    Battle report from war corespondent aboard the Alliance Corvette Heresy:
    Several months ago, the Alliance main battle fleet entered Djunn space. Crew morale was good, and everyone fully expected the war with the Cardassians to be over before we even had to fire a single shot. "We're only to follow the Djunn fleet and provide support if necessary," Captain Edward of the Heresy told me. "Command doesn't want a single human life lost in this conflict if it can be prevented." It was only an hour later that we received word of a Cardassian deep strike against the Djun planet of Jurg-Gurhill. The enemy fleet devastated the space station orbiting the planet, then faded back into their own space. The Djunn fleets pursued with a vengeance, and as per orders the Alliance followed them right into the jaws of the trap.
    The fleet was torn from hyperspace by some kind of inhibitor field projected by a Cardassian defense station. We were surrounded, with the defense station at our rear, a formidable orbital bastion at our front, and multiple Cardassian battle groups bearing down on their prey.
    It wasn't a fight, it was a massacre. The combined might of the Alliance and the Foundation smashed the first wave of Cardassian corvettes, but this was nothing more than cannon fodder to distract our guns from the real targets.The Directorate warships dove into our ranks with a fearlessness bordering on insanity, blasting out ships with bizarre laser arrays and crashing their burning vessels into ours when their doom became inevitable. All the while, that unassailable fortress provided fire support from afar.
    Even so, the day might have been won were it not for the foolishness of the Djunn admiral. Rather than focus their fire on the stations, they commanded all Djunn ships to destroy the enemy's mining infrastructure, as though it would not be rebuilt within days once we were annihilated.
    With our fleet in tatters and our flagship annihilated, Captain Vating ordered the remaining ships to focus fire on the station with the inhibitor field. Moments after it was destroyed, he commanded the fleet to jump to hyperspace. His ship, however, was destroyed before it could make the jump.
    Only five corvettes escaped the massacre, heavily damaged and with shattered morale. After a few moments, Captain Edward took command as acting admiral and ordered the fleet back to Sol space dock, leaving behind thirteen destroyed ships and over seven thousand dead.
    I cannot begin to explain the sheer terror I felt during the battle. At any moment, we might have been annihilated by a laser or a Cardassian kamikaze. I stood on the bridge as voice after voice on the communication line was cut off, never to be heard again. That we escaped with our lives at all is a miracle. Now, as the battered remnants of the once proud Alliance main battle fleet limps home, I have to wonder; is anything worth this?

    2.5k minerals, fleet getting massacred, no buildings queued, no reinforcements on the way, no plan for a ground component to the Directorate invasion, and only a single colony ship being built... Glad to see the Alliance bureaucracy is operating at its usual efficiency.

    "Intercepted transmission from Cardassia"
    Our enemies attack on our home system was devastating, not did the resource station fall but the fleet took casulties from their invasion of our space. However the sacrifice of those who fell, will not weaken our resolve. it will serve to strengthen our nation. Through our combined strength and determination we will punish those who dare cross us

    Shack, I would suggest calling the ship with the heavy torpedo loadouts the Longbow class. Anyway, as for the war itself, I suggest you act independently after you rebuild your fleet. You're allies are clearly incompetent. And by supporting them you'll only bring disaster down on yourself...again. I suggest a series of deep strikes into the enemies interior. Hit and run, shoot and scoot. This'll give your allies time to grow stronger and become more effective (thereby pulling their heads out of their asses) or, it'll force the Cardies to split their forces as they battle both you and the Foundation on separate fronts...and thus weakening their overall front. Or so is the theory.

    1: you can right click on another fleet to tell a selected fleet to follow it, which probably would've been better than micromanaging the Foundation Expeditionary Force.
    2: Someone closing their borders to you isn't a prelude to war, but more like a dissaproving glare, or sanctions. They were essentially saying,"we'd prefer if you stopped with your war-mongering/handling of this rebellion/expanding borders. Please?"

    • @jef_3006
      @jef_3006 8 лет назад +10

      3: The Dominion had FTL Inhibitor stations (personally I think they should be called FTL Snares) which force any hostile fleet entering the system to appear where they're located. You probably figured this out in 20 seconds from where I'm paused when your ships arrived, but what our might not have realized is that you can build these too. It goes in the slot on the right side when creating a Defense Platform

Right now we're pulling out our operations in the Jehet Sector to be left in the hands of the Security Forces, we believe that our interests should be focused on the security of our colonies in the southeastern star systems as well as our core worlds. We'll be monitoring those systems thoroughly to make sure Cardassians don't infiltrate our space.

