    SHACK! That station in Vega will be useless. You need to move it to one of your colonized systems! Because the enemy has wormhole generators, they don't follow hyperspace lanes, so they can just jump straight to Sol. Fortify your colonies!

    • @Donutgames00
      @Donutgames00 8 лет назад +7

      Yes sent up platforms on important systems, coloneys, resource rich systems etc. since they can just jump any where

      Put the FTL inhibitor back on the station design. It said in the description of that module that it forcibly redirects enemy fleets in FTL to the station. So I think that module was intended to deal with exactly this situation.

      You guys all forget that the wormhole generator is the slowest means of transportation. While they may be able to move to Sol in a single jump, SHACK will be at one of their world's long before it charges.

    Send in a small fleet to attack their frontier outpost, luring their fleet to defend, then send in the rest of your fleet and crush them.
    Once their fleet is dealt with, you can destroy their mining stations and colonies unchallenged.
    If you destroy the frontier outpost immediately, they might not send their fleet, and their capital will be well defended (500 from station + 250ish from fleet)

    • @renedealvarado
      @renedealvarado 8 лет назад +1

      alternatively, you could divide your fleet in 2 and take down their mining stations, colonies and wormhole-thingies faster.
      if you just leave their capital there wont be anything they can do, you can take your sweet time to finish that spaceport off.

    • @Donutgames00
      @Donutgames00 8 лет назад

      +René De Alvarado yep once you divide and conquer, just mush ur 2 fleets together on the spaceport

      As Crown Prince and current Reichsmarschalll of (New) Prussia, I would recommend destroying the frontier outpost, and perhaps capturing the north most planet. Perhaps it would be best to leave a small enclave of Dominion forces as a buffer against the other foul Xenos.

    "We live in hard times. We have always lived.
    Every day of our life is struggle and it doesn't matter if it is struggle at Sanctuary or at Destiny, it does not matter if it is struggle back here at Earth. It doesn't matter if it is struggle with animals, environment or maggots.
    It has been like this for millenia, since the first men lit a fire and scared away terrors of night, since the Roman Empire, since the Alexandr the Great, since the Napoleon Bonaparte, since the tsar Peter the Great, since general Washington, since leader Arnold Peacemaker, since consul Shack.
    That struggle, we all feel every day, unites us all through the ages, through the time, through the Alliance, through the space.
    That struggle unites us all and it gives us purpose, meaning, it gives us reason.
    That struggle makes us strong.
    That struggle makes us able to face any threat we encounter.
    Now there is new thing to struggle with. Our very borders, our brethern, our lives, threaten.
    But now, we are shattered, our unitity is weaken...
    We...
    We CANNOT allow this!
    We must struggle once more. We must rebuild our fleet. We must train our soldiers.
    We must make our enemies fear the word Mankind once again.
    We must scare away the terrors of night. We must fight the Jehetma.
    Through honor we live, through duty we survive. "

    +TheXPGamers Sir you have to focus on taking out the wormhole generators. The ships with wormhole or warpdrive dont follow the hyperlane network you use. And the bad part is that the Dominians wormhole generator is inrange of the Sol system! The Frontier outpost is where you saw it on the map. Here is something important to know. The spaceports arent as powerfull as the number shows, luckly the Dominian are Pacifists so they dont have a strong fleet.
    For the war goals I would do what you wanted to do from the start, just capture the 1 system. But if you have enough war goal points capacity I would liberate the 2 last planets so that they get the traits you have and you can maybe make them your vassal in a more peaceful way.
    That was my report on the War Strategy and on what the plans should be.
    This is Rykan Trydan of the GTE signing off.

    Hello Captain!
    From my experience, if you choose to go to war this early, you should aim to get all the systems or else make them a vassal/tribute. Otherwise, they will cause major problems for you in the future.
    Therefore a plan for a long(ish) war (its impossible to have a very long war against one opponent at this stage):
    First, build to fleet capacity at this stage its simple with little economic fallout, engage in trade deals if you run a deficit. Remember to upgrade your ships with their hard-cuonters.
    Build 4-5 attack armies (queue 6-7 total to be safe)
    Forget the frontier outpost for now, it has no tactical or strategic benefit in this war and can be destroyed later.
    This means you should concentrate on their systems.
    But they have wormhole tech and can skip all the hyperspace lanes, they can reach you before you can reach their first core systems. so you should first expect to defend your core systems and colonies before anything else. only engage if they don't do so first.
    Order of engagement. Qifitar from south. destroy the wormhole station first, then engage the fleet and station. since you are countering them, you should win that engagement. bomb the planet, and bring in the armies and engage. This should kill their momentum.
    Then destroy the frontier outpost to be safe.
    If they attack the planet, don't worry, your ships should come back in time.
    then go straight to their homeworld, destroy their station and any ships, bomb, bring in armies you should be able to conquer the world easily again (though if not, build more armies, their production is horrible by now, they shouldn't be able to attack in force anywhere) and after you have their capital, they should surrender; if not, rinse repeat with their last system.
    Aaaaand done!
    PS: Don't forget to try and get some war allies in this war. it will get you on good terms with them. create defensive pacts and so on as needed.

