Not gonna lie, you are the perfect teacher for those who want to get in to growing mushrooms! Everyone else makes it so complicated and “professional” that it made me scared to even want to attempt growing mushrooms! I love and appreciate you!!
Some people in pretty much lab conditions to grow shrooms yet my man hasnt used 70% iso and is barehanding it. Thanks mate you have made me feel a lot better about the fact I dont need to have a lab to grow mushrooms. Have subbed
Great video. Mixing the sub and spawn in a trash bag then making this into the liner is GENIUS! That bin of Avery Albinos looked like a box of communion wafers, lol
Hi , im new to this and just researched about this stuff today,. So after the grain is colonized it is safe to open air or "bulletproof" to contaminants?
Curious what size tubs do you use and your height on the side far holes from the bottom. Also wondering about how many inches of sub/spawn do you have after finished, 3in?
I don't use bags very often because the waste of plastics and its just another thing I'd have to order. I prefer reusable jars and tupperware I can buy at the grocery store.
Those holes work well but look up pastys ez dial mono on shroomery for an easier tek. These original monos used 1 1/2'' to 2'' holes. The new design uses 1/4'' The modern design avoids using polyfill or micropore tape. Either will work. Due to vavariance in tubs I prefer to drill after my sub is inside so I can adjust hole placement accordingly.
Only if they need it, otherwise never. You can learn to recognize a dry tub pretty easily, they change color and shrink. My tub designs are made to eliminate misting by providing more optimal conditions than other fruiting chambers.
Hey man, I just found your channel and noticed you don’t put too much effort into disinfecting stuff like the trash bag or your tub (I’m assuming you’ve done it already) Is it not really that important? Thanks
Disinfecting is not necessary at all and trash bags are pretty much sterile off the roll. I wash my tubs between uses usually with cheap shampoo and a loofa in the shower.
@@Stay.Shroomy thank you for your answer Pretty much all videos I’ve seen emphasize in the disinfecting process a lot, so it’s nice to know it’s not that important

Just misplaced concerns 😀 I spawn tubs on my twitch streams and show their progress.

I just keep watching your videos..over and over...i have already followed your steps...lol...your a great teacher SIR
thank you thats very nice of you to say! check out my live stream on twitch from last night if you need some more content :D
@Stay.Shroomy you are welcome...and I never used twitch ..but I found you!

i thought someone stole your identity lmao had to peep how you do liners to make sure it was you

66qt.
66 quart is the standard
Can you do a tutorial on how to make grain spawn bag's and then enoculation and all that ?

Exactly what I was looking for. Are you casing on everything these days mainly for moisture control?
Yeah a top layer helps with consistent surface conditions and ptotects the grains.
@@Stay.Shroomy Thanks for the reply!
What brand of coir do you use?
GROW!T
@@Stay.Shroomy awesome thank you
What size holes to drill ? And how high from the bottom of the tote ?

@@MaxG-jk8ty Thanks ! I was thinking the same after loading the tote to measure after.
Hello im confused...so you dont plug the holes up when they're colonizing? Or your going to to fruiting?
Correct. No need to plug the holes, thats old news. Spawn to fruiting is faster with no downside.
@@Stay.Shroomy ok thank you Sir
I have tubs that have been colonizing since March 16 I see little mycelium on top can I just put them in fruiting?
You can start the fruiting conditions at any point!
@Stay.Shroomy ok thank you
Does the amount of grain spawn you put in make a difference in yield? Cause I just use a mason jar, should I throw in a couple or is it just faster?
Yield is directly linked to the amount of grain spawn. A good target is 1 oz dry per quart of spawn. Anything more is a bonus, bumper crop!
How often after that 1 week do you spray your mushrooms and can i keep the tubs in my room in my cupboard ?
Only if they need it, otherwise never. You can learn to recognize a dry tub pretty easily, they change color and shrink. My tub designs are made to eliminate misting by providing more optimal conditions than other fruiting chambers.
Is the grain wet and sterilised already and is the coco aswell?
The grains must be hydrated and sterilized. I do not sterilize the coir, just hydrate it with tap water.
Why do you not have volume on your bulk videos?
I gotta add music with the youtube studio! haha thanks for reminding me. they only ever had youtube music on them.

So your putting 4 lbs of spawn to 6 lbs of dirt?
I prefer volumes instead of weights. 4 quarts of spawn to 6 quarts of substrate. Coco coir is not dirt.
@Stay.Shroomy ok thanks and I know it's not dirt...I just call all of it dirt if it gets me dirty. I do know it's coconut fiber and its Inert ...
