      Range is alway the #1 question/concern/deal breaker on any electric mobility product - do the range test and also compare range to the KTM Freeride E-XC. Make some low power (maybe 15~20hp) maps and see how they work with lap time comparisons on your loops. So many questions about these Varg electric dirt bikes!

    • @ridgeridermoto

      Agreed. Getting rid of noise makes the whole prospect of bikes more appealing to the public. People are already accepting e -scooters, skateboards, bikes, etc as modes of transportation.

The traction is phenomenal (personally I liked your lines throughout the ride more conservative on the knobby tyre👍) that rear grip is your conservative.....cause electric + torque = torn off knobbies.

    It's pretty funny that after all the hype about it being able to run a full MXGP race, we have seen that the battery lasts only about 15 minutes when running mostly on mid power range on a flat sandy mx track under ex-pro rider.
    It also limits power heavily as the battery cells heat up during riding or a battery has about 20% left. Charging takes something like 2,5 hours also.
    Interested to see when media is going to bring up these little drawbacks.

      No they won't do 60 miles but neither will my Husky TE 300i at that pace. Also long trail rides are not what the Stark was designed for. It looks like immense amount of fun to ride a Stark Varg in Moab like this, but anyone who expects it to be able to do a long day of riding will be sorely disappointed. A very long charge time will be needed after about 35 miles of fast trail riding. BTW, I'm not a Stark hater--I have one on order for October. Just a realist.

I just mentioned in my previous comment about the difference in riding style but the difference is tyre manufacturer, style of inner. Kevlar inserts, thicker tube etc.
    Your friends upgrade showed in just the way he was riding it with a bit more confidence? Actually he was thrashing it I won't lie lol. But you being conservative must have known the tyres were an issue? 😉

New bikes arriving every day...to those of us that preordered when they were first announced years ago. If you go to their website and order today (August 11, 2023), the estimated delivery date is February 20, 2025 (1yr 6months from now). Or, there will be some original buyers selling bikes second hand as they come in, but expect to pay quite a mark up. So far, the highest sale I've seen was one for $23,000 (owner was asking $25,000).

      If you want it dead silent you’ll need something that’s belt drive like a Zero FX. I will say that the chain isn’t THAT loud, it just seems loud because of the camera being near it. Unless you are ripping at very high speeds it’s still going to be hard for other people to hear. I’m getting one for the same reason as well

      I run an Oring chain on my electric ktm but the difference in noise between running iT dry or oiled is night and day, with a well oiled chain they are super super quiet, a lot of these vids don't really get across how quiet they really are in person because the sound levels in the camera auto adjust

    • @valiant545
      @valiant545 10 месяцев назад

      Yeah I know, but the chain drive is louder. Depends on what you want. Belt drive is perfectly safe, the issue is debris offroad damaging it and causing it to break and need to be replaced. If someone would make an enclosed belt drive it would be way less of a concern. @@just_one_opinion

    How could you ride in the middle of the summer in the desert without spare tubes, tire irons, chain repair parts, spokes, pump, food, water etc.? What is in his (your?) backpack? Not only is it dangerous not to carry spares, but if it happened 15 minutes into the ride...you'd write off the rest of the day.

      Look on a map.
      Although your comment is true. At any given time on the sand flats recreation area you can walk a flat tire out in 10-15 minutes at worst.
      And why even comment…….

      Fins and things is a little over 9 miles total and crosses over the main road halfway so you're never more than a few miles from the road. Im sure he has plenty of water in his backpack and most people including me would rather ride out the flat than try to change it on the trail when it's a shorter trail like this. There is no danger in not carrying a spare on this trail and theres no reason to try to shame someone for something you didn't research.

    • @Tumid1
      @Tumid1 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@lock6686 Are you guys serious ? What "research" should I have done before "shaming" Tucker ? Have you ever pushed a 265lb motorcycle a "few miles" in the sand & up hills in 100 degree heat in a desert ? Even when you reach the road you still need to get someone to either go back for a truck or wait for someone to pick you up....or keep pushing.
      What happens if the flat tire comes apart when you're riding over rocks...faceplant or just ride on the rim & trash it?
      My criticism seems needed because riding an (only) 9 mile trail in mid-summer with no spares & not considering the potential dangers is obviously common practice. I guess I'm the crazy one to think being prepared is the smart thing to do. Amazing this is controversial.

    • @lock6686
      @lock6686 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@Tumid1 Riding in Colorado I get pinch flats multiple times per season and have been riding for over 20 years. Tires don't just "come apart". I've ridden upwards of 15 miles with a flat on brutally rocky terrain and have never had an issue. And my point is, being only a few miles from the main road, theres not really any risk of "dying out in the middle of the desert". You can make it a few miles walking without dying when you have water in your backpack. You could have said it was risky if he was doing a 100 mile ride in the middle of nowhere. This area is in a recreational park. And that's why I mentioned looking up the trail before commenting. It's barely more risky than getting a flat at a motocross track in the middle of summer with the amount of riders always on this trail and main roads near. But regardless, shaming anyone on youtube is just unnecessary and pointless I'm sure as someone that has been riding for years, he's aware of what's risky and what's not and you don't need to be the safety police for him.
