Part 3: Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of GRAN TURISMO 5 PROLOGUE for the Playstation 3 PS3 video game console. A much smaller game than the previous Gran Turismo series offerings like GT4, GT3 and GT2, the High Definition cockpit view is simply incredible. How does Gran Turismo 5 vs. Forza 2 Motorsports compare? Could this be the best racing race car simulator ever made? Easy solution for online bumper car trolls. 3 strikes deliberate crash system, the third strike causing sticky tires. Job done.

never had any problem and the unexpected moves on the drivers is cuz to the bad connection either yours or them, depends on the host,

idk what to do...i'm a HUGE fan of racing games and i love gran turismo. I chose a 360 over a PS3 this time around and love it to death and all the games for it. Do you think its worth paying so much for a PS3 just for one game that MIGHT be better than the next forza? or should i just stick with my 360 and suck it up

Is that temporary or permanent?
Most of the races you raced in had lags in the line.
Also, th positioning of the cars depend on the number of performance points you have. The shorter the amount, the higher up you're placed at the start.
I should also mention that this is the first Gran Turism with full online capabilities (GT4 had an online test version which lasted only for a few months back in 2006).
the online play seemed to be lagging out a lot, hence why the cars were shooting accross the track randomly.

i can't remember but if it is going to be launched soon they would have given us a tour or a short trailer or something like any other game does

lol, the ghost car effect also happens in forza 2. i think its to help prevent people from PIT maneuvering you
wow the lag on GT online looks brutal. I think that why really lacking that and game play modes and options. I do hope they fix this when the full game comes out

i got xbox 360 with forza motorsports 3, but my hdd crashed so i lost everything i accomplished in that game. thats why i want 2 buy a ps3 with gt5 because its a much better game but i'm affraid that the online is gonna suck so bad that im gonna regret for buying.

UPnP is universal plug n play, it helps with some setups
I think its to prevent you from hitting a car that's going slow (just spun out) or going the wrong direction. When you search for a race you can have it disabled on forza.
@DavidPlim True, but that's not what is causing the lag here. Also you're thinking of 56k not 54k.
Keep trying to update via News menu. Download starts where it fails, so finally you'll get it updated to spec III. You can look it's size up in "game data" in xmb. GT5P SIII filesize has got to be at least 6.5 gigabyte large as far as I remember.
disable upnp, it was obvius. motions of the cars are weird, they appear on the other side of the road randomly
I never saw any games like that before online.
For the record, upnp is a protocol/system ( I don't really know/care), that let's you kind of plug your devices wirelessly. Like, if I want to watch some Top Gear, I just share my videos from my computer ( I run linux, so I am using ushare) and then I just watch them on the PS3, if both of the devices are connected to a network. It kind of sucks that I can't have upnp and gt5p at the same time.
I am really looking forward to getting this game on my system.

maybe this should fix the problem:
when someone hits your car, that someone's car will be damaged but not your car... that way, no one will use the tactic where they always bump you to get your position... soooo clean race and a very happy InecomCompany player!

@jamci13 - I have Destruction Derby on my PSP which I downloaded from the Playstation Network, hope they put Destruction Derby 2 on there too.

it dpends on how long you play the longer your online the more you need
Strainge i never once had any error messages like that, i have had the odd bit of lag but nothing on the scale of whats in this vid.
Then again when i got GT5P i had a sea of updates come through so they may have cured a lot of the problems with the lag and people flying all over the place
@jonathanbsherman I haven't had any issues yet, and nobody I know has had issues. I did hear something about network issues, and since GT5 connects to the internet even in single player, that could be the reason. Try taking your PS3 offline as a workaround and see if that helps.

If so, yes...that game looks pretty cool.
@1993gandy I just usually buy the console and buy one game with it. I didn't know the PS3 had any bundle pack.

PS3 doesn't have it's network in order yet, I love the games that are single player on it, but playing online is a bit rough.

@cityslicker202, actually this is unlike most demos which are from a finished product. This is just a small taste of GT5. The full version is sposed to be a lot better online, along with more modes and easier to find friends etc. They have done many changes sense prologue to improve on it, its more of a 30 dollar beta, and if you played betas theyre far from perfect. I played betas that were laggy but the full product was smooth.

I'm not talking about any damaging other vehicles for points, NO open world like burnout paradise, I just need a good ol' racing game.
The kind where all you do is RACE and that's it. I really wish someone would remake super off-road.

@DaHappyGang thats because GT5 Prologue has more realistic driver handling than some of the older GTs that had basic or no driver physics at all
This game was on my wishlist before I buy the PS3, finally I discovered the present games are over-rated, in the past videogame generations, they put the effort to give you something you pay for..now they´re selling you by pieces, you want "x" car, pay money, you want that new "tracks", "skins",the same,I hope to eat my words when I get the Full GT 5...I recognize the effort of Yamauchi, he´s trying to give us what we know in the past...I really hope this game don´t be like "Daikatana",no delays

I'm sure those that like ramming would prefer a nice Destruction Derby type game, maybe they should do a remake of the PS1 game which came out in the mid 90s. Even remake Carmageddon. Imagine what they would be like on the PS3.

@VelvetKevorkian Yes, but most of the people in the Beginner races have most of the more expensive cars already, something which takes a lot of time to earn the cash, and surely, in that time, the driver's skill would've increased. Plus, as pointed out in the review, heavy amounts of lag often cause cars to slide in front of you and making you crash, and then you get penalized, even if it wasn't your fault.

@kattastrophik GRID is a pretty fun racing game or need for speed shift...
at least the guys at PD are fixing this so we all can have a go.

Forza 3's physics are by no means arcade-ish. Forza 3's physics run 360 hz and does things like Tire flex and accurate aerodynamics.
@a7medinho73 You know this is an old review of the Prologue, released over a year ago, there was no campaign single player on that : P
