- They are the lives gone much too soon. Fourteen students and three adults were killed when a gunman opened fire inside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The victims range in age from 14 to 49. Some had just started high school, others were preparing to enter college. 3 people died on my street last year (mother sister and friend) from the son who was kicked out by the mother. A couple years earlier he threw a chair at his sister and went crazy and the cops were called. The cops had to taze him and they found out that he was ill and was mental but let him go free... now he came back and killed his mother sister and a friend. People need to take action on these warnings. Who the hell just lets a ill person out on the streets. The family was so nice :(. They did garage sales and gave me things and did holiday decorations. Now their home is empty and sad. Stop ignoring the ill
why dont they ban guns or enclose mental people

One of them played trombone in marching band and I’ve never felt so sad for one of my fellow musicians. This school is amazing. Their marching band won first place in Florida state championships, forcing my sister’s school (Timber Creek High School) to come in second, but they deserve it. What happened to these people should never happen to anybody, and I hope that Nikolas thinks about all the loss he has caused.

Wow... This is such a cruel world. Innocent kids as well as adults were shot. I lost my grandma to cancer a few years ago, but I can't imagine losing a child to a school shooting, especially when school is meant to be a 'safe place'. Prayers for the families who lost a loved ones
When you become a teacher you sort of take a vow, as long as a student is willing to learn then you as a teacher will do all you can to teach them. Those coaches and teacher went above and beyond when they gave their own lives to protect their students, rest in peace you brave and noble souls.
For not every teacher would be willing to make that sacrifice.

My french teacher said that she lived in Florida and started teaching there. She said she let down working at Douglas High and went for something much closer to her home. Aaron Feis was a friend of hers. It's sad to have a friend go like this.