    Cpt. Aldebrand Quest reporting for war council. From my own experience and rather intense computer simulation (video games) i have found that the best course of action to protect against the Mushroom kingdom is by fortifying our high value areas, especially the homeworld. Their FTL capabilities let them travel to any of your systems directly and as such you should outfit your defence platforms with the FTL inhibitor which forcibly redirects any incoming ftl traffic to the defence stations location. After you do that you're pretty much free to "accidentally" insert extremely large AP shells into their...skulls? Do they even have skeletons?

    Just a note Captain: Army strength does not boost your naval prowess, it is for your ground forces. So unless you plan on doing a ton of invasions(which you may considering the oncoming war) then the mineral bonus will be the only benefit you obtain from that research. Not sure if you knew this or not, but thought I would chuck it out there either way.
    My stance on the war: Push them as hard as you can until they surrender, then make them a part of the empire. We might have a use for them.
    Enjoying the series, and glad you are safely moved in. Have a wonderful day good sir.

    Guten Tag, Herr Consul, fellow commanders of the Alliance Armed Forces, meine Freunden.
    I am Crown Prince Rolph Friedrich Danielek Hohenzollern Kaiser von Adlersburg, of the Old Prussian blood and heir to the Kingdom of Prussia. And I come before you today to deliver the concerns of the Prussian state. As you know, the Third World War, sometimes referred to as the War of Prussian Resurgence by my kinsmen, saw the reestablishment of the Prussian State under the XPG Systems Alliance. We are forever thankful that you allowed us to restore our nation and once again bow to a King. It is our duty as faithful members of the Alliance to help guide this great confederation. See, we Prussians are born with Krieg in our blood, and are well accustomed to war. That being said, I wish to offer some advice.
    I am aware that many outside the continent of Europa, and even those within Europa who reside beyond the Fifth Reich, dislike the collectivism that is unique to our people. Thusly, I am aware my approach to the possible war with the Xenos filth may be looked down upon by other members of Alliance.
    Regardless, it is the belief of both the Nobility and Military Aristocracy of Prussia that our ground forces are woefully unprepared for any true conflict. It is our belief that a ground force is required to effectively wage war, and therefore request that at least two "Preußischen Kriegsinfanterie" (Prussian War Infantry) regiments be raised on Earth. Such regiments should be named as such "1. Preußischen Kriegsinfanterie" "2. Preußischen Kriegsinfanterie" and so on. These additional ground forces would ensure victory over the Xenos filth that dares face down Humanity!
    Our men and women shall fight and die as we have for hundreds of years: Für Gott, König, und Vaterland! Make no mistake, Herr Consul, this war shall won with the oldest of Prussian (and now Human) resources: Iron and Blood.
    Gott Mit Uns.

      Prince Rolph! What is your opinion on the strategy for the possible war with the Jehetma Dominion?

    • @ryankiser4639
      @ryankiser4639 8 лет назад +1

      Well, I am no expert on void-based combat, but I believe the heart of all offensive wars is a swift Blitzkrieg. We should not slowly destroy every installation above every planet. Instead, we should remove the more vital stations and hunt down their fleet. Once we have broken their might, we should begin to tear apart their "Empire" bit by bit.
      We should salt the earth with the blood of these Xenos filth.
      Now, if you'll excuse me.

    Greetings, Captain. I'm considering our naming principles for our men of war... well, of course, individual names are one thing, but class is something else. Our corvettes are named for bird of prey- quick, swooping in and tearing things apart. For the flagship destroyers, I'm thinking names like Tribal, Warlord, Chief/Chieftain class, as a destroyer acts as the lead of the fleet. And considering how conflict is human nature, something from our very roots may be of interest.

    Captain,
    I think your plan is good and that it will work. However, you have to create multiple fleets for flexibility. Keep a much larger fleet for the main assault on their homeworld and have the other, smaller, fleets attack their outlying colonies and outposts. Also, after the war is won, and it will be won, you will then have multiple fleets to deal with multiple threats at once.

