good idea, i think i will pull bed and replace pumps and tanks and fuel necks... dropping tanks not hard at all, straps, cut bolts/replace with new hardware
Ive done this without pulling he bed. My first thought was to pull the bed but when I tried to breaker bar the bolts loose I swear I heard them laughing at me. Mine is an 88 so I'm not sure what is different on yours but here is what might help based on a weekend that I would have rather spent punching myself in the dick. First the good news. The tank is not that heavy when empty and there a port on the ECU module that when jumped to ground will run the fuel pump off the battery so you can drain the tank. There is also a fuel pressure shutoff under the dash above the pedals. If your in tank pumps are completely dead there is no good news. Firstly when you drop the tank the fuel lines and electric cables do not have enough slack to drop the tank all the way. You need to keep the tank supported at a lower level than it normally sits and slowly drop it enough to disconnect the wires and then the fuel line. I used a jack table and it still sucked. The mid tank isn't bad. If you do that one first you can build up a good amount of false hope. To say the back one is tight is an understatement. You have to lift up one side at a time to wiggle it out from the frame. If its that much fun coming out you can imagine how much fun it is going back in. The other part is unhooking the filler neck. I have no advice but I will pray for you.
@@gregbryant3826 I did it both ways. I replaced the bed and THEN a leak in the tank appeared and I just took out the tank and made the leak repair and then had difficulty connecting the gas line connection so I unscrewed the six bolts and raised the bed to make the connection.
I used a grinder and made two flat spots on the side of each bolt and then used vice grips to hold the bolt.
Throw a cinder block in the bed, slide around in bed to get right pitch or level. Just glad no one got hurt. Good luck
"How not to remove the bed on your OBS Ford F250"😁
so question once i want to reinstall the bed just buy 6 new carriage bolts and nuts?
What bolts did you use when you put you bed back on?
Hilarious!
good job ! Pain in the butt sometimes huh .
Where did you buy that cherry picker thing look durable as all hell lol
It’s an old harbor freight unit
I need to change fuel pumps is a 97 F250 gas with 2 tanks.
Trying to decide if it will be easier to pull the bed off than drop 2 tanks.
Anybody?

This is definitely not the way to do this. LoL
It’s def not the preferred method but it got it removed and reinstalled after I fixed the bed.
