Great video sir! Very informative! :) Wonder if a diesel would be much different beyond having to disconnect a DEF hose as well. Either way, this is good information to have just in case it would ever need done. Great job on saving money!! - Shane
Hey Shane thanks for checking out the video! The Diesel bed as well as models that have the sensors in the rear bumper might have a few small differences but for the most part I bet they are pretty close. Initially my goal was to just get a fully painted factory bed vs. having the body shop cut up and weld my bed... but it took thinking outside the box to get the outcome I wanted and saving/making money turned out to be a great side effect. I hope to inspire people to look at a situation from a different point of view and try to tackle it! More F250 videos to come, the extra money went into some new mods!!
Great video! This made me opt out of having my body shop do the swap for me. Probably saving me an easy $500. Every dollar counts when the matching bed is $3k (I live in the northeast). Now I just wish I had 2 friends ...🤣
Wow that frame is Fooking CLEAN! I need to replace or repair the bed on my 2012 King Ranch due to rust. Can't find one because its a short box. BTW the bed bolts are supposed to be one time use, so plan on replacing them regardless.
My 2003 took off fender flares to fix rust and it don’t look good and when you step in a particular spot in the bed it crunches and sinks. I don’t think I’ll have as easy as a time as you considering the amount of rust on my bed. I’ll likely have to cut off ever bolt… Great Video you make it look easy!
Thank you it just happened to me I have an 04 hing ranch supercrew short bed. I'm still weighing the options if I should go flatbed or a takeoff like you did
I just got rear ended 2016 F250 XL super crew cab and 8 ft bed 200k miles in the truck. Geico total my truck I got offered 15.200 buy back option was $2700 I think I’m gonna take the offer replace the bed bumper and tailgate
Nice video! I'm getting the bed floor rebuilt on my truck this weekend, so I'll be having new cross members installed as well. Do the bed bolts go through the cross members, or just the frame?
How do think you would lift the bed if you don't have extra help? What did you set the bed on? I want to be able to flip the bed to work on the underside.
I cant remember if I showed a clip in the video but I did use a hoist as well and some tie-downs to each corner to lift the bed by myself. I set the be on saw-horses held it no problem.
I wish mine was that easy, the plug to box tail lights etc on mine is no where near where yours, still got to find it. Ihave to grind off ALL my bolts, shattered 2 T-50 torx bits!

Best video on RUclips by far. I have to do my 2000 f350 bed support rails.. thanks a million...
Best how too I’ve ever watched! And something actually went wrong just like it does irl all the time.
Thank you for this excellent video tutorial! Good camera work, very clear and easy to understand audio.
Wow! You are a master at finding ways to save money and come out ahead!
Thank you, just thinking outside the box to help out my fellow average Joe's!!

Glad the video helped!! If your garage was tall enough you might be able to raise the bed off using a hoist tied to the 4 tie down points.

Good to know thanks for sharing about the bolts, glad I bought new ones! LOL

Make sure you add all the time spent getting bed searching all information and stuff cause time is always worth something

Either way removal and installation is not too bad on this truck. Good luck with your project!!

I believe just the frame if I am remembering correctly.

Modern Ford engineers make this shit to torture us. Steel torx holding a box down is fking insane.
Very nice video. Removing the bumper is not necessary though.
Agreed and i think he was also replacing the damaged bumper as well.
I’ve had luck heating the bolts I’m pretty sure they have lock tight on them
Great tip, thanks for sharing!!
They do, one of the reasons Ford calls them one time use bolts.
My god that is the cleanest f250 ive ever seen, dont drive that thing to the north east
Does anyone know if for a 2017 f350 dually I can replace the bed with a 2024 F350 dually
No follow up video?
Como se cambia las cavinas
You live in a snow climate, how is your truck rust free underneath?
I keep in clean! LOL
All eight of my anchors broke, grinder friend.
Coulda welded a nut on those bed bolts and pulled them out
Great tip, thank you for sharing!
good idea