    The auto complete on the station replaced the special effect (went back to the subspace snare after you selected mines) but that's a good thing since its primary effect is to pull any incoming ships arriving in that system into where the station is, without at least one station with that module the enemy will just fly around it.
    Aside from that, what other people have said, wormholes can bypass your front systems, either hit their close wormhole generates quickly (Find them before war, search all systems and note where the wormholes are)

    I would say a multi-pronged assault from three points the Vega, Sirius and Heka system with the bulk of the fleet going to Vega. Using a scorched earth policy burn a path to their capital. The other two fleets will take the systems directly adjacent to them and then rendezvous in the Cyban system then do a sweeping motion from above the enemy capital effectively cutting them off from a majority of their resources. Also, I would place a defense platform on Sol as they have wormhole tech which circumvents the hyperspace lanes which limit our mobility. Hit them hard and hit them fast as a general note.

    I think your plan is faulty, shack. There is no warp lines from the northern section to the rest. This means as you attack the north they could attack border planets. I would attack at the south and go north, in the end you can take the north.

  • @naoura4939
    @naoura4939 8 лет назад +14

    I would say go straight for the full attack. Your fleet is as strong if not stronger, especially with the new Destroyer technology. If you were to simply keep the momentum and blockade Jehet while Mobile takes Qttar. Once Qttar is take, move Mobile over to Jehet and take their entire 'Dominion' away from them.
    The Galaxy is no place for the weak. Let them taste the consequences of angering the Alliance.

      This is generally my conquest strategy on Masters of Orion.
      I have my assault fleet, which have no bombers whatsoever, and then my siege fleet, which has a skeleton crew of defensive craft and a bunch of bombers and troop transports. You basicaly obliterate their main defenses with the assault fleet, then use the siege fleet to finish the job.

    • @OttersTho
      @OttersTho 8 лет назад +2

      While you make a good point of the direct assault, he did place emphasis on the outpost. I would suggest sweeping upwards from Sol, taking out the outpost, then moving to the left and downwards straight to Jehet. After taking out the capital, he can easily mop up the other two colonies. Leaving any planets unsecured would promote rebellious behavior. Just because they have a peaceful policy does not mean they wont act aggressive if provoked. If he doesn't invade the other worlds, then placing defensive platforms in the systems would suffice as well. The gov't of the XPGA is militaristic, and therefore should exercise the full force of the alliance. It would also serve as a show of force towards the more aggressive alliances. Essentially, Shack should make an example out of the 'shrooms as a warning to all other potential threats. I do agree though, there is no place for the weak. Only the strong may exist, and the Alliance is the strongest.

    • @naoura4939
      @naoura4939 8 лет назад

      DarkDragon0882 The defensive outpost can be dealt with in time, and likely would be less than a nuisance at best. The best bet in my opinion would be to go through with the hard assault on their capital, with a few tender fleets blockading their colonies. Uprisings can be put down, given enough force.
      Cut the head off the snake, and the body might struggle, but it too will die. The biggest deal with the Cut and Claim strategy is to completely disarm the enemy and knock out their strongest planets, the one's with the greatest production ability. Their shipyards, so to speak. Cut your way there, knocking out defensive positions along the way, and then working your way back out. As long as the enemy doesn't have a fleet around you to cut off your supply line or escape route, it works perfectly each time. The planets are defensless from the orbit, and you can strike at their ground at any point you so please, or else leave them blockaded until they simply capitulate.

    • @OttersTho
      @OttersTho 8 лет назад

      Kieran Hughes While it is a sound strategy, there would also be a political backlash with destroying everything, hence my suggestion at a simple defense platform. While the alliance is a militaristic gov't, not all citizens may agree, and uprisings at home can weaken the war effort. My whole idea was similar, but ignoring the colonies, as shack also needs to preserve the ground forces for the capital. I agree, cut off the head of the snake, but why not try to preserve our forces as much as possible in the process?

    Oh man Shack, you scared me there for a second when the research option came up for Powered Exosuits and you DIDN'T immediately take that option. I literally said, "But Mobile Infantry..." like 3 times out loud before you finally chose it. So yeah, you can officially start calling your soldiers 'Mobile Infantry' once that's done, and go stomp some bugs - I mean, mushrooms ;D
    Now, for my official recommendation as a member of the War Council: Other members have already mentioned the wormhole concern and the different options for taking planets, particularly member 'The Mighty .Chicken' in regard to the latter. I only wish to add that I agree with targeting the Frontier Outpost as your first strike, before moving on to occupation of their planets.