    Having recently reviewed the historical documents, I foresee difficult but prosperous times in the future of the System Alliance. Though the Jehet Rebellions and the war with the Directorate provide significant difficulty to the future of the Alliance, we will overcome these adversities with the might and the fury that is our heritage.
    There is not and has never been an adversity that we cannot overcome. From our humble beginnings on our small world, to our first interstellar war we have created an Alliance that is the very envy of the stars. We will continue, we will prosper, we will stand united in the face of this challenge. And. We. Will. Triumph!

  • @dylanbritt6303
    @dylanbritt6303 8 лет назад +2

    yeah so the station you got pulled into has an FTL snare that will pull your fleet right on top of it (no matter the FTL type) they come default on all vanilla defense stations and can even be mounted on larger ship types such as the battleship ( and yes it keeps them form retreating by moving you back over the station and it will reset the E-FTL counter so only retreat when the snare has been destroyed )

    who ever told the Commander of the 1st ADF that attaking the Cardies homeworld was a good idea needs to be demoted or court marshaled for falling into the same trap the mushrooms did at the start of war with them.

    • @UnknownSquid
      @UnknownSquid 8 лет назад +1

      Well it was the Djin Foundation admiral that led the charge. The Alliance fleet merely reluctantly followed. From the looks of it the Djin admiral perished in the fight (whilst desperately trying to kill a remote mining station for no reason), so no court marshalling needed or possible. I guess. : /

    • @joshstreet6819
      @joshstreet6819 8 лет назад +1

      the Alliance Admiral would have sent in a small force to see what's in the system. it could have been the Foundation's High Command that said(we need to send all ship into the fight)but someone need to talk ADF Command into going in blind.the battle ended in a draw with both side able to claim a small victory (cardies they pushed the enemy out of their space)(Alliance & Foundation we took out an enemy fleet but took heavy loses)

    • @UnknownSquid
      @UnknownSquid 8 лет назад +1

      Josh Street
      Any small scout force would have been caught in the warp inhibitor and instantly destroyed. The Foundation perhaps should have done that to at least avoid the trap, but since they'd already gone in, the Alliance fleet didn't really have any choice.
      The options were to either get in there quick, resulting in crushing losses but at least also destroying the Cardassian fleet.
      Or, to pull back and not back up the Foundation, which would have led to being badly out numbered by the surviving Cardasian fleets.
      It was a mess, but at least this way Shack has the mineral storage to quickly replenish the fleet (and with new designs too), and the Cardasians are unable to push their assault now that their fleet is too small to defeat any space stations.

    Yesterday May 6th the largest battle in Alliance history ended in a tactical withdrawal. The battle lasting several days taking place in orbit of Cardassia Prime the home world of the Cardassian Union. The first Alliance Defense Fleet took heavy casualties in the engagement after a drive miscalculation jumped the fleet right into the middle of the on-going battle. Crewman of the vessel being used as Fleet Coordinator Shack's flagship which will not be named for security reasons, state that he became annoyed with the Foundation Admiral, quoting him saying. "You idiots are gonna attack a mining base instead of the defense platform, then we are leaving." The fleet is expected home in Earth space docks later this month for repair. In other news the Jehet Sector rebellions are being suppressed by Alliance Forces, several high ranking members of the rebellions leadership have been captured and face military tribunal later this week. Many among the Alliance military hope that these rebellions will be the last time troops have to be deployed to the sector. In tonight's final news story the Alliance science vessel Nomad is taking on final preparations for its 5 year mission into unexplored space. We here at XPGNN wish her crew and Captain Macfarlane a safe journey. That's it for tonights netcast. This has been Brad Knightable signing off, and as always we ask the only question that matters. Are you doing your part? Join the System Alliance now! Service guarantees citizenship... We done? I had a meeting scheduled for 15 minutes ago.. What do you mean they can still hear me? Whoops.

