    Exhaust cleaning and disposal of caustic soda. Given that caustic soda (sodium Hydroxide) is just common household drain cleaner it is fine to put down the sewer drain (sewer, not storm water). It combines with fats and oils to form soap. Don’t put it in the storm water as it may kill a few of the fish and critters that live in the waterways.

    Hi dez
    Im thinking of doing a top end myself of a KA100 and I'm reasonably memechanicly inclined. I saw your video on a top end rebuild of the shifter engine and I think I can replace the piston and ring myself. I would get the honning done from a shop but is there anything else that needs to be done during a top end rebuild? Also side question whats your oppions on the BirelArt chassis, i heard its hard to setup.

    • @PowerRepublic

      Hey yeah, it should be easy enough for you to get it done, especially if you get someone to hone the cylinders for you.
      nah they are fine, I have driven customer karts of all makes and models and essentially the same lap times. its just the feeling that changes.
      obviously I would use and recommmend Tony kart , but the choice is up too you,.

    Here in the US I never see OTK karts using the gold bar. Curious as why it would be the go to bar there but not here?

    • @dondelchulia3189
      @dondelchulia3189 Год назад +1

      Gold bar gets good use in the US karting scene. I mean silver and HD axle are probably the best for summer tracks, occasionally you really need that front to work and to reduce the rear lift cause of too soft a rear axle. My use case is a push on entry and too soft/tight rear on exit for a gold bar. Generally though a silver/HD is your best bet for summer OTK driving

    How do you know when to add or remove seat stays as well as their placement, and when do you use harder or softer seats? Any guidance for bigger guys would be appreciated. Your videos are the best out there on karting - thanks for all your time and effort making them!

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  Год назад +1

      Yo, thanks heaps for watching, sharing, and liking the videos. take the seat stays off if the kart is sliding in high speed corners.
      put them on if the kart is hopping into corners.
      soft seats are better when the track is hot an sticky.
      harder seats for cooler slippery tracks.

      The Lo206 is very popular in NSW in Endurance Karting in 2 classes, a single engine class (the biggest 39 karts last round) and a twin engine class. I race in three Endurance classes, the other is Honda powered. The Briggs is just starting to grow in sprint racing in NSW after a recent (2 weeks ago) weight adjustment for the class.