      P.S. Do you plan on continuing XCOM 2? And if so, are you thinking about enabling the Alien Hunters/Shen's Last Gift content for the current campaign? If you do it retroactively, you won't get the extra story mission for each, but you will get the weapons from AH and the research to get a MEC. I don't actually remember whether or not the rulers will just show up if you enable AH retroactively though, that might be something to look into...

    what i notice is that a majority is suggesting that you either a: smash the capital or b: take out the wormhole generators
    however, judging from the layout of the hyperlanes i think it would be wiser to let the enemy make the first move and destroy their fleet on allied territory. that will allow your fleet to attack the enemy without unnecessary haste and will result in a slower but more secure victory.

    Shack, redesign your ships for armor plating and put mass drivers in the medium sized weapon slots as the Jehetma have Mass-drivers which have a fair amount of shield penetration, also survey their space before going to war and have a science ship trailing behind your fleet to research any debris, and first thing you should do when you got to war is knock-out their outpost in the north, and ignore orbital mining/research station as you might gain control of them during the course of the war.

    A possible strategy could be, take the bulk of your fleet straight to their home planet and wipe out that fleet and maybe the station too, meanwhile send the ground troops and an escort to the unprotected planet, if you can send the escort to the outpost in the north.

    I highly suggest researching the so called energy siphons for combat operations. Through my own research, I have learned that while the energy siphon doesn't hit as hard as our mass drivers, they can pierce through fifty percent of enemy shield systems. It may take a while to learn how to best implement such weapons on our ships, but it will be worth the time. -Inventor kiobio

    The Jehetma Dominion is using wormhole technology for long distance traveling. Although this technology allows them to travel long distances, it makes them dependent on their wormhole generators. Destroying these generators will nulify the Dominion's ability to reposition ships outside of the systems they were located in before the wormhole generator's destruction.

    I am a little concerned that they may seek to lock down the sector of the enemy space taken by their frontier outpost with the colony ship our intelligence report mentioned. With regard to building a defensive station along a likely path from enemy territory, this may end up being circumvented by the enemy which are known to use warp gates and therefore can gate to any system in range of their gate station (from my experience this range can be impressive). Even if they do not have such capability already they can achieve it by constructing a gate station closer to the border. As for overall war goals taking part of their territory may leave a live enemy behind sure to strike back when they have the chance. But taking all territory leaves us with no buffer zone to other discovered nations and can possibly alarm them. - A tough choice.

    Take out their wormhole generators first so then they can jump out. Then go for their orbital stations. After that go for one of their colonies, more specifically go for the colony with the more energy/mineral output. So then you cripple their resource income.

  • @camerondavids2481
    @camerondavids2481 8 лет назад

    A good plan of attack would be to seize and hold one of their colonies, which would draw out their main fleet for a counterattack, crush them, and capturing the capital would be easy as pie. Divide and conquer. This is of course after you've destroyed their wormhole generators, frontier outposts etc.

    Shack it's really important that you build out your existing planets. At the moment I'm not even sure that some of them are even paying for themselves. it's worth spending a little resources in the short term to increase the income you get from them in the long term

  • @sgtwolf0053
    @sgtwolf0053 8 лет назад

    Hmm Shack for the war plan I suggest that you first of all strike at the frontier outpost in the Eugizim system (so at war start stick your fleet in the Sirius system), then at that point you could probably go after Qifitar and bombard the planet a bit. When you're there you should make a note of where the enemy fleet is, better to kill it when it's not near their star base then when it is near it. After you've dealt with the fleet and/or Qifitar go after the homeworld and maybe even take it.
    It's important to note about what your wargoals are, do you want to humiliate them, force open borders, cede, liberate or force them from planets or even make them a tributary or vassal? Vassals can be eventually integrated into your empire, so that might be the best option for you, also protectorates can be turned into vassals once they research 40% of your current tech.
    Also Shack note that the Jehetma Dominion is one of the pre-made races that you can select at the beginning of the game, and as a result they have their lore listed for you when you select them. I think it's worth the time to read the lore tidbit to get a better idea and understanding on how their culture and society functions, especially since you have those intro news reports and you might take a planet or two and/or might vassalize them, which I strongly suggest. But yeah that's my opinion on it, I don't mind about how your war plan is but I do strongly suggest that you vassalize the Dominion.
    Wonder if Shack will read this? He *did* ask for our opinions so maybe, I don't know.

    Shack you only changed the front half of your Destroyer you can modify the back half as well. Also for your plan of attack you should send the fleet after whatever outpost they have blocking your northern route first then move on the closest planet. You may want to keep a second fleet ready though because once you start the war ant attack they will probably retaliate pretty fast and you will need a quick responce fleet to deal with them.