    You should colonize as many planets as you can, more planets mean more defense points, places to heal ships, radar range, and even though some are really small it's still worth it to get those extra resources on them

  • @reddragonfall
    @reddragonfall 8 лет назад +2

    To Cpt. Shack of Alliance High Command,
    Weapons tests have shown the autocannons to be surprisingly deadly, if mounted on larger weapons platforms. While they have the range of a mass driver one size smaller than them, their punishing salvos puncture shields in moments and the explosive shells make short work of anything underneath. While the torpedoes are a very effective stand-off weapon and have the capability to puncture shields, their large size makes them vulnerable to point defense, and their slow travel times may allow hostile vessels to fire more salvos before destruction. This concludes my report and I hope you use this information well.

    You can build a space station in orbit and provide some food to to the population
    Edicts and paradise domes (or other buildings like it) are a great way to raise population approval) also be careful when bombing planets past the 0 HP mark, doing so causes debuffs on all pacifist pops in your empire 5% at a time (but it can stack).
    (Personally I had a mod installed that allowed for far stronger farms and solar panels on stations once it was upgraded to appropriate levels, preventing them from starving when they strike).

    31:40 The Asari are Federation Builders, appropriate. Also insulting the Cardassian is probably a good idea since you get influence from it and you increase your relations with others that dislike the Cardassian i.e the Foundation.
    So it is totally worth doing! With the ship designs while it is tempting to put deflectors on medium slots you should put power there instead since excess power grants you bonuses and you can then have more stuff on your ships by having more power, just better for you in general.
    Edit: While I'm at it next time you bring your fleet round to Cardassian space make sure to destroy the wormhole station in the Unif system on the Foundation, Directorate border. Destroying it will hamper the movement by a considerable amount especially on the offensive into Foundation space.
    Make sure to destroy any wormhole station in general, and the fight over the Cardassian homeworld worked out in your favor a lot more than it seems. Most of their main defenses and fleets are destroyed and you didn't lose much, so they're weaker the next time you come around.

    Well, that battle was the definition of Irony. Considering you don't stand to gain as much from this war as the Foundation, you should probably focus on defense, raids, and keeping your ships alive and let the Foundation do most of the frontline battles. No need to risk lives and ships if you really don't stand to gain much from it.

    A good strategy I have found with ships is to have Corvettes be close range, fast ships using engine boosters and then the combat AI chip things that tells them to go in close, while my larger ships have a different AI that tells them to stay back and just launch volley after volley of torpedoes at them.
    Also the reason you could not build on that planet in the Jehet sector was because it was in a sector, but I believe there is some way to build on planets within a sector.
    Also do Ocean World colonization.

      Senator Dirge of the Nova Prosperity Party speaking,
      We represent Humanity's interests in integrating into the Galactic Community while maintaining our sovereignty and we have our concerns. We are not warmongers but some races are clearly a threat to all freedom and liberty.
      Gentlemen, I believe that our military plans for the Directorate were severely lacking. Both in vital intelligence and planning. We have underestimated the strength of the Cardassian's defenses and overestimated the tactic capability of the Djunn. Our fleet is lacking and it is damaged. But at least the Jehet Insurrection has been contained.
      So my question to you my fellow party members is this; how do we rectify and modify our plans for the next wave and how to prevent another disaster like this?

    The reason you can't build on the Jehetma planets is that you put them all in a sector. you can only build Space stations and station upgrades / ships in your sectors.. the sector government has jurisdiction on planetary buildings, not the central government.

    I feel like a the name you gave the new destroyers was good, but I also have a suggestion.
    Laridae(Or Laridae Gull) Class Destroyer.
    This name comes from the Latin term for seagull, because I am a sucker for Latin and scientific names. I figure seagulls are a fitting homage because of the way they dive bomb fish, and air to ocean torpedo. AND, there are a lot of them, just like there will be a lot of torpedoes flying in any battle with the new ships!

    For some reason, I really like this excerpt I wrote in Abe Ron's senate rp thing in the comments:
    "EDIT-(The results of the battle show) that our navy should be improved in a manner, that it is prepared in even a supporting role, to stand on it's own. Our enemies, and even potential allies, can be unpredictable and unreliable. Our military needs to adapt, learn form these mistakes, and prepare for future conflicts accordingly." -Senator Artifex Coolidge

    i miss these old wars, these long ones that feel like an actual war, where ships from both sides are being built and lost, planets being taken and retaken back and forth, now with the new war exhaustion, you would be lucky for a war to enter its 3rd or 4th year before war exhaustion forces a white peace on both nations.

