already colonized system, it will not count against the number of SYSTEMS you can manage. (Yes, its 5 SYSTEMS, not Planets. They changed it in the big patch)

Miitary wise you're doing good, keep phasing Corvettes out with Destroyers(And god damn make a L&M weapon slotted destroyer class) until you've got 2 corvettes to 1 destroyer.
Science/Tech wise you should stop your assault on those Crystalline aliens and research them, they give the best early acquired endgame tech.

  • @Onibi369
    @Onibi369 8 лет назад

Make sure to babysit those 'bribe leaders' and 'suppress media' etc. options, you're only one step away from open rebellion, which is gonna suck in every possible aspect for the Alliance if you don't keep a tight lid on it.
As for The Question - I actually wanted a 'Infrastructure and Exploration in equal measure only' option, but oh well, voted for Infrastructure. As others mentioned, building up defensive stations may worsen other governments' opinion of you. The Saathid currently have a superior fleet power, but their naval capacity is actually equivalent, meaning you could feasibly build up a fleet to rival them if pressured anyway. Investing in your planets now can only help you, and may even improve relations both inside and out. Once you have your current colonies well-established, you can start consolidating them into an additional sector in order to either bring the Jehet back under direct control so you can focus on them, or begin Expansion to the Alliance's east.
    Good luck, Captain.

Just commenting to say I thoroughly enjoy the intro and the heavy amount of roleplay that's going on. Also, it's amusing me that he's left the 'Encourage Free Thought' policy active for so long. Wonder when he'll notice the massive amounts of ethos shifts that's causing.

I think you should have gone for a liberation war first and then either vasalise and integrate them peacefully or if they refuse to become vassals fight a second war to annex them. That makes sure your ethics are more integrated in the conquered population already. Although it makes most sence when your Ethos combination actually helps with integration (that is why Spirituals are likley the best warmogers). Whether you go for conquest or the diplomatic way with an Alliances and a Federation or conquest liberation wars make everything easier in Stellaris.
For Leadership you need a certain tech to allow Xenos Leadership position. But be aware that the primary species won't like you allowing foreigners to vote unless they are xenophil (-5% happyness for Xenophobes even more).

You can use Shift and click on the reseach project so it'll stack commands for your reseach ships, Cap'n! That way you can stack up system scan commands and then swing back for projects after! Although it's very annoying if the science ship runs into an enemy vessle, cos it overwrites it's commands and flees without remebreing where else it was meant to go x.x

The planet you where going to colonize was Vega cause it has three volcano's you can remove and setup power plants. Now what I'm going to suggest is really going to be push the Alliance's luck. Find three planets beyond Reach and make a second sector to guard that flank. plus a frontier base or two over in the direction of the Cardassians to keep them away from Earth.

How the colonization techs work is you can only colonize planets that are the same type as your first one(for example humans can only colonize continental worlds), even if you have other species who live in different types of planets and you actually NEED the tech to colonize worlds that aren't the same as your first, which sucks :( oh and btw you should exploit the jehets and drull by sending them to their ideal planets and using them to colonize planets humans don't like and in the end they will be more happy and more importantly productive.

Build a a defensive line mixing every available weapon type at your disposal. Wait for the torpedoes as well. Each and every system should have a jump trapped station on their border. If they declare war, double up the stations for problem systems while the fleet builds.
