Thanks for the vid! Allowed me to teach this to my daughter without having to tune down every time. Being able to play along to the music is a game changer.
@@scoobo619 I mean, even then, changing the tuning isn't going to change how the song sounds, it is perfectly playable in standard tuning, actually there is no real reason to play it in half step down, it will only sound different if you change the key.
@@ykleine Easy, you just need to transpose it and stay in key, it doesn't matter if you tune your guitar half step down or not. You could even play the song in drop D half step down or whatever if you wanted too as long as you stay in key. Personally I play it in standard E tuning there's absolutely no need to tune half step down to play this song.
@@Gash_Kobeth sometimes it doesnt soud as good by transposing. In E tuning you cant make the E power chord as low as in the recording for example. You’d have to adapt, but no matter what, it wont sound the same cuz in E tuning you cant possibly get the same sound as the Eb power chord he plays.

If dookie came out in 2002
I don't get it, Basket Case is supposed to be played in standard E tuning. I think what you mean is changing the key from Eb to E.
basket case is supposed to be in half step down, all the songs on dookie are half step down tuning

@@Gash_Kobeth Try playing in E tuning while the song is played in Eb tuning. Then come back here and play it with this video.