    While having the heavy torpedos will give you a heavy hitter you have also man a destroyer that has no short range wepons. I think you should make another design set up to suport the AZ class. go back to the 2 small 1 Med on the front with the 1 Med and 1 Small on the back. Both back slot's you should put rail guns on the back and auto cannons on the front. call it the Brawler class. It should make up for the lack of cannon on the AZ class. Another design you might want to try is the large trop on the back, with Med rail and two small Auto Cannon on the front. Call it the Balista.

    President/Overlord/Emperor Shak, we here at the BBB ( Bureau of Big Booms ) Have, after much deliberation and discussion, come to the following consensus regarding the Republic's interests in regards to this week's report;
    one, we believe multiple classes of Destroyer need to be made, namely one equipped with lots of Medium autocannons, armour and engines, and the other being the torpedo boat you have created now. these two ships should be created as seperate fleets, with the medium destroyer ( Code-named, Aggressor ) getting into close range and tying up enemy fleets in a brawl, whilst the second fleet engages with torpedoes at a distance. this mix will allow us to capitalize on high DPM at close range whilst doing high burst damage at long range with torpedoes.
    also, we believe it would be beneficial to the empire, to colonize an ocean world, in order to develop naval weapons and tactics for operations in such environs by our ground forces in the future. ocean world environs often involve battles and engagements on small islands and island chains with massive underwater battles, and training in engaging on such alien would would benefit us, should we discover a foe in the future who dwells on such.
    Finally, guaranteeing the independence of the Djunn might gain us an ally, but might not be worth the cost of ensuring such an agreement, given the Djunn's tendancy to expand into our borders, and their, Gross incompetence at fighting.
    also, we believe you should construct some hyper entertainment centers on Destiny and Sanctuary, in order to increase the populace's happiness

    Suggestion:
    The war of Cardassian Aggression rages on, and here to present you with the latest news from the front, me, Shack Brannigan! The first major battle of the war ended in loss for our forces. The Foundation made a daring attack straight into the center of Cardassian space, attempting to win the war quickly and restore peace, but was unprepared for the heavy defenses the Cardassians had placed in their home system. Even after reinforcements from the System Alliance arrived to help, the Foundation forces had already taken a beating. The battle ended with a shattered retreat, and large parts of both Alliance and Foundation fleets decimated. With this victory, the Cardassians took a tentative step forward into a border system, and attempted to bombard the system, but Foundation distraction tactics prevented them from doing too much damage, and both the Foundation and Alliance are steadily rebuilding their fleets. In other news, the Jehet provinces rose up in revolt, wishing to reestablish a unified Jehet state, despite rifts that have formed between different Jehet planets in recent years. The revolt was soundly crushed, and leaders of the revolt executed, but a new faction has risen in it's place, and the strikes and riots continue. The Senate hopes that more advanced Social Welfare Programs will ease their plight, but some have said that the government needs to focus more on figuring out why they are unhappy, and trying to accommodate those problems. And finally, the senate voted 60% in favor guaranteeing the independence of the Djunn Galactic Foundation and the Asari Republics, in the hopes of fostering better relations with them.

    Haven't finished the video, but I want to mention some information I've picked up from other Leaders(players)
    Regenerative Hull is expensive, I get that, but one Leader has stated that the tech is the most useful, not on EVERY ship, but on BIG ships like destroyers and Battleships. Those are expensive to repair and take a long time to do so, so RH would help alleviate the cost of doing so on the Alliances most powerful ships.
    Food for thought.

    Shack, a couple tips.
    1: Don't call your new ship class the Arizona class. As Jon Harper says the Longbow class is a good name.
    2: The reason why you cannot build in the Jehet sector is because it's a sector.
    3: If you want to improve relations with other empires, build embassies in their territory. Though I don't know if they have requirements for embassies or not.
    4: Don't guarantee the independence of the people who are pushing your borders. You may have to fight them eventually.
    5: I personally think the real threats to the Alliance are gonna be to its galactic east. Watch those Asari, they're a tricky people.
    6: To the war, you should've never followed your allies. Fight this war on your own, but don't do too much of the heavy lifting.

    Also, lol at the end when you were telling them to build up a bigger fleet, It take 120 days to build one destroyer, you build six. It will take you two years to build those six from one star base. The foundation and cardasians will have their fleets ready again much sooner than you will at that construction speed.

    EDIT:1 When upgrading your FTL Method, it must be done for all ships otherwise the fleet will only jump when the slowest is ready to go.
