Definitely get some insurance once you get some traction so you can reduce liabilities and just play it smart. The hardest thing for me was keeping a balance of inventory😅 I bought WAAAAY too many parts.

    I worked at the best repair shop in my city for 3 years and I’m thinking of starting a mobile repair shop like yours , any advice?

    • @ZEPLEON
      @ZEPLEON  3 года назад +10

      Well you should already now how to do good repairs. On the business side of things the hardest part is understanding what inventory to keep and I can’t really help with that because it’s always changing. If you’re risky you can try and do what I did and buy like $600 of parts on credit and hope the parts are used. With just a few repairs you’ll make your money back and everything else will be profit! Be nice to the customers and try and make them know you are paying attention to them. My customers would return 2-3 times and would even offer to bring me food hahaha. Just gotta build those relationships. If you’re being completely serious I would highly recommend eventually forming an LLC or another formal business and getting insurance. You can’t be scared running a business like this but you have to know there is risk that you might ruin someone’s phone with precious memories and they may become very angry. But you can’t let that fear stop you from doing business just be safe and careful! Also don’t buy the cheapest parts but at least when starting out you definitely don’t need the most expensive parts. I always went middle of the road to less expensive. But maybe with the new expensive phones get the pricier ones because they’re already worth so much and you don’t want to get a bad part that cost you $120.

    Question, one time I was fixing an XR for somebody and the screws were stripped and I couldn't get a bit on the screw head. I had to snap the backside of the screen off then cut the screw, do you know a better way to go about this?

    • @ZEPLEON
      @ZEPLEON  3 года назад

      Haha I had to do the same thing one time. I think that’s the best way to go about it, once you pry the screen off you can just twist the screw out and replace it. I didn’t basically just pried the top of the screen up and moved down to undo the adhesive and just pull the screen away from the screws. Seemed to be the best thing to do

    • @ZEPLEON

      magnetic screwdrivers! or tweezers. I have never not been able to pull one out. most important is just make sure you have the right screwdriver. some of the cheap ones aren't made exactly right and it makes them pretty useless. (Not recommended, but you can also use gravity.)

    Hey Zepleon ebay most them phones are real cheep and you can get them for parts full phones. I recommend you fix the samsung and LG ...the pixels are a pain but there really not that hard but instead of a head gun you should use a heat pad they work far better. Any phones you don't know about just watch a video on them online. You can do it ....make sure you got some pry tools and Tesla double sided tape that's good for when putting screen back on or putting the back on of a a samsung galaxy. But all the phones are easy I think except the pixel is hard to get the screen off without breaking it. To do a screen repair on most them you buy the phone with the body and then all you really do is heat off the back of the phone pry around it not to crack the thin glass backs then there's just screws usually and you swap comonents ....so alot of screeen with body jobsd gives the person a new loooking phone. Anyways I wouldn't just stick to iphone ....and don't go cheep on anyone because they have a cheep phone ...them repairs cost more then there phone sometimes. You can pull jobs off ebay also people are saying they do back glass and phone repair ....$50 get yourself a soldering heat gun and you can heat that glass off ....some use lasers but heat works fine for me i get it real hot. GJ dude nice video.

      Hey I opened up my first iPhone for a friend when I Was 12, at the time I didn’t think I would be making money from it 7 years later. Regardless it’s a good skill!

    Hi Im 17 repairing phones from my 15...
    Just few things to say...
    You should really upgrade your setup.. i mean the setup you have is not really professional and you can loose some screws and you also don't have static electricity discharge...

      Good tips, but not necessary. Way to get after it though man, keep it up!
      You’d think after 100 repairs like this I’d have lost screws or toasted a phone, nope lol.

      @ZEPLEON  3 года назад +1

      @@Dnsx_plus at least $45 for a 6 up to like 100 for a x, haven't really done any repairs since March honestly. Just go to Fixez.com and create a wholesale account and create a $30-$50 margin.

      @@ZEPLEON I actually was thinking about just flipping phones where I take broken phones for cheap, fix them, and re-sell but it gives me a $40-$50 margin, but takes longer to make money and is more work that's why I was thinking about doing repairs instead.

      @@ZEPLEON Hahaha, I'm joking buddy, nice video, but wouldn't your profits be cut low since you buy the replacement screens with the camera and earpiece built-in?

    • @ZEPLEON
      @ZEPLEON  3 года назад +1

      Ehhh not too much, and it’s kind of worth it because I can do a repair in 10 minutes versus 25-30 minutes. But yes, if you want to maximize profits don’t buy the screens with small parts.... now I mostly buy the “deluxe” screens they come with the metal plate pre installed and that saves a few minutes and is maybe a dollar more
