Absolutely amazing video and you captured some Great footage. You did a Great job👍👍👍, congratulations for that my friend, best regards Up'n'Down-Traveling
You are sooo right about more clothes at night doesn't mean more warmth. I figured that one out last summer out west when temps dropped into the low 30s.
not sure if you guys cares but if you are bored like me during the covid times you can stream all the new series on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my gf for the last couple of days :)
Those drone shots are really spectacular! Thank you for taking the time to do them and edit them in. Nice weather in this video too. That is another element I will need to push through, hiking in the heat. I have developed some ideas on how to handle that. Glad to see you back out hiking and enjoying what you do best.
I am so glad to see that the weather for this spring hike is the total opposite of last year's on the Pinhoti, there at the end when the rains came. Those views of ridge after ridge from the top of the bald are some of my favorites--"Chiaroscuro"!
Tennett mountain!!! Dude , I won't say I just... got something in my eye.. burns... loved taking the kids at camp over that Ridgeline. tarp camping over towards shining rock and Black mtn. There's a trail down Old Butt Knob off tennett, kinda a cliff to a trailhead.. old school blue ride hiking!! leave the ads. $$. bieng an Oct of 71er... man we crossing a major latitude this year..
I love the the music and the spooky Forrest! Great video with all the amazing views and coverage with the drone. Thank you for sharing , Are you writing a book?
Great scenery, ER--especially the drone footage from Tennent Mtn. I've added the Art Loeb Trail to my list. Last month we escaped mud season in the Whites by hiking the FHT. Next Spring, or perhaps late Fall when we're encrusted in snow and ice up here, we'll give Art Loeb a try. Thanks for bringing this trail to my attention.
Hey ER, can you comment about food storage on the Art Loeb trail? I heard that you needed a bear canister. Also, could you comment about sleeping with food versus hanging your food if you don't use a cannister? Thanks. Great to see you back on the trail!
OMG - you are back! Thanks be to God. I watch a fair number of hikers but you remain at the top of the chart! Rehabbing my left knee replacement but plan to be back out there in June. Still have just under 200 miles on the A.T. to complete it. So now I'm hearing it's just 'an adventure' - damn. I wanted at least a month long hike. I love Brevard. So beautiful.
@@EarlyRiser71 Just tell her to be diligent with the P.T. For some reason, some of our body's like to manufacture excessive amounts of scar tissue. It happens to about 5% of patients. I was one of the lucky ones - LOL. UGH. My surgeon wanted to go back and do 'knee manipulation' surgery; I chose to slug through it with PT. Now 4 months out, still in P.T., but almost there. Most days I am still doing 2 hrs of 'exercises.' Primarily because I want to get back and hike. It helps that my therapist is also a hiker; and he was so impressed with the roller bar I used while hiking (that YOU recommended), he got one for himself. ❤️
I sleep warm on the trail I routinely sleep in a tshirt and shorts; sometimes a long sleeve T If I need to get out of bed at night. Rarely cold. Lovely views.
Great as always to see you on the trail. We like the new and improved video style. You said when I ask for more trail shots,( when you were on the Pinhoti) that was not your style. Your the man. Adapt and change, the one constant in life. Thanks for the share and good luck on the book. I'm reading "Alone at Dawn, Msgt. J. Chapman" at the moment. Look forward to your new one. Hope you throw in some stories of your SOF experinences brother.
@@EarlyRiser71 Wish I could have meet you on the Pinhoti. I missed you at Cheaha by a couple of hours. I spent 8 years at Bragg with the engineers. Had alot of friends in the 7th & 5th SF. I was in Honduras for Big Pines 1 & 2 as support. Got to meet a CCT guy when I hooped a flight on a Carabou. Man youve got alot to write about. I look forward to the book.
You remain positive about everything. I just gotta get used to having one door, for me would translate to...I love my duplex and the door trade off isn't worth it. It affects where you can pitch and how you want to lay, etc.
I am using the Altaplex on this hike. If I had to choose between the two, it would depend on the trail. But I think I am leaning Altaplex. 6 ounce savings and longer footprint is appealing to me. 🕓
@@EarlyRiser71 the headroom is ideal esp. for you taller guys. Im only 5'8 but i had one of those lanshan1 tents and my head hit the netting. got over that thing quickly and bought the duplex. great company right here in my backyard melbourne, fl. I did notice the pvc trick to extend your pole. I heard you needed longer pole but that seemed to do the trick.
@@bird.1980 You just can't beat the duplex tent! I have over 150 nights in mind, and it still looks brand new for the most part. I am definitely a fan of ZPACKS! 🕓
More awesome views from the drone.
I'll have to add this trail to my list of places to hike. Nice little tour of the Altaplex.
the drone footage shows the magnitude of what you are doing and how small you are amidst that great grand wonder. Love it.
So true...well put.
Beautiful footage and drone shots!! Dadgum I love those drone shots!! I’m def. gonna have to check this trail and area out sometime!
Great views, love the drone shots! Thank you for sharing!
Oh and I agree about the warm weather hiking. Makes me ill tempered which is against my nature. 😅
Awesome ER!!!🙌
Keep crushing Andrew!!!🤘🕓

Awesome views !!! Like the new tent.
Good to hear and see you out there Thanks
Great to see you back out there ER!
Dang it ER.. now I got to add this trail to my list. Thanks for sharing as always!
The "Spooky Part" and "Privy Princess", :-) onward! Hiker Steve from Utah
Really loving the drone footage! Happy Hiking!
So good to see you again. I've missed you.
Thanks for the motivation.
Good stuff ER. A big thumbs on cool/cold temps for hiking! Finish strong...R.

You only need a bear canister if you are in the shining rock wilderness area.
Love watching you hike!! Phoebus!

Congrats on the knee. Mrs ER needs both replaced. I will be glad when the pain she faces every day will be relieved somewhat.

Brother you did some serious elevation change on your trip today. I know how that trail has roots that like to trip ya up.

I like change and the challenges that come with changing . . . but my Duplex is hard to beat!!!🤘🕓
Last time i was on top of black balsom, the winds had to be 100mph through there. I could barely stand up!
We used to do selection in July. Possibly the coldest I have ever been was on top of those balds in July. 🤘🕓
Your optics are awesome. Are you using new electronics? Do you still have your duplex? Just wondered how it is still holding up?
My Duplex looks almost brand new.
Love the drone footage. What kind of drone do you have? I have been looking into getting one.
My drone is the Mavic Mini.
Awesome Sir what’s the next book?
an artic scientist said the same. he was nude undernearh his down equipment.
How can I contact you? Would like to talk about some things. Thanks.
Any plans on doing the PCT, AZT, CDT,etc??
PCT and CDT before I am 55.
Would you take a dog on the Art Loeb trail. My dog is an Aussie and hikes in the Whites a lot.
Absolutely. The only issue is water in a few spots. You would have to carry more for both of you. Otherwise, perfect trail for them I would think. 🕓
@@EarlyRiser71 Thank you so much! We are hiking the Art Loeb trail in 2 weeks. Is there plenty of water in the first 12 miles?
